Description

The Valkyrie and her Servant are the Ultimate Duo!

The Ardor is a desolate wasteland operated by an order of assassins known as the Hidden Hand. Seiji Otsuki is tired of being one of their assassins, forced to be their murderous little puppet. The day he decided to cut his strings, they responded – by killing him! When his eyes opened again, he found himself sat before a girl named Cora Lambros who had only a single statement for him.

“You will be my Servant for the next thirty days.”

Unlike his life in The Ardor, Seiji had a choice: Become Cora’s Servant and help her become a Valkyrie, or go back to The Ardor and face the Hidden Hand!

Thank you for clicking this story! If the cover didn't give it away, this story is ananime-inspired action romance. If you aren't a fan of heavy romance/character-focused stories, you should probably avoid this one.

I started this story because of the name and an interesting concept.  I stayed because of the characters, each important or semi-important character was interesting and had their own personalities.  The relationship between the two main protagonists is a gradual thing that you kinda know is gonna happen but is still really sweet to watch grow throughout the book.  The only downside i found is that i finished it in a single day and don't know when the author is planning on writing the second book.

When I first started reading this piece, I was like, "oh, this is going to be like Shuumatsu no Valkyrie!" and I was right, to some extent but it is so much more without spoiling the first few chapters. The setting of a floating city filled with Valkyries cadets is an interesting one to explore, and the author executes this well with excellent pacing and grammar. You can expect the standard shonen character growth model.
Overall, it is on my favourite list, and I hope to see how the next 30 days will pass for Seiji as he assists Cora with her Valkyrie exam! Moreover, there is a lot of potential in the story once Seiji is released from his service to the exam and given a stipend to start anew.
Critique: Very minor critiques to be made, the paragraph spacing can be taken down a notch. When introducing characters (such as Lirio & Selene in Ch.2) the author took a very 'show, don't tell' approach and provided descriptions of their appearances and the way they reacted to stimuli. This isn't bad per se, but it could be taken to the next level by describing more of their apparent personality and tying it to some unique features, e.g. Selene having 'aloof and disdainful eyes that were cold as sapphire'

So, before you read the rest of this review, I need everyone to understand I've never read a romance story in my life (i have seen a few RomComs, however). I've read stories with romance in them, but never as the focus. When I was approached about a review swap for this story and was told it was a litrpg, I was very curious and figured I would be able to review any Litrpg as I have read so, so many.
Despite that, I was a bit out of sorts with this review, so understand you're getting a review from a litrpg guy, not a romance guy. Maybe the set up of the romance is terrible and I didn't notice (seemed fine to me, just pointing it out as an example.) I did find the dynamics between the main characters to have that (for me) weird back and forth, like me / hate me thing I know from Rom Coms, so I'm assuming it's all there, but for an in-depth look at that part, look to another reviewer.
For the litrpg/action part, however, I was pretty pleased with this.
From that standpoint, this story is very standard but done very well, although the litrpg part is light--a bit more than gamelit but not alot. Still, it has very clear and integral to the story progression elements and a chart to go with it and I found it very enjoyable.
Character: The MC has a cool set of skills and was once a badass, but came to a place where everyone has so much magic he is bottom of the pile. But it essentially sets him up as a weak but smart protag that has a system to grow in power, my favorite. He is set up as a down on his luck assasin, and for the most part he feels like it, although his dialogue with the main female lead is frequnetly outside what a flea-bitten assassin would do I feel, but that is probably the romance elements.
Style: As is true of most romance (I've heard), the writing is far superior to most Litrpg/progression fantasy books. Clear, logical connections, good descriptions, good secondary personalities, etc. Very well done.
Grammer: I detected absolutely no errors. I'm not the

I genuinely liked the setup and mechanics, and with how rare the combination of romance + litRPG is, that deserves some extra points as well!
Grammatically there are some issues here and there, but nothing that would majorly detract from the reading flow.
I do have a bit of crtiticism, though :)
There were often parts where I didn't really understand what was happening. Something about the writing had me scratching my head in a few places, especially during combat scenes.
Sometimes I felt like the characters were acting a bit erratically, for example by suddenly changing their behavior out of nowhere. The MMC for example is an ex-assassin, and sometimes he genuinely acts like that; other times, he's kind of meek and has sudden outbursts I don't really understand. I wanted to scream at him a few times!
I don't have specific examples for this, but often times I feel like I'd have needed things to be explained a bit clearer. Especially in combat situations, sometimes I felt like the scenes were missing details, which made it a bit hard to follow what exactly was happening. Eg. Where the other people are while one character is getting beaten up and has an entire dialog with somebody.
Overall definitely worth a read though :) keep on writing!

I wanted a story that had elements of LitRPG and romance as those are pretty to rare to find (compared to just LitRPG or just romance), and this story did that!
The world building was well done and I was able to clearly visualize the setting and the environment that the story took place. I especially enjoyed all the references to Norse mythology (the title does hint to this after all) as I love mythology in general.
I especially thought the Einherjar Division and their role of bring souls across spaces was very interesting, not only was it a nod to Valhalla, but i had never seen the “isekai aspect” handled like so (i.e. no Truck-Kun’s and goddesses)
What also helped with the immersion was the clear, yet captivating writing style. Battles and action scenes were written well, leaving my heart racing and scrolling for the next part. It also fit with the story’s setting—Seiji has thirty days to help Cora become a Valkyrie. All this tied together to make a fast-paced yet thrilling novel.
Although there were a few capitalization errors and grammar mistakes, they affected the story minimally. On the other hand, something that put me off a bit was the characterization of Seiji and Cora, the main characters. Their personalities sometimes did not match their experiences and in certain instances, it almost seemed like they were a different person altogether.
Especially the scene where Seiji an outburst when Cora chose his class without talking to him about it. First of all, as a lot of readers stated, he doesn’t really act like an assassin with how he has virtually no control over his emotions.
Then, in this scene, right after this outburst, he almost instantly apologizes which was a whiplash.
I think this aspect is what caused some people to be unable to continue reading. I have to admit, I was also tempted.
However, I stayed, mostly for the plot (and out of curiosity of the character development and how it would affect the romance). Although, the romance also had a weird, al
