Follow Seth, an unbecoming child of an important family, as he finds himself in a world different from the one his parents had paved for him, guided by words in the air and the voices in his head.

He'll find odd solace in the command of a man capable of ending things without batting an eye, learn from priests that are not what priests are supposed to be, and attain powers quite different from what the world is accustomed to. He will face brothers that hate him, loyalty he does not believe he deserves, and tests he's very certain are rigged.

Pain will be his ally, weakness will plague his beginnings, and loss will stand a companion in varying times as he races towards power before he meets with a future already deemed inevitable in a fate of countless possibilities.

This is a slow burn lengthy coming of age Grimdark, Litrpg fantasy. It also has a weak to strong Mc element.

The story feels refreshing, the hardships that the mc faces are really well written , the world building is well written , still a bit foggy but it really feels like we know as much as the much as the mc about the world which is really immersive. If I had to give a flaw I would say that his family and background were really detailed when it seems that his story is going to be away from them, I hope we get to see more about the family dynamics and that it will be a relevant part of the story , I really enjoyed the detailled connection between the mc and his family :)

I binged this entire story. Sure it’s a bit muddled here and there but it’s an interesting take and easy to read. The writing is edited for the most part. I wish there was a bit more explanation of how the advancements work, maybe an appendix when vol2 finally happens.

The book is well writen, every character you encounter has a distinct voice in the prose, even those that say very little.
The interpersonal relationships between them are distinct and very human, from unrequited love , to sibling rivalry and distant parentage. The Main character has emotions and struggles with them as any teen would absent strong mentors.
The Magic system is yet unexplored, but the Author has given a glimpse of it thorugh advanced users having an encounter. It is very early yet, as this looks like a slow burn but one that is using that moniker correctly.
In that, things occur and things happen when they are meant to, vs nothing happening at all. There is some dark elements to this story and it maintains a great sense of mystery.
The lore seems to have potential as well with interesting interactions with the faunda of the world and the magic system in it, not a new interaction by anymeans, but still a welcome one for the immersion.
I'm hesitant to review stories on here of late, as they often devolve into prose I do not like. However, the author has show such a mastery of his craft, I review this with great enthusiasm.

Story is well written and paced with a nicely balanced world building.
But to me the crux of the matter is the main character starting rather originally, or maybe, in a rarely depicted way. Weak but not martyr-drama and not becoming god in 5 chapters.
There's weight to everything. Substance to every paragraph. A hidden gem i'll keep an eye on.

It's a slow paced, progression story . . Where the game element is not your typical blue box/stats thing but that does degrade the story rather it makes it a breath of fresh air considering all the other blue box fantasy troupe. The only down side is we don't get enough chapters fast enough, but author is mostly consistent (?)

This story is great and I would rate 5 stars if it were only based on the later chapters. The truth is that until chapter 45ish, however, the story is largely uninteresting and hard to get into for several reasons. The biggest drawback is that early in the story we are faced with a godlike character where nothing is explained and events are simply happening to Seth for no reason. That early stage of nothing being explained, the future being pre-ordained, and excessive child abuse could easily be condensed down without losing anything of value to the story.

The worst part is how unlikable and boring every character is in this story. They all just seem like a vessel to make the MC more angsty rather than add depth to the story in any way.
The writing is convoluted at times to the point I sometimes get the feeling english isn't the author's first language.
Without spoiling anything, there's some parts of the story that give me weird vibes with the themes being teased, which have nothing to do with grimdark, and makes me unwilling to read on to find out if the slow burn is rewarded.

I read up about chapter 20 or so. After all that worldbuilding was still confusing and chaotic. I dont think i liked a single character in this story even towards MC i was neutral. Pretty dark and angsty and not in a good way. A good way i would think about "Worm", just redicilously grim story where everything goes worse and worse but it was writen very well with interesting characters and comprehensive worldbuilding. Here i fail to find anything i like about this story, quality of writing is pretty okay but thats about it. MC just flong around with no direction or understanding in a grim world full of either bland or unlikable characters.

This is yet another Chosen One story, starting as many of them before nothing really stands out with it. Nothing really good, nothing really bad. I might have followed it a bit longer, but I got too annoyed at one of the side characters who took on a mentor role, so I decided it was time to bow out.
Perhaps those who are newer to this kind of fantasy books will enjoy it more.
