The Survival Guide of Hell-Difficulty Characters
Community Rating
Description
“Dungeon Regime”: a classic but popular MMORPG dungeon-crawler game with infinite characters to choose from. As a result of an unknown error, two players suddenly got transported inside the game…as the hardest difficulty characters the game has to offer.
Silas Salvador is a delinquent son of a noble who has nothing but money to show for.
And Ruelle Peregrine is his fiancee who got forced into a political marriage by her equally as trash of a family.
The two of them now has to live their new lives while doing everything in order to avoid their respective characters’ “death routes”.
But, with almost no information on how their routes would play out, the dangers of a world ruled over by the dungeons threaten their mandatory “deathless” run!

- gajensenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Story
The story starts off really strong and gets to the action fairly quickly. I really enjoyed the world building and seeing Rez and Crowfest reacting to being immersed to a game they know by heart. It was really interesting watching them choose to do different paths for their characters. The world also feels alive and lived in, so I'm excited to meet the other characters of the game.
I also found the dungeon scenes to be my favorites. You do a pretty good job of showcasing action (I'm thinking of those spiders), and I was gripped the whole way through.
Character
Rez and Crowfest, their relationship in particular, is what makes this story shine. I found their dialogue and chemistry to be believable and fun. I loved watching their banter and how they tackled traps and spiders together. I hope they get together at the end!
Style
I like seeing both of the characters' perspectives. With that said, it could be a bit clearer on who is the main perspective for the chapters, as I felt it switched a couple of times in the narrative. Overall style is great and has a a quick pacing.
Grammar
Grammar is good for the most part. Just the occasional mistake here and there, but solid nonetheless.
Overall, great story so far! Keep up the good work :) - Class: JonathonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm reviewing this early, beacuse I'm starting to see some positives... I'm at Chapter 10 and the system is starting to look very promising!
The premise is interesting, the characters motivated and developing well together... will be interested to see it keep developing.
I'd encourage the author to be careful of grammar, as it can be a little distracting, but not so much as to get in the way of a good story! The spider fight scenes show a promising grasp of action writing! - Prince LinlinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I swear, if I were a thief I would steal this idea and write my own book with it. I’m joking, I am not scummy enough to do that. But yes, this is a very, very good idea. I love how the two main characters interact and more than that, I love their situation. The non-spoiler rule does make it harder to say things, but repetition can lead to emphasis! I love the story!
The style is decent enough. I will admit noticing things like that is not my strong point, but it did not interfere with my reading at any time. Perhaps others can share more concrete views on this.
The story is my favourite part of it! I love trash origin characters and there are two of them in this story! I am salivating at the thought of the juicy, juicy drama that I hope this will generate.
If there was one thing I would say is the story’s weakpoint it’s grammar. Oh, it’s not really bad, but it’s the worst of the four.
Now for the characters. The story is young, but I already have a feel of the characters. The ‘other’ backstories the characters have is interesting. The other backstories existing is a surprise to begin with given how few stories pay attention to pre-transmigration stuff.
I look forward to reading more! - ShirimeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This review is probably going to be extremely biased because I have a soft spot for LitRPG Romance (see: The Valkyrie Cadet and Her Servant). I'll try to keep it to a minimum, though. Either way, this story is a rare example of a LitRPG Romance done well which you rarely see in the space, and I genuinely hope more people read it. Would it be more popular if it were a fantasy romance that went straight to amazon and added some "spice" for booktok? Probably. But it's here, and we should celebrate that! Here's why you should read it.
Style: Funnily enough, I think the Prologue has the coolest presentation out of any of the chapters. That isn't to say the others are bad, I just think the Prologue looks that cool. Beyond that, though, the story's setting and worldbuilding make sense for what it is and the action is well-written enough to be enjoyable by people who might not be the biggest romance fans.
Story: The two leads get Isekai'd into an MMO in place of in-universe characters and are working together to navigate this unfamiliar environment. Given the "Romance" tag, I'm sure you can guess how well that'll progress. I appreciate that the story draws them together in natural ways -- as natural as a fantasy story can be -- and lets them build their chemistry organically instead of forcing them into narratively unnatural situations and forcing them to bond like a child mashing dolls together so they can kiss. It's refreshing.
Grammar: Nothing egregious. There apparently were some typos, but the author seems quick to catch them.
Character: This is where the story shines. In particular, I like that the female love interest isn't just fawning over the lead. That particular trope is so common in the space that I will always celebrate people for not using it. They both feel like real people with their own lives and personalities that dictate their actions and reactions. It's still early in the story, but it's easy to see where the romantic chemistry will come from based only - UgarrsvenothRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Style: this story is well written and has a healthy amount of dialogue to help break up the writing. I like the clear distinction the author makes when swapping perspective, it helps make it less confusing. It all flowed very easily, and I didn't find any sentences that took me out of the story being told.
Story: the story itself is pretty interesting. It's a fairly standard isekai set up, but with the nice twist of having two people get isekaid. The game world itself is nice. It's a standard dungeon crawler system that is explained quite clearly to us. Where it stands out is that they don't get to create their own character. Instead they can cycle through an endless list of characters that have their own unique lore, stats, and story to complete. I find it quite interesting because it makes the world feel real, instead of just dropping the player into the identity of "the hero".
