Description

A world is torn apart by a seemingly endless Civil War and the gods cannot sit back and watch their children suffer any longer. Having failed to bring the conflict to an end through other Champions selected by individual deities, the Pantheon of Ten have come together to summon a single individual to serve as their Champion to unite the warring factions and bring about a new age of peace. That Champion? Vance Wolfram, a University Professor of History who had his memories and past sealed upon coming to Tavaria, by nefarious forces. Now he is cast into a world with no memories of his past life and lived the life of a common-born farmboy until one fateful day he is conscripted and forced to experience the horrors of war...

Such an amazing book to far! I can't wait for the last few chapters, i binged the whole book and already want a book 2. An author that can write a book in 2 months so someone like me can binge it. Vance is such an indepth character, marsball is so great at making a book come to life. I can imagine the book and feel what the characters feel. Thank you for the book, hopefully there will be a book 2!!

The whole story has a certain flow to it which leaves you wanting more. And that, in my opinion, is the most important aspect for a story. A story can be as good as it likes, but it is wasted if it can't draw you in and keep your attention.
The story has great potential. The writing, while not sophisticated, is still solid. The characters are well written enough to be entertaining, but not ground breaking. The battles are a strength of the story, they read entertaining and are still believable. The use of the right terminology is another plus for the battles. The pacing is a special point for me, I like a slow, tought out story. This is, as far as the current chapter, the case and I hope it will stay so.
While there aren't enough pages to make a dedicated review, it is a promising start.

It's got solidpotential. The battle sequence is well done and the descriptions are good.. My only complaint about it is that the MC is empowered. I always enjoyed seeing how an MC would react in an unknown situation without any powers whatsoever, only using their wits and their will to survive and thrive.
That being said, i am only in the third chapter, so my review and opinions might change, but if the quality keeps up, i don't think i will change anything.

Back in the day, arcade games used to have demos. It was a short video sequence showing a playthrough of the game that, while possible, would depend on huge amounts of luck or skill to pull off. This story feels a bit like that: Sure, everything is sort of verosimile, in the sense that if I accept the established rules, things could happen as they have in the story. However, it just feels a little bit too easy. Without giving any major spoilers, the MC at one point suffers an ambush and after killing the ambushers, finds on one of them a map to their nearby camp. The point is that these people are supposed to have been stationed there for at least a couple weeks before meeting him, so why would one of them walk around with a map to a camp that was nearby in the first place? Is it possible? Sure. Is it likely? No, not really. It only happens because it's convenient. Unfortunately I believe I will be dropping this, as there are several little moments like that on top of the usual spelling mistakes(you're/your, fairing instead of faring, typography instead of topography etc, nothing major but, in tandem with the 'too convenient' thing, a little bit too jarring for me). Definitely give it a try tho, it has potential and an interesting premise.

Edit: I'm dropping this for now but I will come back later for another look. I feel that the inconsistencies and abnormal behaviours have piled up quite a bit upto chapter 13.
Be aware I've only read up to chapter 3, and this review will be updated as soon as anything changes.
The premise is interesting. The blend of napoleonic era gunpowder armies and magic is an intriguing concept. That being said, how the MC is written seems a bit off. A university Lecturer from Canada suddenly regains his lost memories while in the midst of a terrible battle where his friends got torn to pieces. The way he's calm and deviously planning to win the battle for his side, without much of a reaction, is a bit much. And explaining it away as a God given boon that suppresses emotions is not a satisfactory way of doing it.
I'm still following and would love to see where this story goes.

Interesting premise but the Main character just falls flat with nothing interesting about him. The author seems to give the mc advantage after advantage for no reason. An example that killed my interest in reading was when the mc read a technique Manuel in his past life allowing to instantly and perfectly preform it. What once was a dangerous situation became a boring read of a humdrum situation.
