The Systemic Lands (Dark Progressive LITRPG)

Description

Michael must survive a fake world, he and other people from Earth have been teleported to.

Struggling to survive with his weight and fear. Michael must try and figure out the mysteries of this new world he is stuck in.

The other people transported to the empty stone city, the monsters outside, and the mysterious System Store are all threats or opportunities in equal measure.

The Systemic Lands is a Dark Progressive LITRPG. Taking a grittier approach to the survival progression story, when the main character isn't a super athlete ready to go at a moment's notice.

The unique setting moves away from any of the standard tropes of a LITRPG setting and takes on the air of a true mystery. While a slower start as Michael gets his bearings, there is clear progression, stats, and power levels. Avoiding the info dumps of boxes, The Systemic Lands excels at people using knowledge of game mechanics to try and figure out how things work.

Each volume focuses on a theme while moving ahead with the main story, for example the first volume focuses on coming to terms with the world. The second volume focuses on inter-team dynamics. The third volume focuses on the conflict with the Ritualist. The fourth volume focuses on city building. The fifth volume focuses on exploration. In addition, politics, lose-lose situations, and brutal conflict are present in this story at varying intensities depending on the point in the story while not being the central focus. Setbacks happen and should be expected. The Almighty System does not hand hold people like in other LITRPGs.

This story isdark. I have been informed that just calling it dark in the title and using the warnings on RR are not enough. If you are in any way squeamish, easily offended, have a weak constitution, easily upset over violence, offended over opinions you don't agree with, or want a paragon type main character, this story is probably not for you. A lot of unhappy reviews and ratings come from this, so consider yourself warned a third time.

I like the story. The author is extremely productive. 2 updates a day is crazy.
The story has good pacing, interesting progression and is very consistent in its internal logic. The antagonists are also understandable in their motivations.
The protagonist is smart but has to fight for every bit of power. Good ratio between inner monologue, interaction with others and action.
Looking forward to what the newly introduced characters like the Astrologer are up to.
    Keep up the good work!

Noticed in the last chapter that i had not reviewed this novel, a sin that i will now fix.
    long version:
There are already enough review and comments that talk about the story so i will twist this review into a kind of warning, do you see the the word "dark" in the title? a word used to decorate titles and descriptions, to convey the world is full of general evil or that the mc does some mildly bad things, this novel is not like that, even if you have very high standars of what dark means in a story, i think you will find your thirst sated in a way you never experienced befere.
Everything starts off in classic isekai style for a few chapter, mc and many other people are in a new world, he joins a team to grind the weakest yet very deadly monster, they make friendship and no spoilers, just know that everything after the initial chapters can go wrong and will go wrong.
One thing i enjoy to do while reading is to think of how bad a situation can get, how many lives or morals can be broken  in single choice, is total anarchy better than a dictator with an acidic fist, will that side character die unexpectedly or live until the end, that monster is so nasty and dangerous but it can be worse; i can happily say that the answers for these questions have time and time again exceeded my expectations in a way i hardly experienced before, thinking of a worst case scenario and finding out you did not use enough imagination, multiple times, that is an experience everyone should have (possibly in a book and not irl).
Of course the things above are not everything that will go wrong in the novel but i dont want to spoil too much, just know that if you are looking for a novel deseving of the word dark, you have found it.
shorter version: the novel is fully deserving of the warning tags and more, if you are sensible or cant read a story that deviates from expectation, its best if you dont read it, if you do so anyway, you have been warned plenty and the author doesnt deserve the anger

Starts off dark and edgy. 70 chapters in and MC is less of a murder-hobo now. Even has a couple friends (minions?), but who knows how that will end. All praise the Almighty System! Patent pending.
Can't wait to see more content! This review apparently needs more words still. And yet more, am I writing as essay??

I think it's a very unique take on how a system could work. The story takes on a darker tone from time to time but I like how the author attempts to keep it realistic. Realism isnt necessarily an improvement, but In this case, I think it improves the story.
The mystery of what the Systemic Lands are and why they are is another factor I like about this story.

