Description
Elias Mercer is plagued by a curse. An unseen compulsion gnaws at him, forcing his hand toward action, responsibility, and doing the “right thing” even when it costs him. In the mundane world, it is a slow poison. An invisible leash. But not for the System. When Earth gets integrated in the vast multiverse, and humanity is dragged into a brutal Tutorial, most see it as the greatest catastrophe ever happened. For Elias instead, the Tutorial is not a nightmare. It is an opportunity. Finally, his curse has a name. And more importantly, a way to be free of it. While others struggle to adapt, Elias embrace his new reality, he twists curses into weapons, forces arcane energies to obey through sheer will, and grows at a pace others struggle to comprehend. As allies gather around him and enemies far above his level fall to his might, Elias pushes deeper, faster, and even harder. Power is the only path to freedom, and Elias wants to be free of his curse more than anything else in the world. What to expect: - An OP main character - Tactical combat - A ruthless System that rewards power above anything else - Meaningful side characters with a personality - A varied magic system At least 5 Chapters a week — MTWTF

- GuisoauRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I really like the "not the heroes" type Main Characters, and this is certainly one of these.
Elias is literally CURSED to be a good person even in detriment of himself (and considering that this is a CURSE it makes sense). But even in his inner most self he is not a murder hobo, and I appreciate this. Makes him more complex as a character.
The System is not very useful, in the sense it seems misleading, but I think it makes sense in the story so far.
Overall, I really I'm quite enjoying myself with this reading - wileecoyote84Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am at chapter 17, and am really enjoying the read so far. A different take on the system apocalypse genre with good world building, an interesting MC with odd quirks, and side characters that are slowly gaining extra dimensions. I need extra words, so please read this story, you will enjoy it
- CobaltRedRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The problem with a lot of litrpgs is the constant fighting without a purpose to the plot.
What I really enjoy about this one besides the new take on a cursed mc and intriguing side characters, is that every fight actually serves a purpose and furthest the plot.
With every fight he is actually progressing and learning something new about his skill set, improving it, evolving it. Which furthest the plot and gives a direction for the mc.
I hope it keeps up like this cause it has the potential of becoming one of the best in the genre. - darkestnightRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0at the moment of writing this review there are only 21 chapters and every one of them was great.
The mc is cursed which is at the moment an impairment for the mc which he has started to turn into power.
what I found strange was that he didn't want to take cursed abilities but took cursed armor and potions.
All in all it was an enjoyable read till now with great potential. - Dead_SlimeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I’m always have tendency to be wary of LITRPGs as some use status and systems to hold the story rather than support and then we get drowned in statuses. But for Unsated it does very well it does very well in keeping the system as something that propels the story rather than holding it back.Style: Has very nice smooth flowing prose that has a really nice balance between describing and showing actions. That always gives you a good idea of the surroundings and how characters are interacting with them.Story: By far my favourite aspect as we start off with a really nice introduction which sets up the Elia’s main problem of the his curse. Which I won’t explain more on but continually has a real effect on Elia’s and the story has a whole. With it not being a throwaway gimmick solved super quickly and ignored when it’s convenient. We also have good use of foreshadowing and environmental story telling that keeps you immersed while giving you hints to what’s happening before hand. Not to mention the big group dynamic has been really refreshing after all the lone wolf type stories there are populating the LITRPG genre.Character: Elias as a character is interesting and feels distinct with him definitely not being a self-insert. As he has an extremely unique perspective on life and people with him being a good person by action but morally grey for his reasons. Which while im a sucker for such characters his perspective is genuinely interesting to read from.Side characters are also equally interesting with an alternative POV every few chapters which adds to the story and fleshes the characters out. They all have their own motivations with them feeling human rather than the muck that exists to only make a MC look good (with the personality of a slab of concrete).Grammar: Small spelling mistakes every few chapters as to be expected on Royal Road which will likely all be removed once it’s published. With the author normally fixing them rather quickly and I hope continues to do so.O
- [email protected]Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Good story line and kept my interest. In fact, I read all the available chapters in one sitting and then left this review and I don’t usually leave a review but now that I realize I had to have 50 characters, good luck Royal Road in getting any further reviews from me.
- Kanau NegaiRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I might not be a person whos good at writing reviews. Considering my last review on this novel got 6 dislikes. This novel is something i hoped would be a little bit philosphical and rich with emotions. Sadly it is mediocre in that department. But considering it has a unique power system. And the progression is really enjoyable. In my opinion this deserves a read. This author writes like a proffesional. Even though i feel it could use some character development. There is definitely room for improvement. This is just my instinct. I feel like something is missing. When i read the latest chapters. Maybe its the world building. Too much is missing and i dont even have the questions to think about. It would be nice to introduce the world a bit more.Because right now its limited to a few dozen individuals revolving around the main crew. And theyre just strotting around and fighting things while not learning much else except for that maybe there was a civilization because some kind intelligent creatures they were fighting. And the murals at the place they were fighting.. maybe its just my preference to get more world building.
- AlsoJohnRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Stuck in everyday life as a superior, but human, individual with an overwhelming neurotic need to please and to help others. A lawyer is saved by the system's arrival.
The system sets him on a path of selfishly helping others for tactical reasons.
I'm not sure I agree with the core idea if saintliness as psychopathy but it sure makes for an interesting view of the standard system challenges. - Luther KrellicRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This story approaches the system apocalypse from a different perspective. I like it. It is fun, it is fresh, and it is exciting to read. What makes it even better is that the author is a good writer, not just a good story teller. It makes each chapter a pleasure to read.
- MocchiRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5A genre that have a lot of fictions and the majority are just the same over and over again, the same OP lone wolf MC, to be fair I enjoy a lot of them, rarely, but I still enjoy the genre, but here we have this fiction, that brought a new concept for our MC character that I never saw before, someone cursed from birth, compelled to do things without no agency, but when the system comes to Earth, he finally have the tools to be free com his curse, a path to cure and meanwhile he is still helping people, encountering new friends to tackle this new reality with him.The side characters are compelling, the plot isn't massive cliché, the worldbuilding needs to be more explored, the dialogues have some little problems, but are still enjoyable, the fights are really well written and good people die! There are intermission chapters, were we can relax after a good fight, where people interact with each other and we can glimpse their personalities. All in all, I enjoyed a lot, it isn't groundbreaking fiction, but has a lot of potential to be one of the best in the genre, I totally recommend, give it a chance and see for yourself, thank you for reading my review.