Grammar: I'm going to keep things nice and simple here. I didn't notice any mistakes as far as punctuation and spelling are concerned.
Character: the characters are clear and well thought out. The two protagonists are both interesting and unique enough for it to be reasonable for the story to have two. I also love how they are very much the opposite personality wise of the characters they took over. I'm curious to see how the side characters will react to the changes. - V.K ShahRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I found this to be a very interesting read which I thoroughly enjoyed!
I will start with what I liked about the Novel
Style
The author has an amazing way of delivering exposition that seems like it just pulls the story forward. The dialogue is descriptive and well written, and the overall world feels immersive and breathing. Really enjoyed reading these opening chapters partly just because of the good quality of writing
Characters
The Characters are also a highlight. I feel like I've got a good grasp on the personalities of each character without the author needing to go into a lot of detail or even give them a lot of screen time, i can vividly imagine the gruff knight, or the drunk young master. Everybody feels unique and that's a big plus.
Grammar
Grammar is good and there were no grammatical errors in the novel that I could see. I noticed a few issues with the formatting, where spaces between paragraphs was huge in some chapters so it's worth going back and fixing those as when scrolling it can make reading more tedious
Story
I'm not going to go into too much spoilers here but I personally really love RPG and MMO game plots like SAO and the like. This novel takes a lot of the good aspects of this genre and breathes life into them, it's immsersive and you really can lose yourself
One fallback of this however, that this novel also suffers from is that some of the early pacing can feel a tad rushed. When the main characters found themselves in different bodies, it didn't take much time for them to accept their new realities and move on with the story. And comparatively, the action and fight scenes can feel a tad slow in comparison. It's good to have quick pacing, but also make sure to give the reader's time to breathe and enjoy the immersive world that you have created :)
I get it, it's the tutorial. We just want to get through it! But that's your reader's chance to sink their teeth into the world and get a feel for things.
This novel is still in it's infancy so i d - CosmicSlimeRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This is a new take on the entire rpg genre. They're usually written in first person, but seeing it written in third person like this is somewhat refreshing.
STORY
It starts off a little hevy on the game's background and character history but the concept of the game itself is interesting. Having your character randomized by the game itself adds some authenticity to the entire rpg aspect, especially when the two main characters are taken into consideration. The story hasn't progressed that far yet, but it has a lot of potential, especially given the dungeon an monsters aspect.
STYLE
The third person story telling works well, but the sentences are too spaced out. Its kind of hard to read since the sentence breaks can easily throw you off. If the paragraphs were a little longer then the style would feel a little more 'complete'.
GRAMMAR
Grammar is solid, no problems here.
CHARACTERS
Rez and crow are pretty good characters, they bounce off each other nicely so it makes the dialogue flow smoothly, aside from that there are some deeper layers to their characters when considering their real world persona. Their personalities tend to shift when their playing as Ruelle and Silas but thats just another aspect of the characters and it helps to somewhat advance the plot given their circumstances. - CharbendRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5We've got a 2-for-1 deal for reincarnating into a romance game here! I've always thought the genre of "reincarnated into visual-novel type romance game with surprisingly involved RPG/Combat mechanics" to be a really funnily specific thing to get popular, but I'm here for it.
Style
The style is solid, and it was easy to read. I think there is a good mix of dialogue and narration.
Story
We start the story with a brief introduction to the premise (two folks reincarnated into a romance/RPG they'd played together), and then we get into some action with a dungeon crawl. There is some good work done during this action to help flesh out our main characters, so the transition to the sudden dungeon crawl doesn't feel like much of a detour. I am interested in seeing more of how our protagonists adapt to their new reality, but that'll come in time.
Grammar
I didn't see any glaring issues with grammar!
Character
I'm enjoying the characters so far! I think the author is doing a good job of organically revealing information and fleshing the characters out. With where I've gotten to so far, there's only really been the two main characters, but they're giving me confidence for the others to come! - EldricWoodRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Story
The introduction leans heavily into the game's lore and the protagonists' backstories, yet the unique premise of character randomization by the game itself intriguingly enhances the RPG experience. While the narrative is still in its early stages, its promise is undeniable, particularly with the inclusion of dungeons and monsters, hinting at substantial potential for development.
Style
The author propels the narrative forward, enticing readers into a world that feels alive. With dialogue that is easy to read and engaging, each scene unfolds with immersive detail. The opening chapters captivate not just with their plot but also keep the reader on the hook by the perspectives given by the two main characters.
Grammar
I didn't spot any errors in terms of punctuation or spelling. as there was no grammatical errors, it helped to bring the story forward and each sentence flowed from one into the next.
Character
The dual protagonists possess a compelling and distinctiveness that justifies their tandem presence in the narrative. What's particularly intriguing is their stark contrast in personality from the individuals they've replaced.
Rez and Crow make a dynamic duo, their interactions flowing seamlessly and adding depth to the dialogue. Their personas as Ruelle and Silas add intriguing layers to their characters, shifting their personalities and driving the plot forward within their unique circumstances. It's a fascinating dynamic that leaves me eager to witness the reactions of the supporting cast to these shifts in personality. I'm curious to see how the side characters will react to the changes.
