[A winner of the April 2023 Writathon!]

When aliens induct humanity into a game for their own amusement, and bombard tutorial towers into the earth, James Wise is crushed by the impact. Instead of having his soul harvested like the rest however, the tutorial tower responsible for his death believes him to be an administrator, and makes him responsible for managing the tower for the duration of the game.

Responsible for a device that can make or break the survival of millions of humans, James struggles to give humanity as much of an advantage as possible, but when the game itself is made to entertain an alien race with the suffering of his own, and when the power he wields is dependent on how well he entertains them, how much control does he truly have?

Tower Core is a Dungeon Core adjacent LitRPG that updates on Thursdays

An interesting combination of base building, isekia, and tower-climbing genres. The RPG element are a little heavy, but I have faith that the story will continue to be good.
    Pro:
    - Interesting premise
    - Characters seem to be developing well
    Cons:
    - Short chapters (Most of it is RPG boxes, so story progress is slow)
    - No real background (MC starts in the tower, so we don't have any idea on what kind if world the MC was from, or how advanced society was. It has been hinted at that it was similar to the real one?)

I honestly really like this story. It's cute and charming and avoids a common pitfall of dungeon core. Usually, the core gets stagnant, without any goal to accomplish. In this case, the MC is constantly under pressure, because people die every time they slip up. The writing isn't perfect, but it's good enough to tell the story the author wants to tell. Good job author!

So, the MC is sort of a tower admin who has to please alien viewers while trying to save as many people as possible.
The POV climber characters seem pretty cool so far. The MC is likeable. The AI companion is interesting.
The plot so far is interesting. The dynamic of a system which uncaringly pits the climbers against unfair odds vs the system admin who is trying to help as many as possible is an enjoyable premise with a lot of potential. Looking forward to seeing how this goes.

The world building is okay, it takes place on earth. But the levels are described nicely and especially the items and herbs.
the "side characters" are described nicely and I say that with quotes because unlike other dungeon core stuff he can't manipulate anything without cost and doesn't gain anything till the end of the day. So you can only watch the side characters, cause the Mc is doing squat till he gets his daily budget.
now onto the Mc. The Mc is great at handling being squashed pretty well which is good, but the fact that he constantly tries to "help" is really going to eat into his budget and already is and like it's described " get a punishment for not being entertaining enough"
Also you would think he could automate stuff cause down the line it's constant releasing of the same quest over and over again like he's already released the same beginner quest 3 times. if the Mc is constantly going to interfere with everyone's lives with the constant quick quest of "O NO LOOK OUT FOR ____" cause he thinks that being 1 out of 100 or more towers that he can single-handedly save humanity for some reason he really should just look for the cheapest item in the menu and just send that out, like he's somewhat getting it with sending healing herbs instead of a healing potion, but still send a rock if you're just going to substitute quests with a voice but I can see him in the future getting a beat down from the higher administrators.
