- ankhangelRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have read almost the whole universe of VGO and Jess' addition to it is wonderful. I loved her expansion of Abby so much I built a whole cosplay around it. Jess was an absolute help with it as well. She approved every detail of it. I wanted to do her work the justice it deserves.
- WolfieRoyal Road★★★ 2.5No unmarked spoilers ahead, all worldbuilding info is within first 4 chapters, and important story info no further than 2nd chapter.
Review based on first 14 chapters.
So, we have super advanced game. The best system, the best everything, gazillion dollars used upon its creation.
The problem is the system actually is worse than... well everywhere. A lot of bugs with that, but I guess it is to be expected from just released game. On the other hand I'm afraid it was not a point for the game to be buggy. (like harpoons classified as staffs not spears? I know pointy end is just for show. The other possability that a damaged harpoon is a staff as a feature... then every damaged weapon changes its class, so what's next... a sword with a broken tip as a staff as well?)
We have also our super planning programmer mc that wants to be a sorc and chooses a race from the lower end to handicap herself for entire life (since life irl ENDS, apparently), and risk system not recognizing her as a sorc (since your skill tree depends on your first few actions/acquired skills) because.... emmm... masochizm? Most likely.
Besides that mc is a beacon of stoicism. Wolf is almost biting your arm off? Oh... it's not like I imagined my first adventure. No panic, no screaming, no cussing, nothing, just a few ordered thoughts, as if she had all time in the world to enjoy afternoon tea. I guess she must be a gladiator irl after her working hours, since she seems so used to be seriously damaged (no pain dampening ingame).
The plot itself... (may be considered spoiler but this is what I would call a decent synopsis based on 13 chaps, just a little less biased look at things compared to mc's one. I might have mistaken something, it's just a feeling I got)
Spoiler: Spoiler
A spiteful programmer with dislike for order and strict rules, who works at one of the best companies in the world (which has a strict dresscode and long working hours), decides to go on bloody vendetta against her boss who is doing
