Description
Book 1:Amazon
When Fio found a broken gateway back to her home world, the last thing she expected was to become one herself.
Unfortunately, she is now faced by the keepers of the gates. Creatures that seemed so elusive and uncaring before, and now want to tear the gateway from her soul, taking its power for themselves.
But Fio can't give up either of the worlds she lives in. Both hold her families and friends, and if that means she has to go through the keepers to hold onto her freedom, so be it.
She's always worked well under pressure.
What to expect: strong lesbian MC, double life between "normal" planet and fantasy world, themes of found family, cute and sad character interaction, queer people. Basically expect action adventure, meets found family and lesbian fluff, meets a bit of family drama.

- ZepheryneRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm not great at writing reviews, but I wanted to give this one a shot because I'm loving 'Tenets of Eden' with its complicated characters and intriguing world building.
There are two main things to say about Fio: First, she's a survivor -- and wow do the first several chapters make that clear just what she can and will do to succeed. Second, she cares, deeply, about those around her, even if she sometimes struggles with that or has a hard time with it. We see that particularly come through in her complicated relationships with her bio-family in The Other Place, but it's certainly present with her found family in Eden as well, particularly with Ann.
To that, I love the usage of the parallel worlds and the fact that we're getting to see Fio moving between them-- the stark differences between her life in Eden and her life in The Other Place are fascinating to read, and I'm also glad that despite what Fio seems to thing, it's not a clear-cut "Eden is so much better" because she has important ties and people she loves in both places.
As the story continues, I'm excited to see more of her relationships as they grow and develop, particularly as we spend some more time in Eden and get to see more of how she interacts with the other members of the guild, who I'm looking forward to getting to know better. But I'm also so curious to learn more about the Gateway, which surprises me every time it appears. There's so much depth there and we've only just scratched the surface.
Overall, highly recommend 'Tenets of Eden' and I'm super excited to read more! - BookofStrangeThingsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story is pretty fun so far, with an interesting setting and decently well done worldbuilding (at the very least decent). Definitely gonna binge-read the rest and then lament that there isnt more.
The story took a second to really grab my attention, the first chapter actually having been a tiny bit confusing when I read it. I didnt know what was going on, where in the story I was, etc, but once I got a few chapters further in it was actually pretty good. The mirror stuff is great, the main character's viewpoint is fun to read, and the characters around her are ones I can see myself falling in love woth reading about. Already I can feel voices developing for each of them.
Worldvuilding wise, Im a big fan of worlds where monsters have a reason, where they arent just a natural part of the world but something that was brought about at some point. This story has got that as Im seeing teased out where I am right now. - Dads Bedtime StoriesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love this story and am so jealous of it!
This story came from the June writing contest, and who would believe that it is still kicking so much tail?! Usually, most of those stories do not survive past the original release time unless there is something special about it.
This is one of those stories!
The Author has another great story (who doesn't like cats) but we won't talk about that one right now. Both have great worlds that are well described and lend so much assistance to imagining one is in their world.
Their use of words leaves me in awe sometimes as I can picture myself standing by the MC, seeing what they see and feeling what they feel. That is what all authors hope to experience and feel.
The world is big and vast. There are high stakes as Fio experiences changes that make this story even better. The characters added as the MC forges a new path help to build some tense moments and leave you waiting for that next chapter.
Grammar is awesome, and I know it isn't easy to write well. The movements, up and down beats of action, and rest / recover times help to create a story that isn't go go go all the time but actually breathes like a real-life event. Sometimes people want numbers to just go up super fast and dont care about stuff other than killing, but what takes place in this story is aided by those moments.
Overall I have enjoyed reading this story since it was first released and will keep on reading chapters as I can!
Keep up the great writing! - KeronRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I was promised gay cultivation and that's what I got!
Combat is well written, and I really love your take on describing cultivation paths. It makes the key element of cultivation, the cultivation itself, seem a lot more involved and interesting, which I think is rarely done so well.
The characters all feel interesting and varied, and watching all of their interactions is great fun, though I definitely have favourites (grumpy gramps!).
