- JoroborosRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm going to be clear, i would not have started reading this if i didn't find it on the author's page. The blurb does not attract my interest too well, considering it's just 'poor man starts streaming'.
The novel is about Ray, who clearly has some mental illness which causes him to supress the memories of anything which gives too much stress. That just so happens to be essentially everything in his life.
Ray starts playing the VR game 'Planes of Oblivion' and is able to slide into the role (or personality) of his character Mei. Mei seems able to handle the crushing anxiety that Ray cannot and allows Ray to remember the memories of his time in game even logged out.
This is still early in the story, but there is plenty of mystery about both Ray's past and what is deeper than the surface of this vr game. The author likes to write particularly depressing novels and while Ray's life seems on its way up at the end of ch39 if dark skies is any indication it wont stay that way.
Grammar is near perfect, or at least I can't find error.
Story is interesting so far, but has not progressed much yet.
So far i am enjoying it. Looking forward to where this goes.
