Zyr is fresh into his third cycle of life—young, single, and ready to mingle in order to incorporate the genetic diversity of other species into his own. All he really wants to do is settle into life with his new crew, learn as much as he possibly can, and maybe make a few hybrid offspring in the process.

But when a ship’s captain and over half of its crew are human, nothing is ever so simple.

As his fascination with humanity ultimately entangles him in their lives and struggles, Zyr begins to change in ways he didn’t exactly plan. Without meaning to, he quickly becomes a pivotal player in the galactic game of control over the fate of the human species. And when the time comes to choose sides, Zyr must make the impossible decision between loyalty to his new-found family or his old…at the risk of defying the very eldritch stars themselves.

This is an HFY (humanity, f*ck yeah!) story set in a nobledark universe with a powerful, pansexual non-human protagonist.

Chapters with explicitly sexual content, when they come up, will be marked “nsfw” in the chapter title.Expect polyamory, all of the sexualities, and of course, weird tentacle stuff

This story is quite funny at times, and the characters are a joy to get to know through the story. The main character's perspective is unique and the source of most of the humor I found in this work. The plot is intriguing, though traveling a little fast, and sometimes I feel that some information is lost in the transcription from the author's mind to the page, but it's never an issue for comprehension. I'm quite excited to see this story continue :)

I'm enjoying this immensely, and I can vaguely get his thought patterns changing. It's subtle and you've pulled it off well. Can't wait to see were this goes.
I bet his mother will be more receptive than he expects to support humans once they observe how interacting with the has changed him, but they could also decide that human traits are to dominating and just boot him out. Wich means he wouldn't be beholden to their laws anymore just the genetic memories he has wich he's shown he can fight against.

Expand spoiler to get hints why this story is GrimDark and Dystopia. There's quite a list, but only three things actually bothered me:
Assisted suicide
Cannibalism
Murder
Enslavement
Concentration camps
Kidnapping

Most of these things probably aren't going to anger you. After all, there are a lot of stories where these things happen so that the heroes can save the day. But three things triggered for me that I thought I'd mention them.
I really didn't like the assisted suicides.
And it's multiplicitively worse when parts of the freshly killed suicides are then eaten by the assistant.
The other thing that triggered me was the beginning relationship between the main character and the mature adult lead female. The main character is essentially an innocent young man, fresh off the farm and exploring the dirty underbelly of space. He finds a starship captain who immediately 'dresses' him up as a character in her favorite soft porn StarTrek/Twilight crossover fanfic novels. This was very creepy, imo. Funny, yes! But also creepy.
For the good parts of this story:

Very rarely has a story made me laugh this hard or this often, while presenting interesting and consistent worldbuilding. The entire time the laughs keep on coming, Kittra's tricking you into learning and caring about interesting alien characters and insanely relatable humans in a dark but compassionate look at what we make of ourselves after we ruin our own planet and live among the stars. I came for the hentaicles and stayed for the consentacles.

This is a nice comedic romance, with an eldritch tentacled main character. Lots of slice of life thus far, but hints of a coalescing plot have surfaced. Character interactions are awesome, they are done very well in my opinion.
Overall, it's definately worth reading, unless the description doesn't sound like your cup of tea. Even then, I would advise trying a couple of chapters, as it really is quite good. Enjoy!

I quite like this story. It's incredibly new in its content, a fancy way of saying I enjoy the premise and appreciate how it differs from anything else I have read. I don't have time to get realy into it but I am happy to say that this story is what it appears to be, and if anything in its introduction interests you then you wont be disappointed. The only reason I don't have it as 5 stars is the difficulty of truly grasping the appearance of some of the characters purely from how they are described. Lucky for us the author has added pictures of them as the story progresses and its become much easier to visualize what the words are trying to depict.

Author does an amazing job with descriptions that are detailed but still keep you immersed in the flow of the story. Reading Zyr's perspective of things is very entertaining and i'm very excited to see more of his experiences with the crew/family he's joined. The other characters have colorful and interesting personalities so far, and i'm always excited to read interactions.
In conclusion, its a must read and i'm very excited for the next chapter!

So if nothing else read the first handful of chapters to see if you like it. The story is from the perspective of a completely alien being and these chapters are the funniest thing I ever read on this site. How it describes and interacts with the human sitting across from it is hilarious. Besides that it has good writing, world building, and the beginning of what seems like an intriguing story.
