Unsummoned is a pretty new fiction with some promise. The author is new and still figuring out their style, but the story itself is compelling and the characters show a lot of potential for new growth.
Grammar: Perfect. I definitely didn't see anything.
Characters: Pretty good, but still being developed. You have two people striving for perfection above all else and it's slowly destroying everything they care about. This review does come right after what I assume to be the inciting incident, so I don't know how they grow, but the set up is there for it
Style: Here's where things get rough. This story was helped by ChatGPT and you can definitely tell by some of the ways things are worded. ChatGPT struggles to not try and permanently end a segment it generates so you'll have very final sounding transitions throughout the whole piece. It will also cycle through the same ideas a couple of times before finally settling on a concluding note. That said, I'm sure this will improve as the author develops their style more and gets comfortable with writing.
Story: Actually pretty good. I'm too early in to tell where it's going completely. but the bit world changing incident just happened and it looks like the MC's perfect life is about to be flipped on its head. Good stuff.
Overall, this is worth a read. Especially as the author improves and develops their style more.
