- zakkysageRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It is one of the best Naruto Fanfiction out there, the rationality of our MC is incredible and his scientific explanation of chakra or kekkei genkai or any other kekkei that he is or will explain make sense. The MC is also a scientist and as stated makes scientist explanation of thing that are related to chakra (yes I am trying reaching 50 characters that the site requires).
- MujdeuRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I fully recommend this story. As a fanfic it has everything you would want, and it diverges early from the story, as to not follow the original too much.
It starts from the perspective of an unlucky civilian, focusing on the pressure to live as a nonempowered that could be subjected to the whims of the ninjas, and evolves the story in a way you feel it's right. I can't say anymore without spoiling, but just read it. It's one of the best - SiliconWolfRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0If you enjoyed Naruto, you should read at least the first three chapters of this story. The third chapter is absolutely hysterical.
Chapters 4 - 15 are your standard good quality isekai fanfic. The main character winds up interacting with Naruto and becomes his (grumpy) friend.
Chapter 16 is ...different. Author rightly mentions that some readers won't like it. I like parts of it, and there are parts I'm uncomfortable with so I decided to joke about them.
P.S. Regarding the title of my review? TROLOLOLOLOL - SlowpodeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Not gonna lie; This has been the most entertaining read I had for a looong time!
I would have like to have a little more interaction with the Bijuu`s; maybe in the Epilogue, just to see how they are faring in hell...
Thank you very much for the great fun I had in the past few hours of reading. - generalwaferRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Really great fan fiction. One of the best I've ever read. The science stuff is really hard to understand though, and it has some of the most complex stuff I've ever read. I mean, the MC derives a bunch of science from first principles, making for an exceptionally hard read, especially if you haven't brushed up on your physics or statistics. The hardest chapter I've read so far is the inverse Chakra principle. That chapter MELTED my brain. However this is complemented by great writing, brilliant character writing and organic interaction which is a huge pitfall with many other reincarnation fictions. The actual story is so well written that it kept me hooked despite how tired my brain felt after reading through the scientific sections. My only gripe with the book is the sometimes jarring perspective shifts and a specific six month time skip. That and the sometimes too long science sections are the only reason why I personally haven't given this story a 5/5. Then again that's just my taste :)
- BiovoreBarrageRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I was not expecting this story to be this good. Even though it is a fanfic, it adapts the source material super well and adds a lot of justification to why the main character knows what they know. One of my personal favorite bits of the story comes from the main character bringing in modern academic publishing standards into the world of Naruto, so if you are a massive nerd in a STEM field (like me) there is a high chance you will like it as well. The only issue I have with it is the somewhat lack of exposition, as when talking about some of the lore of Naruto and some of the scientific principles I had to do some extra Googling even when some of the stuff is somewhat explained, but besides that I don't have any other critiques. Go read this.
- JabberwockenRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I've never watched Naruto, so I was a little lost on some of the terms - well, most of them, actually - but that's on me.
Even with that handicap, the story was fun and satisfying; it was nice to have a happy ending, which I suspect is one of the most fun parts of fanfiction.
The little bits of flair in the story - fragments of Irish, personal style, etc. - were fun, and good additions to the core scientific ideas, which I found interesting and enlightening. - JoseelprittyRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0sincerely an adult and funny way along with a bit of sarcasm about the perspective of a civilian person, although the protagonist is reincarnated it does not take away from his way of seeing life as what it is and how an institution like a ninja village works It gives perspective and makes the story make sense while being entertaining. Honestly, a Naruto fan-fic does not attract me as much as this one thanks to its proposal of the same story from an angle that I had never seen before, making it interesting and entertaining. For people who are tired of Naruto fan-fics where the protagonist is the chosen one of the heavens with all the bloodlines like Uchija Senju, Hyuga, etc. either he is a random civilian with gamer powers or a type of system that gives him broken powers in chapter 50 onwards or even before, in diphenotics this is a 10/10 fic in terms of story, narration, comedy, seriousness and character writing. The only thing that would give this fan-fic a low rating would be the waiting time between chapters, which honestly I don't expect them to upload one every week either, but at least I don't like that they make me wait 2 months between chapters to find out how the story continues, I mean yes. We put it into perspective, it would be 6 chapters per year and the chapters are not a 200,000 word piece of writing to justify the time between chapters, this detail being the only bad thing about the novel.
- Evil_WaterRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I’d place this story in the mid-to-good Naruto fanfiction category, with some rationality-esque vibes. The style and language are okay in my eyes, however, this story has some problems with pacing and characters. Or, well, there is one problem regarding MC powerup speed. It feels really shallow when MC goes from smart but not very powerful civilian to some kind of superhuman not even during a chapter, but between the chapters. That, on top of MC being inhumanly universally knowledgeable in several scientific fields and being able to create a mad science workshop without stupidly large funding, kinda kills the empathy for his character, at least in my eyes. Moreover, if the beginning of the story brought forward a social conflict between powerless civilians and ninjas, after the powerup it becomes just another story about monsters of different kinds fighting among themselves. That left me a little bit disappointed.
P.S. I work as a biophysicist, and the whole plasma schtick sent immeasurable waves of cringe through my understanding of plasma physics and biology. For a layman it should be alright and sciency enough, but it was really hard to get through these chapters and not drop this story for me. - Jang GwangnamRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5The story comes out of the gate with a 200 PSI swing, with tight and witty dialogue, strong characterization, and a good premise.
Everything that I liked about it is gone before the midpoint. I skipped several chapters before the final three, and I didn't feel that I had missed anything. Not because nothing was happening, but because I lost understanding of what was happening some time beforehand.
The story is best when the MC has only the power of his words, and is all too aware that everyone around him could kill him in a moment, especially because he's saying such incendiary things. As soon as he gains power of his own, this disappears. I don't understand what his powers are, I don't understand what he's doing, and the many paragraphs that are, I'm pretty sure, supposed to be explaining that, only confuse me further.
Finally, he lost his wife and two children, causing general dislike for kids, and a six year depression. But it turns out that this was not caused by, ya know, living through a traumatic event, but the ghosts of his dead children leeching off his happiness.
TL;DR read the first bit, drop it as soon as MC experimenting with abiogenesis.