Overall, I'm loving the story so far and can't wait for more! - SkelletRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I really liked the character dynamics in this book! The interpersonal relationships between all the characters feel nice and real. I like Fios Dad, deadbeat trying his best.
The abilities are all pretty cool and well-thought out, and the distinctions between martial and magical is really nice, especially since it gives martials the power to grow stronger as well.
Good stuff. - SynonymooseRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The very first think I noticed about Tenets and what drew me in was the concept. The authors take on what was a writing prompt as part of a RR challenge is incredibly unique and provides an interesting idea for a story. What truly makes this fiction a must read is the authors ability to take that idea and breathe life into it with their incredible worldbuilding. The characters all have a depth to them that makes their interactions feel like that of real people with their own want and needs. I love the way the author uses the cultivation paths to reflect (ha) the main characters personality just as they show it through their actions.
Tldr: this is a must read for me and is an amazing display of an interesting idea brought to life with masterful writing. - Aleah CatRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The setting of this story feels immersive and well thought out. The mysteries keep you invested and the interactions feel very true to the characters involved. The tension and emotion feel great thanks to the way everything is written, from the harrowing misadventures to the complex family relationships.
Very much looking forward to exploring more of this series and taking some inspiration for my own. So many great sparks of creativity to be found in every moment.
Absolutely worth the time to read this.
Grammar isn’t perfect—though few things ever are—but none of the minor issues hurt the ability for a person to read the story. I very rarely see a sentence missing a word or simply written a way that isn’t quite right.
Fio is a fantastic character and the genre of progression fantasy reflects that well. She’s tenacious and nothing really seems to drag her down. It’s perfect main character material, but it doesn’t mean she has no weak points. She feels quite dynamic and her perspective shows a maturity and willingness to seek out the advice of others.
A major flaw of some writing is when seemingly intelligent characters don’t communicate well and end up doing stupid things alone. You see the trope most on television, and that gets stale. Fio actively seeks out the advice of people she trusts and it’s refreshing. I haven’t read far enough to see where things are heading, but every choice seems fairly well planned out by the author. The actions taken by the characters don’t feel contrived or forced, which is worth a gold star in my book. Or a bunch of them on the rating system…
I find myself quite interested in digging into more chapters whenever I have time! - DiniRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So this story is good. Like really good. The characters feel like real people you could know, the worldbuilding is fantastic and is a beautiful escapist fantasy, the correctness of the writing is impeccable with barely any mistakes and the overall style is wonderfully varied - sometimes comedic and fun, but can also turn gritty and real. The story itself keeps building tension well with every chapter advancing your interest further.
I especially like the realistic portrayal of romantic subplots and the fun and engaging side characters that could carry their own story. Furthermore, the parallels between the ruined earth-like place and the fantasy game world is interesting, further elevated by the fairly unique mirror concept. The usual Litrpg genre is turned on its head by unique features mixing the usual game mechanics with magic.
The fight scenes are also fast-paced and fun with a great progression for the main character, Fio. Fio, especially, is such a refreshing take on a female lesbian main character, who can get beat down and dirty without being oversexualized like in many fictions on here. The representation of queer experiences in general is also done in a very thoughful manner
In total, I would only recommend this story to everyone who loves an escape from our capitalistic hellscape of a world. - KaelikRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Very good! Characters are lovely, world is interesting, and I really like the way the "home life" play against the adventuring, both in eden and back home with family.
My intense anticipation for two ongoing back home plotlines is as strong as for the stuff happening in the adventure side, and they play together in exciting ways. - DeimonRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5A very fun ready, all in all!
The setting ist very interesting especially with the difference between both worlds. One ist a fantasy-filled adventure with friends, the other a grim world with family and (until now) no overlapping characters. Except the MC of course.
In my opinion, one of the bigger areas of improvement is the worldbuilding. The Story gives little information about the keepers and how the connection of both worlds, like
that Eden ist a Secret known to few people in the real world as revealed in chapter 34, which feels quite late.
A prolouge or some interludes would bei interesting to make the world more immersive. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward how the story unfolds.
