Description

Orestis Stathis became immortal by accident—and spent a thousand years learning why that was a curse, not a gift. His body could no longer be harmed. It could no longer feel pleasure either. With nothing at stake and nothing to gain, life slowly hollowed out. After centuries of trying to die, he wakes up in his own childhood, years before the immortality ever took hold. He has one goal: live quietly, avoid notice, and die properly this time. It should be simple. He knows more about magic, gods, and broken systems than anyone alive. He has a thousand years of experience hiding in plain sight. The problem is that hiding requires not caring. And somewhere between teaching a merchant's daughter magic she shouldn't be able to learn, quietly preventing an institution from collapsing, and accidentally engineering the outcome of a war between nations—he started caring again. Now he's the most dangerous man on the continent, and the only person who doesn't want to be. Immortality here is not power. It is a failure state. Release schedule: Monday – Wednesday – Friday

This story is truly exceptional and easily one of the best I have read in the genre. The pacing is perfectly balanced, keeping the reader engaged without feeling rushed. Additionally, the character development is superb; each personality feels distinct, authentic, and deeply memorable. I highly recommend giving this a read!

I always thought you can tell when someone has carefully thought out their characters and the world they inhabit.Makes stories more solid in a metaphysical sense. This one does this extremely well so far.The way the world and it's inhabitants interact just make sense.I dont really get why the 50 words, I've said what I meant to. If you're still reading here, give the story a read as well, it's worthwhile, I promise.

I find myself waiting eagerly for the next chapters.
I enjoy how the author handled the premise of the immortality.
I especially enjoy the thoughtfulness and logic behind why immortality became a negative to him, that without pain or sorrow there was nothing that gave him pleasure by contrast anymore.

Greatly enjoyed the story up to where it has been written to so far (chapter 51). Characters are good. Two main characters have good chemistry. Very detailed analysis of the magic system that MAC limits himself from to certain extents for practical and realistic reasons. His motives and actions follow logic and his power application is seen through his mentee and some through his actions.
I do hope the MC has reason and circumstances to fully or even partially unleash his ability. I just hope it’s not because a significant other character dies. The whole Ned Stark sudden death thing from Game of Thones is not what I want.
thanks for the story. The author is good and has put forth great effort and it shows.

I'll start by saying that this story is going on my favourites list. The style of the first twelve chapters is a little bit rough, but from 13 onwards everything is great. Give it a try.
    Style:
The story is fast paced with realistic worldbuilding. Each chapter, and sub-chapter scene, is well balanced between plot progression, character interaction and growth, and lore drops. In particular, there's been no annoying infodumps or cliffhangers and events generally don't come flying out of left field. The author plans ahead and it shows. Plus half a star because I really love the peek at your author's notes at the end of each section.
    Story:
As of leaving this review, I'm only about one and a half arcs in, but so far everything is copacetic. The first main arc has been a solid length without dragging on, which promises good things if the author holds onto that balance. I would maybe like the events to be a little bit more foreshadowed, but I don't expect that concern to extend past the beginning of the story (less words posted right now means fewer total chances to foreshadow).
"Basically an arranged marriage" is an . . . interesting . . . way to introduce a new character. I don't think we had even heard Eirene's name before that point.
    Grammar:
The grammar is good. The author aims for a quick staccato pace to their writing, and while they initially overshoots by quite a lot (the "rough style" alluded to earlier), they quickly balance out to writing very enjoyable prose. All the words are well chosen and when combined with the distinct lack of typos and random clutter it just makes for a reading experience that flows.  Not quite full marks because of the beginning, but once underway this books hits all the right notes and is a great read.
    Character:
The author has codified a system where particular care is taken with named characters and each one is given a distinct personality and proper consideration. I say that mainly to emphasize that the main characters are all real

Once Orestis stopped being woefully immortal and instead entered a time loop, he's been trying to lie low and live an ordinary life so he can finally and properly die.
He's tried suicide; doesn't work, he just loops.  So his hope is that if he can live and then die of natural causes, he'll die for real.
His first loop was a disaster; he attracted divine attention.
His current loop is doing ok so far.  He's being very careful, he's practicing his magic but not enough to extend his life.
Some problems, though - he's made a friend for the first time in (subjective) centuries. Eirene is slowly eroding away his lifelong distance from everyone else. Worse, his mother is matchmaking.
Second, he's become involved in a revenge plot against the priesthood that got his parents killed in his first life. That plus his competence at magical engineering have made him more important than he really wants to be, despite all his precautions.
Third, a god has snuck her way into his life, Eleuthera, goddess of freedom and patron of Eirene. So he has 2 strange women now making him less isolated.
Orestis should be living a quiet life that will lead him straight to his well-deserved grave.  Alas, life isn't cooperating.  And it's so funny and enjoyable for me as a reader.

I really like this story so far. I am particularly in love with how the author describes the world and what is going on within the story. I can imagine that the style in which they write would not be for everyone, with how analytical and almost segmented the descriptions are, but for me it really brings across the feeling of an encounter or scene, especially from the point of view of the main character.
The characters are all realistic and believable, with, of course, the exception of the MC, which has the excuse of being an incredibly jaded immortal, although I do find it a bit hard to believe that adults are taking him as seriously as they are, since his body age as of chapter 22 is 15. The one exception so far is the girl who is about the same age as the main character's body, so a child, and that could just be a consequence of there being hidden elements to the story that we don’t know about yet.
The story has a clear vision and is just good, and the grammar is impeccable for a web novel, from what I’ve read so far. And I will definitely be keeping up with it.

I really like this story! It's a fresh take on a known part of fiction: OP characters. I fully recommend it, it has nice pacing, fully fleshed characters and a great worldbuilding!
If you enjoy knowledgeble characters who are slightly out of touch with their humanity and slowly being brought back into the fold by loving family and friends, then this is for you. There's a ressonance there for me, since I do sometimes am guilty of pulling an "Orestis" in my social circles, which really pulls me in. Hope you find it as interesting as I did!

Liking it so far. I like MCs cautiousness and experience. I also liked how the author is treating his family. Finally, I like how the story somewhat avoids the most egregious tropes.Word  Word and Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word Word
