Fascinating story,  well worth a spot on rising stars.
Well written, very few typos and holds my interest with good pacing.  Genuinely interested in where it goes, it's got many common elements but so far mixed up in a unusual and unique telling.
If I had one criticism the characters and their motivations could be fleshed our a touch.
Good effort Doc, looking forward to seeing where this goes.

My one complaint so far is the occasional choppiness/time skips  between chapters. I believe it is the author trying to create drama,  but I find it slightly off putting.
    Can't wait to read on!!

Haven’t seen much of the world yet but it’s been an interesting read so far! The main character is a rookie legionary thrown into what seems like a major conflict which looks to be accelerating his growth. The world being based off old Rome with what seems like a matriarchal society. Looking forward to learn more about the world and him moving up the Strata (if that’s in the works in the future)

This story does not let up. There are skills and numbers that go up as the main character grows, but it doesn't get bogged down in that as the action builds towards solving a mystery, hunting down monsters appearing in the republic and intrigue as we learn about the nobles hording power.
The world is built up as we chase down imps. Learn about the social strata as some crush monsters that common soldiers barely stand against. The characters and their interactions are great. I like the slow reveal about Cassius's past, no big exposition dumps, just watching him be suspiciously good at jumping fences and quote propaganda from the orphanage that show you what he's made of.
A lot of gritty stories forget how people actually think and act, really appreciate the details that make it feel real. Again there's not a lot of navel gazing or exposition slowing things down. The comraderie isn't overly sentimental or forced. It's a darker story so people definitely die
The grammar could be better. It's readable but there's mistakes here and there. Same thing with pacing being a little too fast sometimes, I personally would like more breathing room, but it's better than not enough stuff happening. Just it's kinda high tension all the time, and sometimes a new chapter will start mid-fight.
    Action packed story

This one is pretty good. Reads like an actual book with a plot and not just an endless webnovel like most stuff on here. I like how we get dropped in right away with no introduction to anything, makes it interesting as we find out about the world and the characters seemingly alongside the mc. If I had any critiques it would be that the mc gets away with way too much as a grunt in the military. He is treated like an equal for some reason and taken seriously by people way above his station multiple times, which doesn't really make sense to me. He literally tells his superiors what to do sometimes and they just listen? Even if he has a point theres a clear hierarchy in the military that he disregards like all the time lol.

A lovely and reasonably paced LitRPG adventure. Thus far, the world building is solid, the characters are interesting, and the book is not cluttered with clumsy system notifications. My immersion has not been broken by stupid or reality-breaking skills or abilities (which are all too common in the genre).
I write this review relatively early on in the book’s lifespan, but I can only hope that the author continues to write chapters of this quality. Ever onwards, Author! Continue the path!

Good story. Some grammatical errors but not distracting.
More importantly a good story.  Thankfully not an OP MC story with real characters. slow but good world building and solid character development.
Worth reading and hope the author continues.
This is all I have to say about this at the moment as my fingertips are injured and I can't really type like I normally do so it is silly that they make you conform to certain amounts of words.  I feel like I am in junior high school fulfilling the teachers requirements.

I’ve read a few stories that are similar in nature to this one. Really liking the pacing and character development of this one. Definitely did not expect things to advance so quickly but it is a welcome surprise. Author is doing a great job showing instead of telling for the most part. Lots of mysteries about the characters and world so I’m looking forward to new chapters.

I am a sucker for Roman like inspiration.  Seeing this fleshed out so well and our protagonist start to grow someone respected, despite his upbringing is fun.  Highly recommend the story so far.  Royal Road is always full of hidden gems and this is right up there with them.  Enjoy!!

The language here is fantastic and paints an interesting picture for you. The main character is interesting and mature. The world building is unique enough to draw you in, but not so common that you feel as if you have read the story before. You should definitely give this story a read.
