Description

Ryan Robinson had one dream: to be an adventurer.Quests, skills, quirky teammates and posting exploits on Realmnet. What’s not to love? Instead he’s broke, working at a Manaburger, and System slots cost more than his paycheck times ten thousand. Then he gets shot. Then the Trial System chooses him. Then he ends up in a Trial, with hostile Earth soldiers—from his own country no less. Ryan just wanted to play adventurer. Instead, he’s fighting with every authority figure, stabbing a sword prodigy in a deathmatch, and… immediately getting blacklisted from the Adventurer’s Guild? Suddenly Ryan's no longer just a fry cook. He's a rare Destined, tasked with figuring out how to save not one, but two worlds. It just doesn't seem that way to anyone else. But hey, in a world ruled by Tyrants, what’s a villain but aheroadventurer with an attitude? What to expect: + Ryan is a lovable [Rogue]. Weak to strong to op. + A post-integration world(s) where things have settled, but conflict is starting to bubble under the surface. + Power and choice, choice and power. Progression in both skills and character. + arrogant mages, intelligent monsters, guns, drones, selfies, [Meteors], covens, cults, shitposting epigraphs and a Gamielle. + World hopping between The Realm and Earth through gates/skills. A lot of the initial focus will be on The Realm. + A Witch Tyrant who will hex people through the internet for very mean comments. + No harem. -- Updates everyday (2.5k-3.5k chapters) while we're on rising stars! Then we'll go back to 5 a day schedule with [BEGONE CLIFF] for extra chapters (Check out chapter 27 author's notes). Long time reader, first time storyteller. I've been working on Ryan's tale for a while now and it's finally at the stage where I'm proud to share it. There's a lot of inspirations here. From system apocalypses to world hopping to cultivation and just plain epic fantasy. You'll find elements of all of them here, blended into something that I believe is fairly unique.

    This story is just... wow.
Overall: Incredible pacing, likeable characters, realistic expectations in a world of fantasy and legends. It doesn't get much better than this.
Style: 3rd person limited which is my preferred POV and prose that makes you want to sing.
Story: Well written and compelling, all of the events seem so natural and every bit of action has me on the edge of my seat. The plot is paced well and the possibilities for the future are as exciting as they are limitless.
Character: Wow. Where to begin... Our protagonist is Ryan Robinson, a boy with a good head on his shoulders,  a love for life and adventure, and just a few screws loose. The side characters are too numerous to specify, but they're all compelling and unique. I especially love the way the author writes the dichotomy of the all-powerful Tyrants and the up and coming adventurers.
Grammar: I have seen no issues of note. Nary even a typo.  No repeated phrases, unique sentences and dialogue written in a way that reads like a natural conversation.
Recommendation: Read this immediately. I have very high standards for stories on this site (not that it matters to you, I imagine) and this one exceeds even my most stringent of requirements for long term enjoyment.
    You will not be disappointed.

I haighly recomend this book, with its awesome fights, cool and deep characters and extremely interesting system making it an absolute banger. It uses tropes well and subverts them in new, exciting and refreshing ways that reminds me very much of industrial strength magic and other of the extremely well written books on this site. Highly recommend!

Here's the fascinating thing: if I were to just sum up this story quickly, it would sound a lot like a million other ones on Royal Road.
    But it's not.
It's hard to pin down all the little ways in which this story is special, and so I'm going to just pick out a few that are at the top of my head and aren't spoiler-y.
    1. The world ties into existing tropes well enough that it feels familiar, but is still very different than any other story I've read.  Information about it feels natural, like you're being reminded of something you'd learned in the past (as opposed to getting an info dump) and it has the right amount of throwaway lines about stuff that don't matter to the plot yet to serve as a reminder that this is a whole big world that we've only seen bits of so far.
    2. The main character is consistently overpowered and better than (almost) everyone he faces, and yet amazingly it doesn't feel like there's no challenge or stakes.  Also, unlike so so many stories with a powerful main character, he doesn't come across as a smug prick... or... well, he does sometimes to other characters, but it's on mostly on purpose and the point of view shows you that there's a lot more going on in his head.  He doesn't take his skill or power for granted, he isn't perfect, and he cares about people.
    3. Powerful beings are introduced immediately, people and things that the main character couldn't possibly hope to deal with, and you know that eventually the story will get to them.  There's built-in justification for why those things can't (or won't) just kill the main character now before he gets stronger, so you get all the benefit of seeing the threats that are up ahead without any ridiculous contrived "I'll send my weakest men first" shenanigans.
That's enough for now.  It's very good.  Go read it.

When ever it seems like the author is about to get bogged down by the normal tropes common for these kinds of stories,  here comes a nice, well thought out twist to keep it going.  Plus, with how well thought the character 's decisions are you never have to stare at the screen lambasting how stupid of a decision that was.

If you like the first five chapters, you will like at least the next 55. The story starts with a fun protag and he stays that way.I love the world building. Having it be only three classes, and rewards being earned by being lucky and good is fun. No silly "I breath better then you so I'm stronger".This story skips the tedious intro. No system and swearing, shocked npcs who think they are special, who can train for a thousand years without going insane. No thousands of blue boxes that tell way too much and repeat the same pointless info with bigger numbers. If you are lucky, and practiced, and beat the odds, you are offered better skills and loot by the system then if you took the safe road. Most people that try hard die early on. It's a good way to make the protag OP IMHO.Also the two lives system is fantastic. It makes it so more people are willing to try hard, at least at the start, because they have a backup life.

Very good. The main character fights like a character from JoJo physically and verbally. So far interesting and mysterious world. The characters feel smart and individual.
This has to be 50 words? My goodness.
The litrpg stuff isn't too much like some and has good real world justification. Good. Good

This is extremely palatable LitRPG for someone who is burnt out on crunchy lists of skills and numbers. It has great skills, fun progression, exciting mechanics, and engrossing fight scenes. The best part in my opinion is the intrigue and the way that the story shows more than it tells. I’d highly recommend this to anyone who likes Lit RPG and progression fantasy.

Fun story with character who have their own motivations and don't always share them. I love seeing the MC have a reason for doing stupid epic shit for a purpose rather than someone just thinking it would look cool. Here is a character being reckless and taking risks because there is no other good choice or his back is to a wall (perceived or real) and its the only way out.
The support characters also have their own motivations and stick to them. It feels like real characters rather than a convenient tool to move the plot.
The magic and system mechanics are fun and thought out. I'd like a little more dive into lore and why things are the way the are. Maybe a produce or world building chapter? It was kind of spread out into little intros every chapter which I love those and its neat to see the wider world through them. But it was a slow process to get a grasp of the world and factions.
Thank you for the wonderful story and I look forward to seeing where we go from here!
PS. I thought about holding my review hostage for the next [Begone Cliff] but I guess I'm a worse negotiator than Ryan. Ha!

A spectre is haunting this novel, and this spectre is a beautiful  narrative invention, so strong and moving that it becomes one of the main characters of the story, in my opinion at the same level of the protagonist.
I hope the author manages to develop the dramatic potential of the story
of the Witch Tyrant and of her daughter
