- KaywyeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0While trundling around the site, I stumbled upon this hidden gem. The writing is awesome. Characters are well fleshed out. World building is on point. Grammar and spelling are good. I'm not normally into the whole meditate/cultivate thing, but this has caught my attention. The humor has a tendency to be a bit dark, but given the MCs circumstances, it fits. (And I prefer my humor that way to be honest) The potential here is vast, and I cannot wait to see where this author takes this story. To the author, I say, good work! And thanks for sharing! To other readers I say, give this a shot, you might be pleasantly surprised.
- Soggy.Bottom.FeederRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Spoilers!!!! For the first ten chapters
So far i love it. The pacing got better. The mc isn't all mopey as I feared at first and the relationship between him and his companion Mel has an interesting dynamic. I really think her being there makes sense to why he isn't falling apart at all times, which is better than just saying he can because he's the mc. . While not completely just shrugging off everything so far with the small bit of his trauma leaking through what is set up to be a great mental defense. Good read so far if what the author has posted is true I'm excited to see how it plays out especially once Cassieus gets to to the wider multiverse. If i had any complaints about the story so far it would be some of the conversations feel rushed. Like the objective is to get the information out and get to the next scene, but then there are long explanations which I'm not complaining about cause I think it does the worldbuilding fine. Kinda a slow burn with a decent amount of info upfront. But I think taking more time on some of the regular conversation and in-between scenes could give just as much world building
Keep up the great work. It seems I'm not alone in enjoying it either - tophllipo1Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Overall: This is one of my favorite stories by a new author I've found since coming over from Scribblehub to RR, and definitely worth the read.
Style: This story is fast paced yet slow at the same time. It doesn't waste time on unimportant descriptions or dialogue, while not only being exposition. The banter is well done and the humor can get somewhat dark, but it makes sense for the character.
Story: the story has so much potential and seems to be taking a slow approach, not rushing into too much while revealing small bits through third person perspectives sprinkled into the first person narrative. The MC obviously doesn't know this information, so it is a very easy way to get the info across to the reader without drawing you out of the story with too much exposition. The world building makes sense and the rules of magic are not necessarily unique but are not cookie cutter either.
Grammar: Not a lot to say here. It's not perfect and sometimes I have to reread a sentence, but the majority of it is easy to read.
Characters: I love how each character feels like they have their own personality and lives going on outside of the story that has nothing to do with the MC, but they are clearly taking place in the context of their own lives. I am enjoying the small interactions each member of the team have with each other. Not sure how I feel about the two team members being a couple as I didn't sense much chemistry there but it's still early. - BsonRoyal Road★★★ 2.5I did not particularly enjoy reading what I did, for several reasons.
First of all, the technical writing is not great. Punctuation is all over the place, attribution errors, misspellings, pronoun inconsistencies, weird phrasing. It's not a smooth read.
World building is hard to comment on. There appears to be a setting, but any details provided are disjointed and a mess to interpret.
Characters are fine I guess, hard to tell this early, but since I dislike OP characters I dislike the system dumping all the abilities and tons of stats on the MC as reward for something that doesn't seem to have a major impact.
The system appears to be heavy on detail. I loathe extensive litrpg system prompts, so that's another negative.
