Description
Best friends Pete and Zoey do everything together. They go to the same school, play the same video games, and work the same job as delivery drivers at the local pizzeria. After an encounter with a mysterious, talking cat named Max, Pete and Zoey find themselves in a world named Round, a place that reminds them of an MMORPG-a massive multiplayer online role-playing game.
The only way they can return home is if they save Round...But before they can level up and become heroes, Pete and Zoey must learn to navigate tomato plant monsters, raccoon warlords, and countless display prompts. Those same display prompts tell Pete that his job is a pizzaman, but how can he be a pizzaman in a world where pizza doesn't exist?

- KuroochiiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0They think I invented pizza is a very funny and well put together book. It’ll be one of the books I end up reading to my niece and nephew when they get old enough for it. The RPG aspect of the book is really funny and cool system. If there’s one book I would read to them to introduce RPG’s it would be this one. I can’t wait to read the second one and other books from the author Josh Walker.
- MightyBobBarkerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story does a fun take on the LitRPG genre. The stakes are just high enough for kids to enjoy the story as the main character heads out looking for ingredients to teach the locals about the wonders of pizza.
Pete and Zoey are great characters that will be great adventure companions through an imagination. The creative use of the RPG mechanics is sure to make kids laugh and inspire their own adventures in the future. - Mississippi84Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I listened to the audiobook of book one. My rating is based on that. My 8 and 10 year old listen to this book all the time and they love the characters. I was really excited to find book 2 up here. When they get home from school, I’m going to let them know and see if I can get them reading instead of doing the audiobook. Great story for kids.
- Righteous ProvinceRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0When the foreword said this was for kids, I didn't expect something so adult friendly. I can see the world building paying out down the line with the moderators introduced as characters later on. Solid RPG mechanics show the author has played a lot of video games. I'm guessing a lot of the spells are the standard D&D or Final Fantasy spells, but I think it will be fun for the kids to see those spells with names like Fix an Owie and stuff. Super fun read. My kids love the series. I have a 10 year old, and he's read the first paperback so much that I had to buy a second one. If not for you, try this with your kids.
- TomBlackRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's an interesting concept that's novel and very well done. Love the way common, every day items can be used as weapons. MC is the Jackie Chan of pizzarias.
The RPG facets are well done and comical, with some interesting characters in the roles of antagonists.
I'mma slap myself to sleep now. Bye. - Carl AntuarRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0It's tricky to properly evaluate a story aimed at a young audience, when it's so different from most of what I read - but would I be okay with my children reading this? Yes, yes I would. It's a bit funny, a bit wacky, sometimes a bit intense for someone around age ten, and sometimes it's definitely cheesy, but it's a solid slice-of-LitRPG offering.
