The Lies of an Elfin Queen

Description
Update: I appear to have once again gotten caught up in an editing spiral and lost the fun of the story. I intend to come back here later, but I need a break from this one.
Disclaimer: I will not be editing this much and this story will have some errors regarding grammar, ad hominum use, and run on sentances. If this is going to bug you, I would not suggest reading the story here on RRL.
Book 1: Chapter's 1-13
An introduction into the dystopia of Earth, circa 2251. Herein we meet Magpie, our heroine, and are introduced with her into the new world that is Dragon's Dagger Online.
Book 2: Chapters 14-26
Herein we are given a glimpse of the world's darker truths, even as we are thrust into DDO's mounting, racial conflicts as a rising player in the political game.
Book 3: In Progress
In which we detail the fortification of the Living City and the legendary quests of an Arch-Druid.
Forward:
by Magpie Frost:
"Coming of age stories are so passe, aren't they? Your average 'every man' is thrust into the world of adults, sometimes even the world of heroes, bringing the reader along for the ride. I always found the idea somewhat wistful, myself. Not the idea of a blossoming youth awaking to the promise of adulthood, but rather the idea that these trite'every-men' with whom we are assumed to identify are representative of what the average reader will be.
"No, I am not your 'every man'. I am not the farm-boy with the poor family and the wizened old man to guide me.
"I am not, even, your average princess, pure and innocent and lovable. With big blue eyes and strawberry hair.
"No, dear reader. You will not relate to me. You will not love me. Hell, when you find out who I am and what I have done, you probably won't even like me. For I cannot promise you warm feelings or happy memories should you choose to read my tale.
"So I will promise you only this. I will promise you blood. I promise you horror. And I promise you that, should you stay with me through the end of my tale, you will never be able to see this world the same way again.
"Until next time. Adieu."

- flakesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This has got to be one of the best starts that I've read in a while.
- midnight2sixRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great story, a few typos and a few very confusing sentences still, but the story more than makes up for any difficulties there. Good and bad characters full of details and attention from the author. The story is evolving nicely. It might even stir your emotions more than once.
- mramus47Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0The summary doesn't make it clear but this is a vrmmo story. As of this review the story is just getting started and the game world and mechanics haven't been shown in detail but the RL world is very original and interesting. We've only gotten to know the MC well so far but I found myself cheering for her right away. The grammer is good with only the occasional error with homonyms. I'll be following this story.
- RoarroRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great take on Litrpg genre, good MC, nice worl building.
And Mushrooms. These Mushrooms ;D.
I reallly,really,really like this story
One of best starts ive ever read in RR and in Litrp in total.
Hope you book it later, its well worth it. - EscriboRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0One of the best I've seen on RRL. What was great to me about this story is the way the protagonist is presented and the way litRPG elements are used.
I learned a lot from the author just reading the story. The story makes impressive use of LitRPG troupes, if you never read a single litRPG or japanese transported to another world story this one is a great introduction.
I love the synopsis for how vague it is, it got me to read this story and the prologue got me to stick.
It's a dark story with a resentful protagonist in an uncaring world, and there are hints of it getting much worse. However, I didn't find myself minding it because of the quality and clarity of the writing.
I recommend it to anyone that doesn't mind a dark fantasy, I think this is one of those stories that could thrive with both an older and younger audience at the same time.
Written as of ch9.
Story-Character focused at this time. There's a great use of a certain troupe that I don't want to spoil.
Grammar-Haven't found any mistakes. Good language usage.
Style-Good language usage. Author doesn't like to muck about and the pacing is nicely done.
Character-For an MC in a litRPG story I think it's clear the author made a big promise with the synopsis and the prologue as to how it's going to go. So far, I think the character's biggest strength is their vulnerability, made them easy to empathize with. - magpieRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The story is starting to look really promising after 19 chapters. The beginning was rather slow and plodding with a lengthy serving of angst: the world is terrible, her life is terrible, and like the children's nursery song: "Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, going to eat some worms..."
Her starting faction is exterminated, her enemy is abusing her real-world position in the gaming company, and the heroine teleports into a random swamp with an artifact-level moldy fruit. The situation may be bleak but our MC has an allied AI, power unknown, and a plucky attitude.
I'm cheering her on now: "Go Team Chaos!" - PyottlRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0As of chapter 65
Apparently dropped, so as always fairly incomplete.
Style
Nothing too unique, but fairly solid. Occasionally I felt it could have been a bit better, but I liked that it's a more descriptive style than average for such litRPG stories, and the litRPG elements are well-handled, too.
Grammar
Fairly good. The occasional mistake is there, but not too often.
Story
In the grim dark future ... humanity lives in the Matrix. Which turns out to be a fantasy game!
Well, not really, but it sort of is the story. So far, although split into three "books", it's got two parts for me: the first one, where the heroine starts out as a streamer (this is her job) and a second one, where she's still streaming, but she's now running a town made of fungi. Town-management litRPG? Instant win!
Admittedly, I felt the second part was a bit too rushed. There's some "conspiracy" going on (within the game and the actual world) that explains some of it, but it still felt a bit too fast.
Some plot points were a bit odd, as they got discarded fairly quickly (like the outdated areas: long explanation - fails on first try - never mentioned again). So that could've been tightened up. Heroine can fail of course, but it should be relevant in some way.
Characters
This is all about the heroine, and she's a great character to follow.
I only feel she's a bit inconsistent. Sometimes some things bug her, sometimes she just shrugs them off. Well. People are kinda like that so it's hard to say how much of it is really a problem.
As perhaps indicated, the rest of the cast felt a bit shallow to me. What was seen of them was fairly good, but they didn't have that much "screen time" so far.
Overall
Although a bit quick towards the OP-ness path, for a story that otherwise seems to be fairly serious, it's a pretty good series. It actually vaguely stopped at a point that could have been the end of "season 1" or something, so at least it didn't end on a cliffhanger or something like that, but still a sham
