The Portalverse Challenges

Once upon a time in a land far far away. Nah, I’m only joking. This story starts in a teenagers bedroom. Ominous, eh?

This story follows a young individual who’s selected as a challenger and thrust into a world of never ending series of arenas. These arena challenges award a points which he soon learns give him the opportunity to endlessly better himself and the world he comes from. It will follow him as he transitions from being a somewhat carefree individual to one who rises to the challenge and learns that sometimes things are in fact serious.

The idea for this story is drawn from a few places but one of the moss interesting sources is a dream I had. The story has very little to do with the dream if I’m honest but I was the inspiration. In the dream I was fighting some unusually high fidelity ogres in a dream variation of the Quake level The Necropolis, the bit were your on a ledge over a ramp from some water and when you press the button zombies come out from the walls. Anyway... My main reason for writing this is that I’ve been trying to write a different story, one significantly more serious and better’er than this, only its proving difficult. So, I just wanted to not worry about the quality too much and get some words down, hence this story which I’m writing on the fly.