My first exposure to this story, well was a bit confusing. But I'm a stubborn sort and pushed into it further, which I am happy for. This author approaches story telling in a fantastic new way. Little confusing with the title naming and the back and forth within 3 separate timelines in the start. To his credit the viewpoint chapters, adding depth to the side characters, are an amazing touch. Mr Mastervii thank you for this story. I look forward to more.

    GIVE ME more ... pls? ;_;
so basicly I'm hooked I read the first few chapters a few months ago and wasn't really loving it but I saw the fantasy behind it so I placed the book on my read later pile that just keeps on piling up, well I'm SUPER angry with myself for picking it up now and not MUCH later when it's finished because I read through it the minute my time allowed it. I HIGHLY recommend it WHICH I can't stress this enough give it a read
Though I have to be UPFRONT this isn't a story that tries to sale you that shit that people in general are good intentioned so if your not really into that hard truth of what would happen in an apocalypse or natural disaster than I'll say that you should skip this book. Also it isn't a torture/dark gore fest so if your in search of that you'll not find it here. The story really tries to not force feed you plot points and it almost demands of you that you read what you read fully and procces it. The characters are fenonmal they never do stuff that doesn't make sense from their point of prespective. Our MC isn't overpowered he struggles time and time again, and often needs outside solutions for his problems. BEWARE the book as chapters in the antagonist's POV (which for some reason is a bad thing?)  and tries to let us see how his demented mind works so kinda like Thanos in avengers where in the end a lot of people actually understood him.
So story is great, characters and style aswell the only reason I'm not giving it an all around 5 star review is because in the begining I wasn't hooked... well that's not exactly true because I remembered it had a nice premise soo... whatever :D it's awesome, read it! (I'd recommend waiting for it to be complete or have adleast 500 chapters adhead of you... :D because otherwise you'll regret catching up like I did :( )

Style: This story is written in 1st person from the MC's point of view and sometimes from other characters. The prose was engaging and not overly simplistic. Those two things make this story bingeable. 5/5
Story: The main character Michael and hundreds of other humans are teleported into an unknown city surrounded by a fake-feeling world and must try everything to survive. Killing monsters outside of the city grants crystals that can be redeemed for points that people use for gathering supplies and upgrading themselves RPG style. It is more than serviceable and was fun to be immersed in. 4.5/5
Grammar: I couldn't find any errors that stuck out enough to not give it a 5/5.
Character: Some may not like Michael for his way of thinking, almost sociopathic attitude, or his almost super-human drive to survive. I personally found the MC to be engaging and interesting when exploring the world and people through his eyes.
The one downside I found was how the author would refer to his weight. It seemed a bit heavy-handed and used the same terminology too often (just the word "fat"). As someone who has been overweight my entire teenage and adult life, I found it hard to relate to Michael in that way—it didn't resonate with me in the way I thought it would is all. 4.5/5
Overall: 4.5/5 A good story, with an interesting world, fleshed-out characters, well-written sentences, and unorthodox MC (in a good way)!

Massively enjoyed the story all around, if you have issue with a sociopathic character who follows cold logic more than emotions or morality maybe not for you, honestly the mc went too hard too quickly in the beginning into the murderhobo lifestyle but it worked out.
Only complaints are the single case of sentimentality leading to a former ally who betrayed the mc staying alive instead of being killed decisively but it was an important plot ploint and flowed pretty well and the massive amount of luck the antagonist is getting away with repeatedly getting away time after time.

Everyday I read this story with a small lump in my stomach. I'm excited to find out what happens next and also scared to find out what misfortune will befall our Champion Michael.
Grimdark at its finest. The mainstay imo is the blood and gore those types of stories contain, but System Lands just adds another level of uneasiness in not knowing what happens next.
Champion Michael makes choises and those choises aren't based on love and power of friendship where they all end up happily ever after.
TLDR: it's Dark, Gritty, and a blast to read (not for those faint of hearth).
