- LucianoWritesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is just an utterly fantastic dungeon-core story. That's the tea, right there.
I made this an advanced review because I genuinely love everything about it and I want readers who see this review to see that I stan this story. I'm up to date as 1.28 Delve, and it's a fantastic, engaging read that stands head and feet above the overwhelmingly majority of dungeon core stories both on and off Royal Road.
Everything from the A-crew, dungeon core's family of little monster pals, to the supporting cast, is astoundingly well-written. The story proceeds at a solid pace, much faster than a lot of dungeon-core stories, and it's perfect for keeping the reader engaged. I read this in one sitting and it took me about 2 and a half hours of more or less constant reading as of the point the story is in where I am.
If you're interested in a regularly updated story that awesomely handles dungeons this story will be up your alley. - NeonDustRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Pro's:
1)Dungeon Does not hesitate to kill people
2)Dungeon has no sense of mercy
3)Very well thought out Monsters and evolution pathways
4)Does not get OP very quick and not weak AT ALL.
5)Very good Layout and Enviroment building(Nothing about the world is revealed at this point)
6)Very well though out system.ALthough the story contains a sort of system, its not filled with dubious amounts of stats and unnecessary skills, being very clean and to the point.
7)Not at all Predictible, and not all ventures are entirely successful and without losses, making it much more realistic.
8)No human memory holding him back or empathy or any emotion so far.The dungeon seems like an amalgamtion of primal insticts intrinsic to it,which is very nice. - Gamer1996Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Honestly I like the way the story is described at the moment. The being created is most fascinating.
The environment descriptions are sometimes too long and sometimes too short. It's hard to make a perfect balance. Personally I think some environmental descriptions could be shorter.
Characters a sooooooo well made I love them and hate them all as the author intends. There are mysteries behind each one I want to know about. Fantastic work on that end. - KoronorRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well I can tell from the first chapters (up to 0.5) that this story is a hit! There are a few points in the chapters where I've spotted a few typos, but nobody is immune to those little scourges.
[Insert dungeon name here] is a core that was inspired by the ring he adorned to make his dungeon sssssssssnake themed. So five stars, because snakes are awesome. Though ironically, the nameless dungeon core has named his followers.
And it's weird that the author can convey the personalities of simple creatures like rats and snakes with no dialogue. Impressive, to say the least. I've grown attached to the characters in the short amount of time I've known them, and I'll definitely be favoriting this one.
If you're a fan of in-site references, ingenuity, and originality, then this is the dungeon core novel for you. A good start for anybody who hasn't read a dungeon core novel before, too, since it's explained well enough for both beginners and veterans! It's also very well paced, so you don't find yourself getting bored at all. In fact, it makes me want to write my own novel... I'll be back! - baguetteRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This is a webnovel that intertwines your traditional dungeon building stuff with an interesting plot of how a dungeon core interacts with the human world. It’s still early on but no plot development has disappointed or annoyed me so far. There also isn’t an annoying side character that makes fun of the MC remorselessly with no consequences for no reason so 5/5
- vladeragRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5456 pages in and the dungeon for is less a criminal kingpin and more... Well, a dungeon core, I guess. And one hell of an overpowered one at that.
Still, it's a fun enough read if you like dungeon core web novels, just don't expect anything like the summary suggests or complex characters. Just waves of adventurers getting eaten by a dungeon core and it's rat queen minion. - K4m30Royal Road★★★★ 3.5So I have 2 comments,
One. Its well written, and entertaining. I recommend reading it.
Two. It Isnt what what was advertised.
When a Dungeon Core acquires a taste for beautiful jewels, it sets out to become a criminal kingpin, operating from the sewers beneath the city.
So far as of 1.35, 50 chapters in, it is a dungeon story about a dungeon located in the sewers under a city.
The dungeon sometimes steals jewels, but that was one chapter. This is a dungeon story, not the story of a dungeon criminal or any sort of crime really. Spoiler but the one heist was done by a minion independent of the dungeon. - CalvinCopyrightRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Title says it all, really.
Every single character in this story attempts to screw every other character over. Every single one. Slavery, backstabbing, murder, soul-selling contracts, you name it.
The dungeon pays lip service to a theme of liking gems and beauty, but instead becomes beautiful in an 'eldritch horror' sort of way and devolves into nothing better than a series of escalatingly lethal traps with no true give and take with the local civilization.
The story is marked as completed by Royal Road, but it feels like it 'finished' in the middle and left half the plot threads dangling. The chapters are divided into 'books', though, so it may be continued in the future. Disregard this part of the review if there are over 108 chapters total.
Despite these problems, it is better than a great many other dungeon core stories, but I still can't honestly recommend it unless you liked reading Worm, and maybe not even then. - Carson6319Royal Road★★★ 3.0Its grammatically well written, with diverse side characthers, and a relatively clear plot direction. If your after another story about dungeon development go for it.
Personally, I found it underwhelming. Theres is not much of a hook to this story. The dungeon's goals of beauty, challenging the gods, and being just a general dungeon are not really relatable. They lack any kind of hook for the reader. Beauty is a hard concept to fully represent in a novel and it something that technically was achieved within his first level. Challenging the gods, seems to be motiviated by a combitnation of narcassim and general agitation at being incomplete, something that would require a bit of work to become engaging but instead was emotionally glossed over. Being a general dungeon, cool you dug another level, cool you made another creature, I'll add it to the tally.
The story in my mind would have been better if it actually did focus on a thieving guildish dungeon. I.e sneaky, unseen, motivated by the desires for shiny, creating a network of spies and thieves. Few even know its there. It seems to have started in this direction with Argent, Izzy, and the Cpt. Unfortunately it shifts with Izzy and Cpt get booted to the back only mentioned occasionally and the story shifts heavily to everyone in the city knows I am here, lets fight adventurers with elements of a thief but really just a theme on a dungeon.
At that point, the story and MC really lack anything cool or fresh. In truth, the side characthers of argent the rat queen of thieves, Adamant the mini golemn smith, and the orc trying to find bravery are more engaging/interesting then the MC. They have something different, relatable, or just plain epic about them compared to standard dungeon with slight theme twist. - MihoshikaRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Powered my way through 'til the end. It was a good story, but the way it was presented was unpleasant, to say the least. Seemed really disjointed.
