Description
Estella’s only goal in life is to finish her studies and become a knight general to serve her kingdom. But that all changed when she met Nox, whose rare shadow magic is attuned to her powers over light.
Driven by their connection, Estella finds herself being drawn to the enigmatic squire in a fiery obsession that might just help her achieve her dream. Unfortunately, life is never easy in the Favenian Academy of War and Magic, where students fight each other to prove their worth using Animarta, weapons forged from their very souls.
And where defeat means expulsion.
Two fates intertwined—one chasing the light of her future, the other living in the shadows of his past. Will their combined powers be enough to overcome the challenges of the Academy?

- CT JohnsonRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Overall Score
Immediately enthralling. It starts out with action and builds a fantasy atound contrasting elements and the fate that binds them. This isn't an epic fantasy as it follows an almost mundane series of events esrly on. But that only further sets it in a unique category that keeps the readers engaged.
Style score
The settinf alone is a wonderful choice for this fantasy as it sets an expectation on the personal developments of those involved and it allows for a more thorough progression of the story. The author uses the style to build the story and if works.
Story Score
The story itself has a lot of vibes to other fantasy I have read or seen. Which honestly had me thinking this was a fanfiction for a moment. Not that it should be counted against it. In fact it should be counted in it's favor. Because it takes similar themes and creates a brand new world with the authors on unique perspective. That takes a certain will power to stick to your course.
Grammar Score
I couldn't see obvious mistakes, so I think the grammar is to be commended.
Character Score
The characters are defined in their contrast and tbat creates an interesting relationship between them. It draws you in making tou curious how everythinf will eventually play out.
This is a great story and one I highly recommend. - Jordan Elias R.Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5Style:
The style of the book is simple and light, the prose dedicated to writing makes it very easy to read; there's no much use of flowery grammer that you'd probably need a dictionary for, hence the smooth reading. However the prose dedicated to writing duel or battle scenes is very vivid and imaginative, honestly its what i love the most about the book.
At this point of the story there hasn't been any life thretening battles so you can read without hyperventilating and stuff; like i said earlier, it's a very cozy read.
Grammer:
The grammer is good, punctuations are correctly used, but i did find a few errors that were quite jarring to the flow of the story. Fortunately, they were very few, and i've enjoyed the story so far.
Story:
The story follows the life of Dame Estella in her pursuit to become the high general of her father's kingdom. she starts to develop feelings for a boy who weilds a magial element that is the opposite of hers. She's also a princess, so yeah, this story is a cozy fantasy/romance in my opinion, and it's interesting enough that I ended up binging about twenty chapters in a relatively short amount of time.
Character:
I think the characters are the aspect of the book i liked best. The dialogues are great, and side characters are well rounded out. The story also really focuses on charcter building rather than world building, so we get to see the Mc in different lights.
Ultimately, this is an interesting read and it has definitely earned it stars; grab a drink or snack and dive right in. - TheEarlofBronzeRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This is, so far, a very straight forward but well written novel. It plays into many tropes but rather than leaning into these tropes because of a weakness in style or creativity, I am under the impression the Author has decided to use these tropes very intentionally, and I think that he's doing a remarkably good job keeping things interesting.
This novel will certainly not be everyones cup of tea, but for anyone who enjoys romance novels, fantasy, and/or academy life stuff then this will likely be a very enjoyable read for you.
