Description
The story you remember, but different. This is a story of a young boy named HARRY POTTER who discovers on his eleventh birthday that he has abilities beyond his own imagination. What seems familiar will soon become foreign as this story is not helmed by the original author, Joanne "J.K." Rowling.
This story is a reclamation by a fan of the series, for the fans of this story as it begins anew and ends...well, you're going to have to read to find that part out.

- koolaides65Royal Road★★ 2.0At first I wondered why this story had such a low rating. But I am unfortunately forced to agree with previous reviews. If I wanted to read JK Rowling's Harry Potter I would do so. Any changes that you have made do not yet qualify it as a fan fiction. The notion that this is a 'I could do better' project rings true.
The grammar so far is fine, The characters seem more fleshed out than other Harry Potter fanfictions, but the pacing is slow the story is not yet unique and I'm not willing to spend another 6 hours trying to find the 'What if?' that you have supposedly injected into the story.
I've read Harry Potter fanfictions that have utterly ridiculous what-if scenarios. I've read one where merely a character makes a different decision later in the story. But every single time they presume that the reader actually knows what Harry Potter is. They presume that you know the story points and that you're a fan that is why it is a fan fiction Yes you are making a change from the original story but you're doing it because at some point during the story thought niggled in the back of your head of what if this happened instead. Or even more ridiculously they interject themselves as a character in the story therefore changing downstream events.
The author is not done this here. While eventually a decision will be made, a change will happen to make this story deviate as is necessary for a fan fiction; failing to present the reader with this change within a reasonable time frame is a failure of a fanfiction author. And yet if you're not writing a fan fiction it's a ridiculous novelization of another author's work as if it's your own.
I guess in your love of JK Rowling's work you have failed to present something that I could consider a fan fiction. And you've also insulted us the readers in that we don't know the story of Harry Potter, because otherwise why would you repeat every single damn thing. - CreestawlRoyal Road★ 0.5Some work was put into this. Some thought was also put into this. Good job on that.
Okay, but here's the thing. I'm here looking for Harry Potter fanfictions because I like Harry Potter. You might have claimed this is a "love letter," but it comes off as a "I could do better." If you want to edit an author's work, go get a job as an editor.
