- denkkarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0On the surface: a typical RPG player gets sucked into another world. However, the journey is absolutely terrifying. Surprisingly it's not the monsters that are scary. It's the loneliness that's the true curse. Beyond the transition to the other world, there's a very satisfying slow build up as the MC grows in power and relationships with other characters. No OP'ness here, although the MC does have seemingly unique skills that keep things interesting.
BTW: story currently lacks cover art. Where's my hot elf chick pic? :) - PepperyPotatoRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Our protagonist finds himself cast adrift into another world in a novel manner and the story so far (up until chapter 10) is slowly building up more plot while continuing to develop the characters.
If the quality and plot keeps the current pace, this will be an excellent story! - Quartz RingRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I have really high hopes that the writer will come back and finish this little gem. It has a very interesting premise in the mixing of light, and dark affinity attunement. It was getting really interesting when she met master crow, and everything in between. It's a fantastical adventure for those who aren't turned away by the gender bender tag, and the self deprication as the hero learns to cope being the opposite gender. No there is no NSFW stuff in this book. The Mc has huge indentity issue she needs to resolve along the way, and the last thing she wants is to get dirty.
- BeyogiRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Overall this is a pretty standard lit-RPG. After mucking up some ritual the MC finds himself or now herself fused to their VR avatar body and set adrift in a fantasy world. Once there she relatively quickly aquires levels, but doesn't seem to be too special for the world.
The main problem of this story is a very slow pacing. There's 26 chapters now and I'm still not sure if the stuff currently going on is basically the introduction to the main plot or just another side-quest. More could have happened far quicker.
The LITRPG itself seems to be surprisingly well balanced. Honestly reminding me of RL MMORPGs. Players can level in several classes, and when you get better at using said class you get level-ups that also raise your stats. This allows quick progress for the MC, but also doesn't make her feel overpowered for the world.
The character herself is okay. She's a bit bland on occassion and doesn't feel properly developed. The gender bendering isn't really developed much either. I mean on one hand this means it's readable for people who're not fans of gender bender, on the other hand there seems some wasted potential.
Style is generally okay, but the author uses a very lazy dialogue style on occasion.
Me: "I say something."
Lydia: "I also say something!"
Overall it's a decent story that avoids the most obnoxious LITRPG pratfalls, but there's also significant room for improvement.
