Description

Rachel thought her biggest challenge was balancing her Muay Thai training with her troubled college life—until the day she grew long ears and a fluffy tail. Everything changes when the sky shatters like stained glass, transforming 1/150th of the world's population into supernatural beings. Welcome to a world where people morph into beasts, fae, and creatures of ancient myth, while others gain powers tied to legendary figures like King Arthur, Saint Charlemagne, or even the dreaded leviathan. And if that wasn’t enough, now aliens have begun emerging from mysterious Crystal Gateways to wage war on humanity, or so it seems. Now, with the world spiraling into chaos, Rachel must set aside her petty problems and unravel the mysteries behind the cosmic upheaval. Her secret weapons? Supernatural hearing, quick reflexes, and a dangerous knack for gathering intel on her ever-changing environment. As martial law takes hold, she’ll need every advantage to navigate a reality where gods and divine forces pull the strings. But Rachel isn’t just any transformed human—she’s been blessed, or cursed, by the enigmatic goddess Cerridwen, becoming a Mythickin Lunar Hare. In this dark urban fantasy, her greatest asset isn’t luck, but misfortune. As the unlucky hare feared by gods themselves, Rachel’s bad fortune could be the key to her survival—or her enemies’ downfall. Join Rachel in her action-packed journey through a post-apocalyptic landscape filled with supernatural battles, divine conspiracies, and cosmic horrors. Read up to book 4 in previous stubbed version. It’s one of the best stories I’ve read on RR. Great characters, great plot, great power system, and great world building. It strikes a good balance between dealing with the politics of the setting, epic fight scenes, and eldritch shenanigans.I would recommend giving it a try, even if it’s not what you usually read.

The rewrite changed a lot. It removed not just the slow pacing but everything good coherent that make the story flow and the logic behind it. We don't get Rachel thinking and planning like in the original and she transforms from intelligent, calm and ruthless manipulator that still got human side to her friends to a teenage aggressive and risk driven girl who acts impulsively and is run around by the plot instead of finding her own path. The average iq of everyone has lowered significantly from the original too. The government doesn't act realistically and intelligently - the people react like individuals not bound by institutions and logic - unlike in the original. Sure the pace is faster but it removed the realism, the problems explored in the original and made the mc change so much that she became an impulsive teenager swayed by the plot instead of her own plans. I'm sure it has to be due to reviews about the pace, but by executing the story in this way - the story became bland, generic teenage drama with superpowers instead of the unpolished gem that was the original. Overall the rewrite made it worse and story lost what made it unique.
