- RwgunnRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is the second story I’m reading that starts the MC as the lowest of the low before they start their journey to greatness. This take on the hero let’s the author bypass many of the tropes other progression find themselves rehashing. It’s been an enjoyable ride and I look forward to seeing where it ends up.
- Dreaming starRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Hello there posting the promised advanced review and I must say the story has not disappointed in the slightest until now. Also the story updates quite frequently so you will not have to wait long for the next updates and the author is very friendly and responsive to every comment.
Style wise the story is easy to read and it's easy to differentiate when they are verbally speaking and when they are mentally speaking.
Story wise the novel is going in a very interesting direction though I hope the mc doesn't get chased out of his latest home again other than that I have no complaints as I would certainly like to see him have a bit of peacefull base building time.
Grammar wise haven't really seen any real grammatical problems and even if there are, the author fixes them quickly.
Character wise all the characters so far have been quite entertaining so no complaints so far in that aspect as well.
Overall the story is really good so far and I really highly recommend all the readers give it a fair chance before deciding if they like it or not and also please don't drop 0.5 stars if you don't like it and just leave instead as those stars are unfair to this story. - AvidReader2425Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Currently caught up to the most recently released chapter, chapter 48, and I have definitely enjoyed the story so far.
The style of writing is very well done, very descriptive, intelligent, and at times a slight touch of a poetic license. It’s easy to understand and visualize what’s going on, and allows the world to be very immersive.
The grammar is very well done, and whenever someone points out a mistake that they might find within the chapter, the author is quick to correct it, and give thanks for the help. Even so, there was nothing readily apparent to me as I read that was of any particular issue.
The overall story is also really fun to read, with the main character being reincarnated as an insect, and having to adapt to that. The system is really easy to understand, and also incredibly helpful as the character continues on his journey in this cultivation world. It allows him to get stronger rather fast, as well as be very strong for his level, but also not unbeatable. I really like how insects and their various strengths are used, as well as those strength becoming even more useful due to the use of Qi. Overall, I have to say that I am very excited to see what other insects he might turn into, as well as those that will eventually join under his authority as the insect sovereign. Even more so, on how their various abilities will be further improved as their strength grows.
The main character starts off a bit naïve due to the fact that he originally comes from a modern world, but he does grow as a character rather quickly. He is very adaptable to his new environment after a bit of time, and the fact that he starts off a bit naïve does show good character growth. Due to this, I’m excited to see how he continues to grow and evolve in this rather violent world, and how he might best use those that eventually come under his command.
Overall, I think I would highly recommend the story for a very entertaining read, and for an immersive world. - Khan of KhansRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Caught up leaving a review as thanks to the author for creating this amazing story. Anyways the story is surprisingly enjoyable. The story is gripping it hooks you in with it's atmosphere and great writing. The Main Character makes me feel weird because on one hand he becomes an insect I've sworn to eradicate and in the he is also becomes my favorite insect which is makingme feel conflicting emotions. Besides my rant the pacing is really good it isn't rushed unlike other isekais. Overall 5 out 5 would recommend.
- Watcher of LiesRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5You will rarely see a fantasy/wuxia world with semi-realistic settings and even more rarely, a totally realistic one, sadly this one is only semi-realistic. But where I want to get by saying semi-realistic? Basically it is realistic story with minor logical errors.
For example; Humans or Sentient races being stronger than mindless beasts, in the long run at least. Demerit is some beasts evolve weirdly (without giving spoiler). Etc.
Author is alive, if you comment he will answer and help you. - GodlyskeletonRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Reading through these chapters, the story does a good job with its action scenes and character development. Lei Yan's journey from betrayal to battling it out as a mosquito larva is pretty engaging. The fight scenes are intense, and the way Lei Yan's thoughts and challenges are described adds a good bit of depth to his character. The struggles he goes through, especially the emotional depth and determination he shows, are highlights. The transitions Lei Yan experiences, from human to mosquito and his interaction with the new system in his mind, make for an interesting read, even if it gets a bit wordy at times.
although I fell the language used can be a little wordy at times, vivid descriptions are good, but sometimes they can get in the way. Although if you’re a fan of intricately painted scenes then this might be right up your alley.
The survival aspects in the story stand out, with Lei Yan learning to adapt in a harsh environment and facing constant threats. His strategic thinking in dealing with these challenges shows some real character development. The suspense and tension throughout keep things interesting. Despite some repetition in scenarios at times the story maintains its grip with Lei Yan's continued evolution and the challenges he overcomes.
overall it’s a great start to something promising. I would recommend giving it a try, the possibilities of how this could go are pretty wild and unpredictable, and the xianxia element ties it all together well. - TemaxRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I enjoy this story a lot. I like non-human mc's a lot and this story is pretty novel for not shying away from insects as an species to reincarnate in. So far the story was rather enjoyable except for the fact I realy didnt like the human cultivators due to them having chinese names and my stupid ahh forgeting who is who. Other than that a pretty enjoyable story.
- Hgt23Royal Road★★★ 3.0I like the story and sadly I'm not into a lot of the moral gray stuff I get it some things aren't good or evil but to say there is neither good or evil is kind of foolish still good story also as far as I have read almost all the human character seem petty to the extreme and it's so dang hard not to think the mc is kind of silly for trying to empathize with these characters I mean really you axedently bump into a person and suddenly it's a fight to the death like( how dare your breath in my direction your courting death ) like come on I now some people are really petty but why though
- JimraynerRoyal Road★★★ 2.5It's a generic xianxia disguised as an interesting non - human story. It has most of the cliches and bad choice making.
Every time you expect the story to focus more on the insect part, our mc somehow makes a powerful enemy (they always find him, even if they have to use the dao of nonsense logic), is forced to run away, is discovered and either wins using the dao of bullshit plot armor or surrenders and becomes a "captive".
He will always be the weakest in any situation because the author likes the classic xianxia mindset of having a weak mc who's disturbed every time he starts cultivating but is a supreme talent so everyone wants him. How hard would it be to balance a normal paced story? The author is not interested in finding out.
You could act like this is a human focused story and not a damn thing would change, swarms of bugs? More like emergency plot armor that get forgotten 99% of the time. Unique transformations? Just a rare resource/bloodline for powerful cultivators/monsters.
Overall it's a massive dissapointment. You can probably find a normal chinese xianxia with similar plot but better writing. - Immortal_EngineerRoyal Road★★ 2.0MC is bland and has no character traits. His survival was entirely luck based without many character dependent decisions. The story progression was reactionary and event focused. It felt like the MC couldn’t make any impactful decisions on the story.
There also wasn’t anything interesting like action, adventure, world building, progression, or character development to make me read any more. I did like the premise but either bad execution or bad beginning I have no reason to continue.
