Description
Please note, this series is currently being rewritten. This version stops at the end of book 2 (chapter 107)
Drake, a brilliant physicist, meets a tragic end due to an experiment gone wrong. However, instead of the beautiful Angel of Death, what Drake meets is an eccentric old man from a mysterious organisation who reincarnates him into a vast world of magic and martial arts.
Embark on an epic saga with Drake as he journeys through a diverse world teeming with various races ranging from mighty dragons to enchanting mermaids. Conflicting personalities and goals intertwine with each new encounter, unravelling intricate plots which leads Drake into confronting powerful foes, clandestine organisations, and the echoes of his own morals from Earth, causing him to evolve as an individual and a cultivator.
Maybe he'll emerge as the hero that the world needs, or he just might become the demon that ends it.
This will be a long novel with lots of world, character, and plot building. So buckle up, and prepare yourself for lots of content!
You can expect:
- A MC with a very useful, but not a broken "cheat", who will slowly become stronger overtime
- A MC that occasionally faces failures and learns to grow from it.
- A MC who will be forced to question his own morals and slowly turn corrupted overtime, becoming accustomed to killing and being selfish (expect at least 90-100 chapters to really start seeing the change though)
- Limited POV shifts/focus on secondary characters in the beginning, but changes to mostly MC soon after
- Lots of action and plot, occasional swearing, few dark/graphic/torture scenes, and NO harem
(Please note that I am British, so the text will be in British English)

- WeavervaleRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Grammar 5/5
Minor things that will be fixed with a good copyedit pass. This is a solid work grammar wise.
Style 5/5: Royal road has a very specific thing about multiple POVs. The general consensus is that they want to stick to one person the entire way through a book or series. I'm not saying either one is right or wrong but this is a strong choice
POV: third close/third omni. This is one of the more interesting things. So the author has chosen two things that are off meta but yeah it kinda works for me.
The style that I think I have a problem with is the amount of telling. Now I know that this is a normal thing for a new authors but basically you could skip most of chapter one and explain that through dialogue/flashbacks.
Character 5/5:he MC is very earnest in a way that makes it feel like it's normal. I have a feeling that we could skip straight to
Plot: this seems very earnest. I think it has potential but the first thing I would do it toss out the first few chapters and put the start of the book at where the MC is learning magic or is introduced to the mentor character - Aleth08Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Story:
The start of the story reminded me of Warlock of Magus World, then the reincarnation bit had the shadow of Mushoku Tensei. I'm not sure if the author acquired inspiration from these books but I saw the resemblance, though it could just be me. That is to say, the story was fun to read, cultivation based magic system with hints of summoning spirits, the fans of the genre will definitely like it. I personally would love to see the mc going down the path of a summoner type class, but I'll let the author tell his story.
Style:
Its a simple and straightforward writing style that has potential hidden underneath, it just needs a bit more refinement and finesse. Stronger verbs, adjusted sentence structure, and a bit more strictness in the perspective style used will take it to a higher level. It seems like its the author's first book though, so I might be getting a bit too critical here. All in all, the writing does its job of delivering the story.
Grammar:
No glaring issue that could break the immersion, it read just fine, the words did their job,
Character:
It's too early to judge the depth of the characters, as it requires a lot of actions and interactions to build, so I'll refrain from commenting in detail here. But the start was promising in terms of the mc's char. If the author can leverage that and keep improving, he'll definitely be able to create an alive character.
Overall, a good read for sure, recommended for the fans of the genre. - DavidLingardAuthorRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Travellers
Two scientists cause a nuclear explosion whilst trying to investigate fusion for the betterment of mankind? Then one being sent to heaven only to be told he’s got a unique soul and gets isekai’d to a new world with magic and a centuries old shark? Yes please.
I love the start to this story, and I love the not just reincarnated but reborn aspect, where we see the MC as a baby and then some years later. It really lets you connect to the MC more on a personal level. And of course, he’s a genius.
I like the fact we get dumped I got he new world early on, and although there are remnants of how Drake had got to this new place, we’re fully invested in the fact that there’s no going back.
Furthermore, the new world being introduced with one of magic and fantasy races is the kind of world I love reading about, so lots of plusses here.
And then we meet a Minotaur (author you’re a monster!). I liked that we get to see a flashback and it really helped me resonate with the MC and what we’re about to witness in this story.
Great job author! I can’t wait for more!
Character: as mentioned above, I really like the reincarnation vibe. It reminds me of the book: The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August - a classic in my opinion.
Style: easy to read and well paced.
Story: a very interesting read and plenty of world building, setting us up for a classic!
Grammar: I haven’t seen any issues, so top marks from me! - HouseOfBonesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Travelers is an Isekai story that is well written and enjoyable to read. I had fun navigating through the first five chapters, reading the character dynamic, the cultivation/magic system, and battles.
The lore and story are both well thought of, and the author crafted the chapters to be easily read and fun to imagine.
The magic/cultivation system drew me in instantly, firstly because i am a sucker for a good magic system and second because the author spend enough time and effort crafting it and perfecting it.
The story follows a scientist who found him born anew in a fantasy world, with his memories intact. He is smart, being a scientist in his previous life, and it fun to follow across his journey.
The other characters are well crafted, and their interactions felt real to read through, which i always like. And the world itself is well flushed out.
Grammar wise i found no mistakes to report, and the flow of the story is smooth, though a times can be a little confusing, but that is just me.
