The Salamander

Rose is your average teenager living in New Singapura, save for one factor: the alter ego. Thanks to her alien salamander symbiote bonded with her in both body and mind, she dons can transform into the Salamander, New Singapura's first and only superhero. But being a superhero isn't all mad villains and tyrants: it's managing a daily existence.As she struggles with her daily life and heroism, a world paranoid and resentful over her will force her into challenges she isn't ready for. Maintaining friendships and love when you live a double life, having loved ones unknowingly hate you and dealing with internal turmoil that comes with sacrifice - this is not just the reality of the Salamander, it is the reality of Rose's.

When the dust settles, the question won't be if she wins a fight, but if she does the right thing. Being super is easy, being a hero much harder.

Written as a love letter to all superheroes who inspired hope into me, in particular a certain boy scout and webhead.
