(Thank you Drakannon for the Cover Art!) My name is Allec Renn, and I was born with ALS. For those of you who don't know what that is, it stands for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. It basically means that I lost the ability to control my muscles. Its just like Lou Gehrig and Stephen Hawking. By the time I was 6 years old, I was living in a hospital, and from there things progressively got worse. I cannot walk, talk, eat or even go to the bathroom by myself. But there is one thing I can do. Playing games. The advent of Virtual Reality during my early teens greatly alleviated my problems. In the games I can be who I want, what I want. A mighty warrior, a powerful spellcaster, the charming rogue. The crafter. The builder. All sorts of games have come and gone over the years, rising and falling with each advance in VR technology and the ever-increasing power of the Artificial Intelligence's that control them. But now a new actor has taken to the stage. Solar Dynamics, Inc. has unveiled not only the first fully immersive 'deep' Dive Pod, but their flagship game puts all other VR games to shame. Universe Online. No longer are players stuck on a single large world to explore. No longer is there a limit to what you can do, what you can be. Fly spaceships across the universe, conquer planets, create custom technology. Mine, Build, Destroy. Explore. Rule. Do you have what it takes the control the Universe? I'm going to do my best to find out! -NOTE: This story is MATURE, and such has graphic fight scenes, blood and gore. Also cursing. Quite a bit of that in some cases. Sex may also be involved. -NOTE: Like my other story, UO is a work in progress. The storyline, characters, and other things are still in the drafting stages. Also, excuse my spelling and grammar errors!

I’m loving this, but it is indeed missing MMO elements. Simply adding more tables can easily remedy that (even though they can be a pain).
Unfortunately adding more about RL can’t easily be done with the main character you’ve got, and it is undeniable having more RL action would help in establishing a more obvious MMO feel.
What you could do is introduce a less restricted character that has more RL time than the MC, or just write more from one of the previously introduced characters viewpoint.
All in all, a pretty great story. Definitely recommended.

It’s great to read a story about a virtual-reality game that takes you to a sci-fi / space setting. It’s refreshing to read instead of the usual dragons / magic / dungeon virtual reality story.
I like it well enough that I’ve purchased the first book the author has published on Amazon, as a gesture of support. I understand it only contains about half of what has been published on Royal Road so far, but the price is worth it if the author keeps writing the story at the same level (or better) of quality.
I definitely want to read more. =)

I think I haven't been this hyped about a story for a while now. The story is so easy to read and it literally sucks you inside of it with no way out :D. Definetly a must-read fanfic.

Great story!! You put a lot of thought in the concept and the development of the plot. Evrything has a purpose and is well explained.
A little disappointed by how easy it becames after the initial stage. there is a lot of unpredicted things happening making the story interesting, but as soon a you introduces Archy it became too easy. I think you should have added a tria by Archy to really become the owner of the archon station, and a "political" struggle with Andrix (I also think that Andrix personality is changing too much. He was concerned, reliable, and a little suspicious at the start, which was normal, but then he suddenly became an asshole... weird).
Anyway the story is really great and the game is beginning to impact the reality, which is interesting :-)
