- Chireiden AnisnoxihRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Story: The Final Alliance is a story about how a boy, Ko, fights against his unfortunate environment and aims to prove himself. The link between the main character and dragons isnt immediately clear but this gets filled in chapter by chapter instead of dumping it on the reader which is something I appreciate.
The system is easy to understand and it also gets introduced in a way where it doesn’t interfere with the flow of the story.
Style: It is easy to read. No over the top details but still descriptive enough to understand the world Ko lives in. The story has a pleasant read as the scenes connect well and in a logical sense.
Grammar: Errors are non existent or are negligible as most people would read over them without noticing. If any errors are present, they’re not distracting
Character: The author has a very good idea of what his main character, Ko, is like. His inner monologue, actions, and interactions paint a clear and consistent picture of who Ko is. His personality matches with the circumstances he has lived in. His upbringing and environment fuel his motivations to which he works hard to achieve, despite what others think. - DabossUnberogenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This was an instant pick up for me. I am a fan of both LitRPG and Xianxia, and anything that blends both is guaranteed to be a good time for me. The story is an interesting progression fantasy set in a natural world(as opposed to an isekai or reincarnation story) and it follows the life of Ko, a boy fighting to survive.
The style was clear, functional, and easy to read. It was not overly verbose, nor was it too simplistic. It achieved exactly what it was meant to do, which was to act as a vehicle for the story line. Well done on this front.
The story, as mentioned before, is very well thought out and engaging, and I found myself enjoying every minute of exploring the unique world that it is set in through the lens of the main character. The progression elements are well done as well.
The grammar was perfect as far as I could tell, and no glaring mistakes caught my eye. I might have missed some, but as far as I am concerned, that it the same thing as perfect.
Finally, onto the characters. Each of them had their own unique voice, and I found the main character to be very intriguing. They followed their own paths within this world, and there was no breaking from the immersion, as might have happened in an isekai.
I would highly recommend this fiction. - DarkodiaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0"The Final Alliance" is an engrossing LitRPG novel that seamlessly blends the progression elements of role-playing games with a vividly imagined fantasy world. The story follows Ko, a lightning hybrid swordsman, whose journey from a life of obscurity to becoming a legend is central to the narrative.
From the beginning, the author masterfully sets the stage with intense and detailed combat scenes, showcasing the LitRPG elements such as levels, stats, and skills. These elements are intricately woven into the narrative, providing a rich and immersive experience that will resonate with fans of both fantasy and RPG games.
Ko's character is exceptionally crafted, with a depth that makes him both relatable and admirable. His struggle against the oppressive Bone Vulture Clan and his quest for redemption and recognition provide an emotional core to the story. The inclusion of elements like essence alignments, boons, and different levels and degrees of skills adds a layer of complexity to Ko's journey, making his progression and the challenges he faces feel tangible and exciting.
The world-building is another standout aspect of the novel. The author creates a rich, detailed world filled with diverse characters, political intrigue, and a well-thought-out magic system. The vivid descriptions of the sparring arena, the bustling city, and the various techniques and abilities used by the characters contribute to a vibrant and engaging setting.
One of the novel's strengths is its pacing. The action scenes are fast-paced and well-written, keeping the reader engaged, while the quieter moments allow for character development and world-building. The balance between action and narrative progression is well-maintained throughout.
In summary, "The Final Alliance" is a compelling and well-crafted LitRPG novel that offers a perfect blend of action, character development, and world-building. Its engaging plot, well-developed characters, and intricate magic system make it a must-read for fans - Henrik SaetreRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0OVERALL SCORE: 5/5 Stars
The story gripped me from the start with having the system introduced through the MC watching two fighters duel. Great way to learn the system without an info dump! I was immediately invested in the characters and their world. It's evident that this is more than just an adventure, it's a journey that promises high stakes, rapid development, and revenge!
STYLE SCORE: 5/5
The style is such that I don't notice it when I shouldn't. Instead I notice the story and the characters. One thing that stands out is the dialogue though, which sings. The action scenes are vivid and thrilling, making me feel like I'm the story.
STORY SCORE: 5/5
The plot starts out "small", but hints at the grandeur to come, feeling significant. It’s not just about the action, but the journey of Ko (the MC). The story does an excellent job of setting up high stakes early on, and it’s clear that it will only grow as the story progresses.
I also bought the choices Ko makes, which isn't always a given in Litrpg :)
GRAMMAR SCORE: 4.5/5
There are a few minor grammatical errors scattered throughout, but they're small enough not to detract from the overall reading experience. They’re noticeable but don’t break the immersion.
CHARACTER SCORE: 5/5
Ko (MC) is compelling, with a clearly defined arc from the outset. His tough beginnings and the potential for growth makes me root for him. (Death to the Bone Vultures!) The supporting cast, especially Jin, adds depth and humor. The dialogue, particularly the banter between Ko and Jin, is a standout, showcasing the author's strength in character interactions. Jin's "gift" (read: curse) is really inventive.
Summary:
This is a captivating story with strong character development and engaging dialogue. It’s a world that feels real and with stakes that feel important. It's a journey well worth embarking on for fans of LitRPG and numbers that go up :) - MTalonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The Final Alliance has a sweeping setting, potentially cosmic scope - and an intimate, intense style focusing narrowly on the protagonist, a likable, driven young man named Ko. Left alone in the world after his father’s unjust execution, chased by his reputation as a traitor’s son, Ko has fought for everything he has and at last he’s got a chance to get into the one academy his enemies don’t control. Or do they? For when he reaches the end of his exams, his final entrance trial is an impossible task likely to get him killed, with no chance of success.
