The Population Improvement Program
Community Rating
Description
After Adam Walker’s father throws him on the grim streets of Yttrium, Walker must find a way of sustaining himself. Thus, he turns to the Population Improvement Program to complete “bounties” for the U.R government. However, after a bounty goes wrong, Walker must grapple with the biological aftermath, all the while trying to reverse the changes.
Chet, a college mechanical engineer-whose idiocy rivals his genius-constructs devices powered by Stardust: a mineral mined from meteorites that amplify the different fundamental energies of the universe.
And Sonya Vinogradova, an experienced bounty hunter indoctrinated by a religious church older than the city of Yttrium itself, has found a way out…except, whether she has the heart to follow through is a different story altogether.
Follow the three of them as they battle mutated creatures, other bounty hunters, shadowy figures, love, and even themselves.

- 21alliRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love how this story is fast-paced and vivid. The descriptions are so unique and so far, the story reminds me of an action movie in the best way possible. The characters are so distinct from one another and it brings the whole story to life. My favorite is probably Chet so far.
- nina-bina778Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0To start off, this is a refreshing story. From the first chapter it differentiates itself as something NEW. The imagery is nice, the setting evolves and even from the first chapter the author isnt afraid to show you realism in its sci-finess. The story has new elements while still having familiar stuff which makes it a solid fun read but still treads new ground and makes you think.
As the story progresses I fell in love with the characters and their lives. So far each character has a distinct voice and motivation in the story that feels not like you're reading fiction but real life.
The story isn't necessaryily exactly what you find like everything else on this site but through the different science and low fantasy stuff I think it meshes well. I liked it at least. The style of the author is atleast more profesional than a lot of the new stories coming out of this site so thats solid. The grammer is good, a few mistakes here and there but it doesn't detract from the reading experience.
Overall, great stuff. I garuantee you will not regretting picking this piece up as it gets better with each chapter.
Can't wait to get more of this.
