Set in a Pokéverse where the remnants of our civilization's Earth lie buried under the resurgent human/Pokémon societies, this epic Saga follows the protagonist through his journey to the heights of Pokemon Training and beyond, across a planet that was only saved from ecological disaster by an act of Arceus. As Humanity and Pokémon coexist in this fusion of settings, the story will explore themes of war, oppressive cults, and Shadow infusion, in a world where Pokémon healing and battles echo the anime in realistic, but not overtly graphic ways. Pokémon do not rip each other apart in Battles, though it can sometimes happen in the wild.

This is a very long journey fic that's kind of a Crossover with everything. But with Pokémon. So you might see characters like Shaggy Rogers, or Izuku Midoriya, but with Pokémon teams. Pokémon legends like Red, Gary Oak, and the reigning World Champion, Ash Ketchum, are also, naturally, present in the setting. Think of this slice of the Pokéverse as one where it's all coming together.

What to expect:

A long-form journey fic with a heavily blended Pokéverse, a steadily expanding cast, and a world that mixes classic Pokémon adventure with bigger themes like war, cult influence, ancient history, and cosmic politics.

Expect crossover-style reinterpretations of familiar faces, older protagonists, deep-cut lore, and a setting where Pokémon battles still feel like Pokémon battles even when the stakes get serious.

This is not grimdark-for-shock-value, but itisa world with consequences, long arcs, and a lot of moving parts. My entire premise was 'what if we got a story that continued, not ended, at Champion-tier shenanigans'

Writing style is great, so far story feels like it has massive depth to it, so anyone wanting a good Pokemon fanatic, read this.
To the author, your blurb actually made me skip this, not sure why but it really didn't feel appealing for me and if my friend hadn't recommended it to me I probably wouldn't of read it, can't really tell you how to change it but thought you should know as there might be others that have done the same.

Let me start by saying I'm not a Pokémon expert, but I was excited to dive into this world and to check out the fabulous artwork that went along with it.
Story:
Chapter 1 of "The Redwood Saga" titled "The Final Semester" is an exciting start to what promises to be a fun fan-fiction tale. The story begins to draw the reader into the world of Alex Redwood, a Pokémon Trainer finishing up his last semester at Unova University. The author (Sahqoreyth) captures what it is like to be a young trainer. Alex, the MC, is no stranger to struggle. Despite being denied access to Pokémon due to a supposed disorder, his passion for training Pokémon shines through. I loved the scene where Alex’s Turtwig evolves into a Grotle during a battle. The description of the transformation shows the strong bond between them.
Characters:
Alex’s past revealed some of the deep-seated injustices he faced. Doctor Ein's diagnosis is an example of this... Alex’s spirit remains unbroken. His confrontation with Doctor Ein shows you a lot about Alex's personality. The other characters are interesting too. His granduncle is a standout character. He is the moral support Alex needs. The Professor’s quirky personality adds so much to the story. The scene where the Professor hands Alex a custom Pokédex is awesome!
Grammar:
I didn't notice any major errors, so from a Royal Road standpoint this is worth it's weight in gold!
Style:
The story explores the pressures in the Pokémon world. Alex’s struggle against that society is preeminent. When Alex earns his Trainer Card I realized how into the story I was. This story is well done and it combines action, emotion, and some kick-ass world-building. It is a must-read for fans of the Pokémon. Alex Redwood's journey is exactly why we all reach these types of stories.
