Description

Rane had been cursed by fate, whisked away to the far end of the world to be tortured and broken.

His body is frail and his mind is in shambles, memories sealed away by a curse he seeks to cleanse. He wanders foreign lands to reclaim what he has lost, armed with courage and a strong moral compass.

But instead of answers, he finds chaos. A war that has lasted millennia ravages the land, shrouding the schemes of those that vie for power. Unending windstorms raze forests and castles alike to the ground and a new enemy rises from their dust, seeking to annul the Primordial Oath.

Can Rane survive amid this world's madness? Will he ever break free from the Oath that binds his destiny?

Only time will tell.

This story is dark. Really dark. If you are not here to read a story about the worst of human behavior in a fantasy world with magic, then turn away. This is not the story for you. If you want to see a story that shows a character attempting not to give in to said dark persuassions where the easy route would be giving in and committing atrocities, than this is the story for you.
Now that we've cleared up who should be reading this story, let's dive in to the fun specifics of the story.
Style: The writing quality in this story is really high. I enjoy the prose, and overall the author uses a variety of words and phrases to describe things. The reason I am taking a half star off here, is there are some places where the author skims on description leaving the reader feeling less attached or confused. The first part I mention of "less attached" is that sometimes the author wouldn't give enough details when reffering to "family" of a character so the reader doesn't understand the character's struggles and thought process. I think it's ok to handwave (meaning skim over them as the author) some areas of a story that are less important to the story, but I think it's important to do so in such a way that doesn' leave the reader confused. There were one or two of these spots that I pointed out in the comments as "either include less descriptions, or explain what you mean here". Really there are just a couple instances, and later on in the story we see where the attachment is and do grow attached to the characters and understand their deciscions, but I think it is also important to establish this in the beginning. I want to stress that I am talking about very few points of this, and it is not enough to break story emerssion or make the story less of a traumatic tale.
Story: So far I am greatly enjoying the story I see. I'm looking forward to finishing this and will continue to the end, but wanted to go ahead and leave my review for this story.
Grammar Score: Not too many issues

The story is perfectly fine, the prose, style and everything that accompanies it is well written. The problem lies not in the content but the lackthereof. Simply put, there should be more content, there's missing details in places and I feel like more elaboration would really do this story justice. As the author already has all the markings of a great writer, I do not think that this will be a difficult thing to implement. However, there is an argument that it might slow down pacing, and therefore might be considered unsuited for the webnovel format, of which there is a genuine case to be made for. Should the author feel this way, then I would say keep the story as it is. But yes, on the positives, everything is well done, the premise is interesting, the characters each have their own traits and don't feel like simple archetypes even given some of their relatively short appearances.
Also while this story is labelled as containing gore or traumatizing content, I would argue that it's relatively tame, so if you're a person that really dislikes such things, that you don't worry too much.
Overall, amidst the heap of poorly written LitRPGs and pandering content on RR I would argue that this is definitely something you should give a read.

The Oath of Oblivion is an incredibly refreshing read on this site and I absolutely recommend it for fans of darker fantasy settings.
The author's descriptions of the settings and world build tangible, stunning imagery that draws the reader in. It's impossible not to feel entrapped with the characters in every situation and share in their experiences. At the end of each chapter, I found myself automatically clicking "next" in anticipation of what was to come.
I have two recommendations that I feel would really polish off the story:
    1. The dialogue. In some places, it's fast-paced and well-written. In others, it's a bit clunky and if I removed the dialogue tags, I wouldn't know who was speaking.
    2. Character descriptions/content. There's so much love and attention given to the surroundings and backdrop, and a lot of times it didn't feel like the same attentions were given to the world's characters. For example, there are a lot of lines that tell how a character is feeling at that moment but don't show it. Also, since the PoV for thoughts/emotions swaps to different characters, sometimes it took me a couple of tries to know who was thinking or feeling what was stated.
These are honestly nit-picky for an epic story that's obviously this author's heart. If you haven't read it yet, what are you waiting for?

I would say that this series isn't for the faint of heart - there's plenty of violence, along with some graphic depictions of torture and death.  But within that genre, there's a solid, quality story being told!  Multiple viewpoints add interest and suspense to each other as the story is doled out one chunk at a time.  I'm looking forward to continuing this series and seeing where it goes!

