Six weeks ago Lewis almost died stopping Anthony's coronation. In his absence something has been attacking the city after dark. What are the creatures and where are they coming from? What else lurks in the forest beyond Tristan's walls? Could the creatures be connected to the nightmares of a nine year old girl?

Hidden amongst the mountains far to the north for an ancient institution, known as The Dawn, have set their sights on Lewis and will stop at nothing to have him join them.