The style on this story is clean and straightforward. The author’s worldbuilding includes politics, clans, gods and a detailed city. I’m looking forward to getting out and seeing more of the world. No overwrought sentences, yet the prose is never dull.
grammar - aside from a couple typos, no issues. This author knows how to wield the English language.
characters - Ko and his friends and enemies are real and realized. From his mentor to his friend to his rivals and even fellow future students (maybe), they’re sketched quickly with vibrant strokes that will never have you confusing one with the other.
Story - my only knock on the story is that the opener can be a little slow in places. The author takes time to open up the world and help us understand the stakes but it might help to bring the challenge forward a few thousand words, perhaps moving the introduction of his mentor to after the entrance exams. While the progression and skill system are interesting and showing them by watching a fight is a great way to start things, I feel the real story hook is when Ko is told “visit (spoiler) and retrieve (spoiler)”. Anything that brings this forward will help keep and gain readers.
This story deserves 5 stars easily.
Oh and it’s got dragons! - zeestarfishalienRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0We have dragons in the prologue! Definitely delivering on that promise and the promise of action too.
So far, this story is well paced and written. It has the right amount of lore to get me interested without too much information dousing right off the bat. It gives it a good balance. The scenes pull you in and keep you wanting to find out more. - Rhea ZuluRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Reviewed at Chapter 10.
Overall this story is a gentle tale of a young man trying to find his way in the world, even with the odds stacked against him, and I found it very delightful.
Style
The story has a very simplistic, yet rich writing style that manages to capture the reader, and allowed me to be both entertained about the world, as well as the dragons and their role in the world. I like that the introduction of the story is that of dragons, powerful beings confronting something that makes even them uneasy. It gives the threat a higher level, and makes me interested in how it will be resolved.
Grammar
The story has very good grammar, and it helps the writing to flow well. The grammar is straightforward, easy to read through without compromising the author's writing style. I was not lost while reading and everything was both written beautifully and simplistically.
Characters
So far, the characters that I have met all had good motivations that made them more than one dimensional. Firstly, Ko's plight is well explained, and his hardships shown. I like that while he has syffered so much in his life, he does not wallow in self pity, instead he takes important steps to better himself, to grow stronger. He wants to rise above the tradgedy of his past and become a stronger and better person than his oppressors. I like that he has good people in his life, people who love and care for him like Dirius and Jin, and who wish to help him despite what consequences they may end up facing from the vultures. For the moment, we do not know much about the villains in the story but they seem to be awful aristocrats with no qualms about sacrificing innocent people to save their own skin.
Story
I like the way that the story has been started. It introduces both the characters and the larger world quite well. While the plot is still in its early stages, from how well the author is telling the story so far, I can tell that it will be amazing, and something very much worth reading. I a - TessyBRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have been hooked on the story since it dropped! The intro is really attention grabbing with great foreshadowing of what is to come/what is at stake. I also love the personalities of the first two dragons you meet. I hope we get to see more of them and more of the dragons in general soon. Overall have had a hard time setting the book down already! I'm excited for more chapters and to see where the story goes from here!
- Uncharted BloodlinesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I recently delved into the captivating world of The Final Alliance. I'm so glad I did! It's a fresh look into a cultivation world that deserves every bit of its 5-star rating. The story begins with an intriguing prologue, offering a glimpse into the dragons' perspective, setting the stage for the epic adventure that's sure to follow.
Style 5/5: The writing style is both simple and clean, creating a natural flow that effortlessly draws the reader in. The xianxia-inspired world is vividly portrayed, immersing readers in a realm filled with mystery, danger, and magic.
Grammar 4.9/5: Minimal typos or grammar issues shows this author presented a polished story to leave one immersed in the world.
Story 5/5: The Final Alliance has an intriguing storyline that is nicely paced. The protagonist and underdog, Ko, faces the ultimate dilemma: ascend or die. This high-stakes premise keeps readers on the edge of their seats, eagerly anticipating each twist and turn.
Character 5/5: Ko is a remarkably likeable and driven main character, navigating a cutthroat cultivation world with determination and wit. His resilience, especially in the face of adversity, makes him a character worth rooting for. The depth of his personality shines through, making his journey all the more compelling.
From Ko's early struggles and unique background to his encounters at the academy and the challenges he'll face on his journey to the Dread Dungeon, each chapter is packed with excitement and character development. I particularly enjoyed the academy vibe, the intricate world-building, and the clever use of boons to enhance the characters' abilities.
In summary, The Final Alliance is a thrilling adventure filled with bravery, intrigue, and the indomitable spirit of its protagonist. I eagerly look forward to reading more and unraveling the mysteries of this captivating world. Well done to the author for crafting such an immersive tale! - RMLionheart01Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5First, I want to say how much I loved Chapter 1. The way the author described the fight scene was simply amazing, and it really grabbed my attention. The attention to detail and the way they crafted the scene were truly impressive. I could visualize every moment as if I were watching it unfold in front of my eyes. It certainly set the tone for the rest of the story and left me eagerly anticipating what's to come.
It is impressive how the magic system is seamlessly integrated into the world. The introduction of stats is also well executed, making it seem like they have been a part of the characters' lives since birth.
I love the setting of a world where battles are waged for honour and pride. In a world where stats can change the trajectory of your life.
As you read through the various chapters, you begin to gain a deeper understanding of what drives Ko. You gradually learn why strength is so important to him and what challenges he needs to overcome in order to achieve his ultimate goal. With each passing page, you become more invested in Ko's journey and more eager to see him succeed.
From what I read, the story seems to be just at the beginning of something great. I am definitely interested in reading more and finding out what happens next. The plot and characters have piqued my curiosity, and I'm looking forward to seeing where the story goes.