Overall, i enjoyed Travelers and what it had to offer, and you will too if you were interested in such stories, you just need to give it a chance and it will not fail to impress you. - Lucian T. In conclusion, "Travellers" is a spellbinding tale that blends elements of science fiction, fantasy, and mystery seamlessly. With its engaging storyline, well-rounded characters, and immersive world-building, this novel is a must-read for fans of isekai and cultivation genres. - Stark GottoRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Let’s see where the story goes! It is intriguing and very interesting so far, but we are still too early at the beginning to give a more detailed review.
For sure will be coming back for the future chapters to see where the story goes, worth a read!
Thank you author for the chapters and keep on grinding, you have an excellent start of a very amazing story! - ALJohnstonRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Overall I’ve found Travellers quite enjoyable. It hits all of the good tropes for isekai without hitting the bad. I enjoy the fact that our protagonist isn’t just sine nobody who got transported here but instead a brilliant scientist who is now faces with a unique world filled with magic and lore. Actually being born with all previous memories and being rare to use magic as a human reminds me of the good parts of Worlds Finest Assassin before they decided to make the story filled with incest.
Great world, great characters, extremely well written. Like I feel like I can properly visualize nearly every scene/character which is very nice. My only real issue a is isekai is a very saturated genre and nothing has really stood out so far as super unique to this story other than the mc is a genius instead of just some average joe, there is so much in the genre that some tropes pop up in almost every story but it’s honestly to be expected at this point. To that point tho, I still found myself wanting to continue reading because of just how good the author is at creating a scene that feels real.
If you like isekai you should definitely enjoy the story and even if the genre isn’t your cup of tea you will likely love the characters/world. - SRadioactiveRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5OVERALL SCORE - I think this is a very clean and original isekai cultivation fantasy. I am only recently getting into that particular type of story, and it does have a bit of a learning curve, but the author brings you in with plenty of information, characters, and world building to set up an epic. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a progression reincarnation read!
STYLE SCORE - The story has a unique flow, moving pretty seamlessly between history, events, and character development. The author’s style is very true to the genre and polished in that sense. I wish the magic system was introduced more gradually as it felt a bit overwhelming to get it all at once. Coming from a background of not being too familiar with isekai, I had to read this a couple of times.
STORY SCORE - Once the story takes off, it REALLY takes off! There is plenty of action and conflict. The author promises us a villainous lead, and even early on, it is evident that they will deliver just that. The amount of information about cultivation slowed it down quite a bit, and I think that may be a deterrent for some.
GRAMMAR SCORE - I noticed no issues with the grammar. It is evident that the author excels in this area. The only thing I noticed were some repeating words fairly close together which felt a little awkward. But I think a part of the reason it stood out was listening to the book rather than reading it in text, so it is not a big deal at all.
CHARACTER SCORE - The characters are diverse and introduced to us early on. I can appreciate this set up so that the reader can grow to learn more about each one of them in turn. I especially liked that Drake had a very developed life before his death and reincarnation. This continues with him even after when a lot of stories like this tend to erase a lot of the prior experience and water down the main character to fit their new role. - AspirantLuminaryRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Overall, a well-executed start to an Isekai with a twist. I can't speak to the morals/alignment of the MC this early on. So far, he seems like a normal person in behavior and thought.
Style: There is a rhythm to the writing which creates a very relaxing read. Nothing too complex, which fits the story well. Worldbuilding is a bit more told than shown for my taste, but isn't egregious.
Story: The start of the story makes a few implications that hint at where the story will end up. I'm curious how big of a role the first 'people' met will play in the grand scheme of things. Just their existence sets the scale for the world while still leaving many questions. Pacing is handled well, especially with the rebirth. Sometimes people draw the childhood years out, which is not the case for this story.
Grammar: Nothing that breaks immersion or distracts from the story. Quite solid!
Characters: Everyone introduced so far is distinct; however, there is something that feels similar about many of them. Providing more contrast in their dialogue or actions would breathe a bit more life into the story. All the characters have well-crafted cores that just need a little polish. On the other hand, every decision and conversation is authentic to the characters. Nothing appears to be forced or cobbled together in the slightest. - EldesRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Ahh, here we are.
Travellers is a slowly-opened premise with worldbuilding and careful structures that intertwine within the main character's life, or will intertwine with future events. The basis for the main character's goal is laid-out quickly, and conflict presents itself (in these first few chapters) within the MC.
The system is built meticulously through concepts and ranks within said concepts in order to allow for better recollection and recognition down the line, while the main character adjusts fully to this new world.
In terms of the style and grammar, the latter is impeccable, very few errors if any found within it. But the style slows the pace, allowing for an educational experience upon reading. It truly takes its time to set up, and this may be slightly more detrimental to the more impatient readers. However, if you hold your patience, you may be treated to the gem of the plot it is.
However, I do have a few gripes in regards to the characters- some seem to flip back and forth between conflicting traits rather roughly, not allowing for as thorough of an explanation as the system. The system is very "told", over shown, and I expected the "shown" part to be in regards to the characters, though it was a bit more poorly-executed than I would've liked. While some characters were executed very well, the inconsistencies amongst the others felt a bit disappointing compared to the few that stood out to me.
But other than that, I found it to be entertaining and a fascinating read, disregarding my critiques. Overall, it's certainly a slow-paced gem that, while it takes some time to get into, is still worth the wait.
