It's a great, very funny story with a satisfying ending.
Would recommend.
There are characters who think too much of themselves, and are funny because of their arrogance. There are a lot of references to poplar culture, sometimes to mock it but often not. A lot of jokes which could have been one-offs instead come back both as brick jokes and as serious plot points. And all the content I would usually have found unsavoury I didn't mind so much because it was obviously a joke.
Add to that a gradual increase in power- and threat-level which keeps the story engaging, culmunating in a satisfying ending when continuing the power inflation would have ruined things, and you have a great story.
Two things come to mind that could have been (/still be) improved: it would have been nice if there was an easy way to remind myself what perks do, for example if perks expanded to include their description when clicked on in the perk list. Often when the story mentioned a character lost a certain power I couldn't remember what the power was that had been lost. Also two scenes come to mind that irked me a little.
The first is where Kia ambushes Vanquir and is convinced they're 'goodish'; the scene just wasn't convinving. The second is where in the final battle they go through the whole pattern of good guys win -> bad guys get reinforcements; bad guys win -> good guys get reinforcement; good guys win -> bad guys get reinforcements; bad guys win -> good guys use special power; good guys win -> loop and repeat. I thought this whole "battle on the edge of a knife" trope was nicely subverted in the ambush of the piper and I was disappointed it came back. (Though looking back the authour wasn't fully commited to dropping this trope even in the aforementioned ambush.)

And I love all of them. I love the plot. I love the characters. And I definitely love the way that the dragons are shown off.
Of course they would be greedy bastards! I just love how that's shown off. The basically over-grown lizards in this story shows off just what it means to be narcissistic, and I just love reading every word of it. People might not like that aspect of the story, but its most definitely my favourtie.
If I could give this anything above 5/5 I would have. Sadly, I have to be realistic in my ratings.

Vainqueur the Dragon is a fun, fresh take on fantasy that’s both exciting and funny. The story follows Vainqueur, a lazy but clever dragon, who ends up with a clumsy human sidekick. Together, they create lots of laugh-out-loud moments! I loved how Vainqueur sees the world differently than a typical hero, which adds a unique twist. The characters feel real, and the funny back-and-forth between Vainqueur and his companion makes the story even better. With plenty of action and humor, it’s a quick, enjoyable read that I really liked!

I jumped onto this story around chapter 30, since then I just fell into love with it. It definetly started out rough but since then it became more and more polished as it fleshed out the characters especially in the case of Vainqueur. He started out as a vain 1 dimesional character (I finally get his name now.... wow) and has actually grown and progressed as a character. This is the kind of story that I will miss once it ends and I know it's coming soon but I will look back fondly at the laughs it has brought me and the interesting viewpoints as well

Well, first of all, let me say that I love this story. It's a fun, action-packed adventure about dragon named Vainqueur and his reluctant human minion, Victor, as they travel the world, slaying monsters, slaying humans, eating humans, and raking in as much gold as they can. Vainqueur and Victor have a good double act going, with lots of interesting people showing up for a bit.
It's a good book if you're looking for a funny, light hearted comedy action fantasy mix.
Keep in mind, you probably don't know where this story is going.

Okay okay okay.
This story is great. Vainqueur is the most vain person on the planet. Victor is...a manling. The kobolds are incredible comic relief (in a comedy! Mind you!) And I love how the author plays with tropes and expectations.
My favorite joke in the whole book is that there is a buried "Apple of Knowledge" that people are desperate to find. Feels like a classic reference to the bible, the guy is feeling literary, thought nothing more of it.
Except when it turned out to be an ipad, and it was glorious.
Read this, lmao.

Sadly there are very few completes stories that were as as consistently good and fun as this one, and I am very glad I picked this story.
Plenty of "meta" jokes and just enought OP characters to keep things both interesting while not overdoing the drama.

Has a good twist for LitRPG subgenre. Characters are funny and feel fleshed out if they are not fodder.
Grammar wise there wasn't any mistake that I could find or notice.
