- vtech1855Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0The simple review: the book is not long, has interesting characters, an easy to follow story, and actually has an ending.
The longer review: I love author's style so much that I went to look for their other works. There's a phrase (read: sound) that the MC makes when he's skeptical, and I can hear myself making the same sound, don't even need the audiobook for it. The author uses an excellent vocabulary, and this is very easy to read, like the author knew exactly what to say to draw the reader in.
The story is simple and short, and, most importantly, there aren't pages and pages of setting the scene or internal monologues analysing possible outcomes. This has a beginning, middle, and end, which not every book does unfortunately. While the outcome of the book is final and there are no cliffhangers, there very much is the opportunity for a sequel. Stand-alone or first in a series, either way it works.
Spelling, grammar, punctuation are all top-notch. This work was previously published in its entirety (side note: thank you so much to the author for posting here, which allowed me to find their other works that I can actually pay them for, this one too!), so I have to assume/hope that any editing work was done already.
This isn't a long story, and there's only a handful of characters, so it's easy to keep track of them all. I would say they're very realistic, and it's extremely to understand their motives. There isn't a lot of history/background given to the reader, but it's still very, very easy to empathize with characters. - unichatkidRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I remember this book from Podio a long time ago. it's just as good as I remember and a good shows how things are from the merchants side of things. Sure this kind of scenario has been done plenty of time now days but when i read this years ago it was a first for me.