The author lack's style but I believe that is due to the fact he's not writing in his mother tongue. However, his grammar is excellent, as are the characters he has introduced in the opening chapters. I am curious to learn more about Rane and instead of disliking his torturers I want to get in their heads.
I shall not comment on the story as the plot and content is sparse, but I expect that to change by chapter 10.

Out of all the stories I've read on RR, there a very few that I would want to one a physical copy of. The Oath of Oblivion is on the ones that I want in hardback and signed by the author, sitting on my shelf to jump back and re-read when I'm slightly hungover on a Sunday morning and want to savour a good fantasy story.
I fully believe that this story belongs on the shelves of bookshops and I'd love to see that someday. The style is classic epic fantasy that reminds me of James Islington (which is a big compliment in my opinion). The prose and style are definitely two of the biggest pros in the story and it's very enjoyable to simply savour. Notorious clearly has all the skills to make a phenomal writer and he puts them to work in the story the pacing is on point, with a fine blend of action, story progression and weaving in the worldbuilding and lore.
As for the characters, they feel very real and don't fit to any of the normal tropes or archetypes you'd expect from an earlier story which I love. (Don't get me wrong I do love a classic archetype filled tale too but this story excels in outs well thought and developed characters.) The premise is very intriguing and pulls you into the story and the characters are very much driving it rather than simply being "pulled along by the plot." My only criticism to the author (which is very nitpicky as there's very little I don't enjoy in this story and can very easily be addressed in a later revision) is the character's voices could be better built upon to give them more disctintive feel  to eachother. It's a small criticism in light of the story as a whole and I feel could bring this story from "a really great novel" to being "one of the greats".
I'd also LOVE a map of the world the author has developed, I believe the author is working on this with an artist so will be great to see this added in a final version.
To summarise; Phenomal story and will absolutely be buying it when there's a physical book available (preferably h

    A tale dark and grim,
Of betrayal and war not written on a whim,
It tells a tale of mystery,
Merely six chapters in I wish to know the history,
    Of the characters within,
And of the worlds that holds them in.
This is written in a Style concise,
As if the author has been editing on the side,
And has decided to write well,
With a story from some dark well,
    Where this novels misery dwells.
The Story is still very young,
But it sings like a song unsung,
In time I am sure that as the words grow,
The story shall with great glory glow,
And under the weight of ratings bow.
The Grammar is not one I can critique,
For I know too little myself to speak,
But my immersion did not break,
A fine icing on this cake.
The Characters as clear as day,
    Actions revealing their way,
And yet it is hard to predict,
What shall be their next edict,
So this fic holds my interest today!
    So hear my call,
    Hear my will,
Follow me into this dark fiction,
    With heart in hands,
    And breath within,
    Come Fair reader come,
    Hesitate not at the door,
    Come inside!!!

    Hi!
Overview: Oath of Oblivion is a great novel and definitely worth the read.
    Overall:
I would definitely recommend giving this novel a try as it will hook you from the first chapter and develops nicely. Its style is distinct, the characters are fleshed out and It's grammar is also great.
There is one caveat - you will be reading a story that is darker in themes and so should know this going in.
Let's get to the individual scores!
Grammar: A make or break for many stories lies in if it's readable. This story is 100% readable and that is such an amazing thing to have for a webnovel. 5/5 for this.
Style: Normally I would discuss style with story, but in this case I will not because it is so distinct.
The Style of Oath is gritty and will make you feel the actions as they are happening. Emotions are conveyed with heart wrenching clarity and due to this I wasn't confused during any parts of the novel.
Pacing is also great, and you will find yourself easing through the novel without stopping because of jarring changes in pacing or theme.
Story: For web novel readers this can make or break this novel. The themes are darker and feature choices that normal novels do not make their protagonists face.
That being said, for the story and world created and featured it is absolutely the best of the best. Consistency is high, and we discover the world in easy to digest amounts without the information being forced into us.
Characters: I'm happy to say the characters are all distinct in their personalities and consistent. You will find yourself feeling their feelings, and accepting that they are fleshed out and have their own motivations.
    Once again, a wonderful read.
