- TragiaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Overall, the story of 'The Survivor' just flows well. ScribblingFox has a unique style that flows from one section to another very well. Even when stepping away from the MC to other points of view, whether for the sake of lore, or a lead up to understand what's about to happen with the MC. It just works.
The Story itself is amazing. Both the current storyline and the subplot of 'The Survivor's' background are intriguing and attention demanding. The background story is indepth enough it will make you go looking to see if it's already written, and wish that it were when you find out it's not. At times it can become a little graphic, and push some boundaries. But ScribblingFox never pushes beyond the line that says "Too Far".
As far as grammar goes, it's more than passable with the few occasional fumbles you would expect from a story that hasn't run through professional editing yet.
As far as character building goes, ScribblingFox does an awesome job with brining his characters to life. None of them are perfect, they're human, even if their not. He does an amazing job showing each of his characters having their own goals, loves, likes, and dislikes. The interpersonal communication between the community members is shown well.
All-in-all, 'The Survivor Beomes A Dungeon' is a fairly well rounded story that, while not for children, isn't too far into "Adult Material" to make anyone uncomfortable. - BarFlySwatterRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This tale has a strong cast of diverse and interesting characters. The MC being a long-term survivor of the Zombie Apocalypse in his previous life is cool, and the author ties back to it a little at a time so you don't feel like you're reading a zombie story and then a dungeon story.
The supporting cast is pretty interesting. It's not just a handful of slavish underlings. There're several lieutenants with very strong connections to the MC, but there are also sets of characters that aren't as strongly bonded, some that are more like associates and friendly neighbors, and then a group of enemies. Having that diversity of connections sets a good stage for both plot and character development.
Overall, I really like the story and the characters, and am in full-on binge mode. - Thatdamncat_NZRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Slightly obsessed with this one.
I'm up to chapter 107 and eagerly awaiting further chapters.
I love the characters and the story line is amazing. Getting heavily invested into this one. I can't wait to read more of this one. I love following Vitmori on what he achieves, the people that he meets and the new backdrop that the Author writes beautifully. - DefectivebyDesignRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Not the typical dungeon novel, where it sits forever alone counting stats with an abucus. The system is background ambiance instead, and focuses on the plot and characters. There's a neutral stance between 3 countries, while a hidden power lurks in the background waiting to strike. That said, neutrality isn't so neutral with a slave trade between a theocracy and the merchant alliance irritating the kingdom who wants to unify the continent. Enter the dungeon, right in the middle of the trade route. How will things play out? Enjoy reading the story without being interrupted with blue box word count filler, just like Tolkien intended. Bonus points for chapters not being 99% description filler and ending with one sentence of actual plot progress with a cliffhanger, with a suggestion to subscribe to Patreon to see the next chapter. The grift is way too obvious on other novels, and you don't gain anything by subscribing when the bonus content is no different. Just write normally please, and people will naturally subscribe and give better reviews for having better content.
- DijonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Love it so much, the concept just really speaks to me. The characters are very fun, and the way the story plays with the conventions of Dungeon Core fiction is really interesting. Also the power fantasy is exquisitely executed, MC is strong and yet continues to grow in multiple ways instead of the all too common OP to the same but more OP. There is a refreshing breadth in the growth
- Elzipper7Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Came for the dungeon, stayed for the characters. In fact, the actual dungeon building gets kind of forgotten about pretty quick, mostly because the people around the dungeon are so interesting.
Not to say that the dungeon isn't; having someone experienced in charge rather than the usual well-meaning shmuck makes for a welcome change. But he's just one of a myriad of interesting and likeable characters that live in a believably complex world.
And having our competent protagonist, holding strong to the ideals he built while ensuring those around him survived the end of the world, bringing that same energy to help the people he's invested in, despite this world's whole new dynamic he's been thrown into, is... It hits different. And I love it. - BlueazerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am currently on Chapter 71 I read about 5 chapters a sitting. If I don't limit myself I would probably read the whole thing and be anxiously waiting the next chapter. That being said the story is well written, it has quite a few characters to speculate about. The writter gives the right amount of details that keeps you guessing yet not demanding more until they are ready to offer. Thank you Scribbling Fox for taking the time to write this. Everyone Enjoy and have a wonderful day.
- AvanealaScarletRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I Love It. For an Isekai it doesn't follow the regular script and I enjoy that! I love that the survivor just trips over so much and wins the landing! Can't wait to see what comes next! Romance, found family, danger, magic, and so much more! First found it on Reddit and I'm so much happier to find it here
- J'Sun CoxRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Love it hope you get over the writers block soon ot a great story and I love all the characters I benged it so fast I'm having withdrawn symptoms it so great thank you very much for this wonderful story pls keep it going and don't burn your self out I looking forward to all the new adventures
- [Redacted] [Redacted]Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0It is their fourth time reading this and every time [Redacted] reads it [Redacted] always feels even more excited than the last time. [Redacted] is however worried that the seemingly exponential increase in excitement they are experiencing will lead to spontaneous combustion and as such [Redacted] will continue leaving notes to detail their experience.
