Description

When humanity first ventured into space, they discovered the Galactic Commonwealth—an ancient and powerful alliance that barely noticed them. The embryonic Republic of Humanity, a mere curiosity to the far more advanced members of the Commonwealth, was quickly forgotten about or viewed with pity as they struggled to expand and colonize their area of space. One Commonwealth species, the arboreal Eleani, took an active interest in this fledgling polity as humanity fearlessly cast themselves into the expanse. They reached out in friendship, offering guidance to the nascent Republic. In humanity, they saw a reflection of themselves long ago—and they were determined to help their younger cousin-kin avoid the mistakes they once made. This unsolicited act of kindness was never forgotten by humanity as they expanded and traversed the void, with the two species becoming fast friends as the Eleani watched their cousin-kin earn their place among the stars with benevolent pride. Decades later, the Insectoid Empire launched another period of swarming and attacked the Galactic Commonwealth again. An aggressive, spacefaring hive-mind species of wasp analogues controlled by intelligent queens, this time they did not stop after seizing a few uninhabited border planets like they have always done before. Instead, they tore right into the very heart of the Commonwealth itself, intent on extermination. Killing over 100 billion souls across dozens of worlds as they advanced without mercy, they destroyed over half of the vaunted Commonwealth Navy in a pivotal battle and continued to lay waste to entire worlds. The depleted and battered Commonwealth Navy retreated to the core worlds, abandoning the periphery and leaving species like the Eleani at the mercy of the swarm. Instead of following the fleet into the heavily defended core regions as expected, the Insectoids swarmed through the now undefended periphery to exterminate the last remaining species. As the Insectoid fleet headed towards their world, the Eleani broadcast pleas for help to anyone who would listen as they begged the Commonwealth government for protection, which declined to come to their defense. Resigned to their extinction, all hope was lost until they received a message from an unexpected savior, the Republic of Humanity. The Republic fleet was on its way. The humans had answered the call.

I'm beyond impressed with how the author took what was originally a reddit story (yes, Reddit. Let that sink in!) and turned it into what is now two completed parts. (Plus, the prologue for part three dropped yesterday!!!! I cannot wait to get there :D) long-form story that I think would perform well as a published book so far with some grammatical tweaks (as are always occurring for writers, hence why editors still have jobs).
I'm about halfway through the first part, I believe, and I'm blown away with how well-described each of these galactic civilizations we have come across are. From the Xenxin to the Eleani and even the V'rn, despite them only briefly appearing as background characters in a single chapter, each of them feel like they have their own culture and lives and beliefs! Additionally, the split points of view are really well done for how varied they are! I mean, in the first thirteen chapters, I wanna say we've had around 6 different points of view (perhaps more than that) and yet the story doesn't feel like it's stuttering or jumping around, it all feels fluid and well-connected.
Major kudos to the author for a great story so far, and... I'm going back to reading. This is a banger, and I desperately want to get caught up as quickly as I can!

The story, style, and characters are incredible. However, the grammar is not the best. I know the author is rushed so I will not put the rating lower. It is an incredible story, keep it up! The style of the story is a bit similar to many Sci-Fi stories, but it is still unique. The characters are very well built and are very thought out. In conclusion, this story is incredible.

True sci-fi, nice large immersive world with lots of lore and side stories.
Lots of space fairing and alot of different races and technology. Nice space battles and galactic politics. Good plottwists in a style that keeps me reading. Lots of loose ends at this moment that keeps me curious for more.
    Really great read!

It’s a banger. Fun interesting story. Great characters and fantastic world building. Always read the next chapter as soon as it drops.
The use of religion in sifi is very unique in my opinion. The trope is religion diapers as society evolves. But this world has the opposite take. Which I find to be a unique feature.

This is starting very well (I'm at part 8), I like the roller coaster, the different vantage point of view of events between species.
The hive part is also very interesting, it is well explained how they work.
Characters are well developed without being "too much" thus we feel for them.
    Yes, I'm all in.

Great story so far! I'm hoping to see many more chapters as well as the current chapters get flushed out more. Talented writer! Love the story had me pounding on my desk, a very emotionally captivating story. Would love to see a little more character development but we are pretty early in the story so far so I'm sure that will come with time! I am hoping that eventually we will get some added details either back into the previous chapters or later in the book, but I am excited for the next post! Wish there was a schedule, hoping to see a bunch more work from the author! This is a very captivating story, many raw emotions are captured and I love the Scifi futuristic feel! As well as the explanation of the universe that is being portrayed, I can see this turning into a series very easily and I truly hope that is exactly what happens. I feel that the author has done an exceptional job transporting me to this world, I love the amount of emotion and the depth to the scenes being described, it feels like a chess game from the view of both sided and I love it! Thank you!

Interesting story, well written and easy to follow. The world building is amazing and the characters feel alive, with the story viewing several perspectives.
I think this story would make an awesome comic with how detailed it is all written.
2.5 books out at the time of this review and I can't wait to see how this journey ends.

This series drew me in with the first chapter. It's a simple chapter however it gave a me a positive feeling. Being there for someone. Then as the series went on and I got to learn of how the republic came to be it resonated with me. Reading how a leader grabbed a chair and beat the other bastard for daring to follow the old ways in serving the one percent instead of the whole of humanity freaking hooked me in. It really is a beautiful series that at some points makes you think about what would you do in that situation. Which honestly doesn't happen enough nowadays. You are questioned if you are open minded.

I found this story from YouTube, and was totally enthralled to the point that after the videos I had to find the source. I had a very entertained couple of weeks catching up. I am frequently checking every few days for new chapters. The author regularly interacts in the comments and takes on reviews and suggestions from the readers. I cant wait to see what happens.
What makes this a great hfy story is the highs and lows of the losses and glorious victories.
I would love to see the Aurora/Luna insectoids become the new 'Wan'Sho' to the Human Republic. And secretly want the the human republic to revive the Wan'Sho due to Humans medical knowledge and living with their pre-sapient canine relatives and seeding them on an unclaimed world to develop their own culture as the Ma'Lit did to Humans.
