Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor Gao-Yuan

This story is set in the countryside and tells the story of how a Chinese medicine doctor "Gao-Yuan" faced the changes in the political and medical systems over the past thirty years, from the founding of the People's Republic of China to the Cultural Revolution and then to the early stage of reform and opening-up. Gao-Yuan has experienced two lives: in his first life, he followed his nature, but encountered setbacks everywhere, and was not able to save his relatives. In his second life, Gao-Yuan got a chance to be reborn.  Gao-Yuan adapted to the changes of the times, actively treated his relatives, and never forgot his original intention, grew from an ordinary doctor to a master of Chinese medicine.

At the same time, it also describes the ups and downs of the life stories of several doctors from various social groups at ‘Zhang-Zhuang Clinic’ where Gao-Yuan works.
