The Eternal Spire: A dungeon core progression fantasy
Community Rating
Description
Tim didn't have many thoughts on what the afterlife would bring, he had never really thought about it. Maybe he'd go to heaven or hell, or be reincarnated, or maybe he would even go to Valhalla. But when he saw the oddly bright mushroom rise from behind the city skyline, he definitely didn't expect to wake up as a orb of space in the middle of absolutely who knows where. Not being able to understand the senses of literal stone and air, definitely wasn't helpful.
Note that this isn't the typical dungeon core story. The way dungeons work, and how they interact with the people around them is unique. There are no system screens or stats that allow something to happen because "magic". Instead there's magic with a few simple rules, more science than anything really, which allow those with the know-how and imagination to accomplish great things.

- thenetheryboiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The dungeon creates the magic system from the mana system that the world inherintly has with enough mana mastery and knowloge you can become onmipotonte but our lovely dungeon timmy created runes as a short cut for us lesser beings as humans and I want to see him create other intellegiens races and monsters and realse them to the wild and became the god he was supposed to be.
- CultPenguinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Good Grammer, realistic start, great story building and great on the eyes. There's a great start so far, the mc while reasonable and smart, he is not afraid to defend himself. Not a dumb or dance character and smart on the uptake. Great dungeon building and attention to detail and great foreshadowing. Mc seems decent and likeable not a bad story keep it up, Love it continue to do good author! Keep it up and I hopefully I can become a supportive member to your story on patreon.
Please don't switch to webnovel it would suck to see and webnovel is a sad place to see a good story - Delectablebooklover8Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0A quirky kind of story with a unique look at what a "dungeon" could be like if its life wasn't born Within a gem... AND I LOVE IT!!!!! 😁😊 The steady growth, the interesting look at how they're using our knowledge to improve upon its life and its creations, And the ways in which its using what it has to create to improve upon the lives of others (for a cut of course). And I'm Addicted!!! Truly grateful that Elro started writing this story. 👀 😏😊 Cuz I'm gonna stalk this story in my free time lol. 😁😊💖
- Endless PavingRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This one surprised me. You’ve got your basic reincarnation as a dungeon core but with the twist that the magical logic behind everything is very well though out to not specifically create what has to be a dungeon but instead lets everything allow dungeons to be an emergent conclusion instead.
There isn’t even the normal physical core, which is a sensible exclusion given cores are mostly added as a way to create vulnerability to the dungeon rather than being a logical conclusion for how a “living location” by way of a supernatural presence should logically function. If some dungeon core stories get creative by making the actual sprawling dungeon a physical or biological thing to help justify the need for the physical core or what the presence of the dungeon territory really is, the. This story instead goes at it through the opposite route of sticking to intangible presences and phenomena.
As for what kind of story it is, this one is similar to “Another Dungeon Core” which is a similarly powerful core which creates an empowering environment for delvers. Effectively it becomes an indirect settlement management story, which a lot of creativity being spent in how the dungeon can uniquely empower delvers or create a sprawling economy. That and political and military concerns with human factions and stuff. Basically, the dungeon, like “Another Dungeon Core”, manually creates something akin to an independent magic system gained by those delving the dungeon.
Only problem I have with these kinds of stories where the protagonist just creates or develops magic powers is they somehow have a shared tendency of making the world of the setting feel small. If you can’t limit the power scaling (which is frequently more difficult when outright inventing or creating powers is fair game it seems) and you don’t put effort on focusing on the smaller human scale or emotional issues, then bigger problems become easier to solve with more progression and smaller problems tend to seem less imp - Flaming waterXLRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A constant ride of fun and change.
It has a good pace that allows progression yet isn't to quick. The lack of status screens and more science based system allows the intelligence of the main character to be shown very well. On the topic of character, whilst some of the character interactions are lacking they still have the perfect set up to be improved further down the line.
Overall, is similar enough to be easy to follow yet different enough to be fresh and an interesting new take on the dungeon core genre.
would heavily recommend. - monkeymanwasd123Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0The dungeon is more of a spirit than anything and I forgot if he even had a core so he probably didn't have one. It's fun getting into the physics of how dungeons would actually work and gain skills. There's no elementally aligned mana though he could probably make it.
- Cloud WalkerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0An MC who becomes a Spirit/Dungeon with a very interesting premise. Unlike the usual premise where the MC has some system or innate instinct, our MC here has to figure everything out like having mobs, items, and so on. (nothing to spoil I hope just message me if it is)
A plus here is that great grammar, smart MC, realistic (as realistic as a fantasy story can get), and a bunch of experiments - KokishortailRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love the story thus far, I love the combination of magic with logic and the idea magic is just another force in the universe and is explainable not just a stupid excuse for not having an explanation for something, the characters are great and memorable although Evelyn feels a little stupid and selfish to me but still amazing all in all I give it 5/5 stars.
- LessthanRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I like what I've read so far. Fresh take on dungeon cores, less reliance on "magic did it." and more "magic is just incomprehensible science." I could have sworn I hit 50 characters, but apparently not. No, i did, but it still won't let me post, that is weird.
- Mocking StonesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am personally not a fun of making reviews on novels that are not finished, but this novel is one of those, where, for me personally, plot won't really matter.
It has a very interesting and refreshing take on the way dungeons, gods and magic work. Good worldbuilding and everything made sense for me so far.
Was an enjoyable read.
