This story while starting slow isn't jarring and reads like it's actually from the main's perspective. I like the concept. I recommend you read it. I am a binge reader. It also doesn't have a harem which is a plus for me. I think the story so far is very unique. One thing I would like to see is an apprentice for him or a tournament for him down the line. I really mean more instances where we see him match his power agaisnt others and there has already been a few epic fights and I anticipate the next one.

Creative premise, engaging action, but most importantly it's got a lot of heart.
A lot of that comes from how Rick handles his disadvantages.
Being mute and a little agoraphobic don't automatically make him likable. It's seeing him work hard to be understood, the joy and love he has in giving his creations life, and most of all the genuine care in which he treats others when he's able to overcome his fears.
Only change I'd make is to some of the arc transitions.
Twice now he's just wandered into the woods after some climactic encounter. The chapters of him just going around the woods are good in that it lets the readers decompress but there's hardly ever any emotional catharsis to go along with it.
For example I'd have loved to see Rick give one last paternal lesson to Benji before having to leave, maybe something about how all things have to end or even just how proud Rick was of him.
Then during that decompression period in the woods have him ruminate on what it means to be a father, his own father or lack thereof, or other emotionally poignant things the mind tends to think of when leaving a place of love and safety.
I'm eager to see where Rick goes next.
    Have a good one.

I think the author went on hiatus. This story is not finished and ends on a cliffhanger. (Edit. Author is back! As of yesterday I believe. Welcome back!)
It was a great story, sad, emotional, with enough story threads spread to make something amazing. I'm sad it's not finished, but hopeful it yet may be. Take my 5 stars author, and return one day.
    (Edit:)
The author is back. I'm not one fir deleting my reviews. They are making strides forward and my rating it's itself is reinforced as of review on their writings

I'm not good at reviews, all i can say is that i enjoyed the character his struggle touched my heart and makes me turn to the next page to know more about him and the world he inhabits.
In other words a good story that feels alive.

The story is well written, but don't expect heavy dialogue. The views we get of Rick's inner thoughts are still told from third person, and focus more on emotions and feeling than concrete words.
Occassionally we get a chapter or three from the perspective of another character, but these alternate POV's are done quite appropriately, focusing on how Rick is perceived and the inner thoughts and feelings of those around him. I personally feel these enhance the story overall.
World building is a bit thin, very little is known as of chapter 49, but what has been revealed teases us with glimpses of the lore and state of the world. No information dumps, no unusually placed exposition. For some this is a minus, but here, the way this tale is crafted and unfolds, it isn't needed.  The story isn't about the world, but the individual people.
The main character, Rick, is very endearing. Mute, illiterate, but passionate about his craft and a simple innocence about him. He is not stupid, but neither is he a genius.
Overall, it's a somewhat bittersweet but heartwarming tale of an uncomplicated man struggling to overcome his disadvantages to pursue his passion, and the people he helps along the way. Of all the stories I've read, this is bar far one of the most unique and I would highly recommend it. Monsters, magic, combat, and heroism from the most unexpected places.
