- cDaviRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm a picky reader when it comes to the issue of realistic logic & logical consistency within a story. As such, I've dropped an overwhelming majority of stories on royalroad. The Snake Report has been excellent on this issue.
Persistent, great fun and character progression (though some other-than-favorable reviews here seem to bemoan the fact that the - logical - progression of the main character leads to a story that is not stagnant / the same as the beginning)
Story:
A friendly neighbourhood Tiny Snake struggles to survive birth in an environment where Tiny Snakes are snacks. Follow his gripping hilarious saga as he battles monsters by hiding, panicking, and being a poisonous meal to eat. He learns vicariously from the noble suicidal self-sacrifices of frog prophets, grows to become a divine beast and takes on the mantle of his protector (who had sent the noble frog prophets to teach him) - the Large Frog God. With this mantle he becomes the Tiny Snake God. Humanity's actions will determine if the Tiny Snake God becomes its greatest defender against an impending apocalypse or if the Tiny Snake will seal humanity's doom - as the World, voiced by Gaia, insistently demands.
I generally do not pay attention to editing / proofing issues with webnovels due to their lacking editors or easy revision options, yet I noticed no issues when reading The Snake Report.
A plausible negative -- though not regarding the story itself -- is an inconsistent and/or hiatus schedule of newer chapters. - DragonightmareRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Its an over all fun story with very few probloms most of which are tiny. it also leaves a lot of quastions i cant wait to be ansered what is the actual reason he doesent grow and why even though he is pretty high level but has what seems to be ridiculesly low stats besides magic. i also wounder what the levels of the adventurers are a and how it actualy relate to strength.
- ToastdragonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Good god! I went through this like a fat kid goes through Halloween candy. And much like the proverbial obese child, i was greatly disappointed to find out there wasn't more. But I've been following Gilded Hero (A+ on that mate) and the latest chapter mentioned a cover for book 3. Does that mean we'll be getting a book 3 here, or on Amazon?
- bukvyrmRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story has almost all of my favorite elements - a self-deprecating fish-out-of-water MC, lots of humour, interesting side characters, and, at least so far, no harem! It's being written on reddit and only posted here after a bit of refinement so it's better than the average manuscript, although still containing plenty of typos, spelling mistakes etc. But none that should drop you out of the story.
All hail the Tiny Snake God in is mercy, generosity, and apologies-when-things-go-horribly-awry! [he meant well, he really did] - --Demonic--Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Definitely one of the gems on this site, book two was a quick read (the only downside of this book is that you finish them too quickly).
- DrMonotoneRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Decent read if you're willing to give it a try! Some parts I can definitely see as being turnoffs for some people, but overall it had decent progression. Other than that all I can say is HAIL THE TINY SNAKE GOD!!!!
- SmannesmanRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The world and the characters are interesting and the writing is IMO good. There are some small errors here and there, but that's to be expected.
It's a fun, not particularly serious adventure with a non-human MC.
I feel like the second book goes a little bit off the rails, but it seems like this might be to further the overarching world storyline and I think that's perfectly acceptable.
If you're looking for a fun light litRPG story with a non-human MC, I would definitely recommend this. I never once felt like stopping reading this story. - VijiRoyal Road★★★ 3.0This is my first review ever, apologies if it is bad
I quite liked how this started (kinda biased to reborn as a monster novels), but the last chapter of book one just kills this for me.
the style is fine
grammar is pretty good from what I noticed but I don't pay too much attention
Characters
This is where it kinda gets bad? I like our main character but the others are iffy, the first humans met, Imra and the wizard react very differently then you'd expect them to I think, its said that they are pretty good adventurers and that means they have their fair share of dungeon dives, As Imra said in her dialogue as some point to herself I believe, it should be ingrained into them that all monsters are dangerous no matter what that monster does, so the decision to capture the mc makes no sense to me, considering Imra saw how dangerous it could be with mc helping with dragon's breath at the end of the skeleton fight.
The story is way too weird for me but not terrible
main problem l
\/
all in all, my main problem is what the heck happened after mc got trapped by that bubble????? like he gets trapped, trys breaking out, almost succeds but then its gets stronger, so hes trapped but then the sword master comes out of no where and starts slaughtering them to save the three humans but then what? how does the mc go from being trapped in a bubble on an elevated shrine with Imra to going through the biggest mental dialogue seen yet and like getting more and more insane and then poof, hes in a random hole like WHAT?? It literally makes no sense to me - YnochTGRoyal Road★★★ 2.5The story was really entertaining, the comedy and lore adds more depth to the story. Though a bit generic, it was still very refreshing especially during quarantine when I don’t have anything better to do.
There were also a lot of errors concerning grammar but its not really a big deal. The only problem is when the sentences are poorly written to the point where the message just jumps all over the place and you need to piece what the author is trying to say bit by bit. Other than that, the descriptions and such were awesome.
It ‘had’ the chance to be great, but thats when book 2 came out. I had high hopes for it but I got really disappointed. I genuinelly liked the mc’s personallity and how he interacts with things but all of those were either forgotten or removed because of plot progression. He’s either too naive or unmotivated to do something even if there’s a clear solution. It’s okay if its once or twice, but being repeated for countless of times (entirely in book 2) is considered bad in my book.
Genuinely liked the story and I would have given it a big 5 star and a pat on the back but book 2 just didn’t make that possible.
I recommend nonetheless. - KiokuRoyal Road★★ 2.0Almost every single sentence is a new paragraph.
For the entire first five chapters.
I could understand if they did it for just the first one as a style thing, but it continues past the intro and into the story proper.
I'm not even considering the awful font they used because that's something you can fix with site settings.
Just like this review, the story is a massive pain to even try to read, because it doesn't use actual paragraphs.
Just sentences.
One.
Line.
At a time.
