Description

The fates are fickle beings. Raj is intent on defiance.

On an unsuspecting night, college student Raj suddenly drove to the end of the world.

Heralded by earthquakes and bright lights, the system-led apocalypse attributed to The Greater Collective thrust him into a tutorial. Now stranded in an unfamiliar place with nothing but his wits and resilience, Raj, a self-proclaimed nerd and sword enthusiast, must battle against the great powers outside the tutorial known as the Sects who look to lock down his newfound talent for themselves. Additionally, dormant old monsters lay in wait, unwavering in their resolve to crush any and all who dare to oppose them.

Yet, in this unbelievably large Multiverse filled with wonders, Raj’s previous hospitalizations make themselves known, as old wounds literally force themselves open. Raj has to beat the tutorial, get stronger, and find a way to cure his seemingly incurable disease that may have more to do with the Greater Collective than he had originally thought…

What to expect:

- Weak to Strong MC

- Post-Apocalyptic Scene

- Not a fully virtuous MC, but he will help people out when he can

- No murderhobo stuff like Savage Awakening, but MC will still get strong

- Indian MC born and raised in America, so some cultural references

***Be patient with me, please. This is my first attempt, so some things may not be elevated fully. I have gotten substantially better as a writer, however, so you can count on a rewrite(or at least some form of improvement) for all of my first 15 chapters when I get done with book 1.***

Interesting story so far. I'm curious to learn more about the world and how this particular system works. Haven't read too many stories with a system and the Dao but I'm intrigued. The main character is likeable but I really have to question his decisions and priorities at times. It's easy to arm chair apocalypse though.

What you can expect from The Enlightened Blade: lots of action, fight scenes, rapid skills ups, quick and fun chapters, lots of character-sheet updates, and a self-deprecating but lovable protagonist.
My favorite part is Raj, an Indian-American protagonist, that feels real. He's funny, determined, and smart. He gets down on himself. He carries the story. I want more of his culture, and I can't wait to see how that influences who he becomes. 5/5 Character.
Grammer is solid, probably because the author is listening to people's feedback and fixing little mistakes.
Style works. It's easy to read. Lots of character-sheet updates. A mixture of bolded system messages, italicized inner-thoughts, and prose. It's action-based, so if you like to read about fight scenes, cleaver moves, and narrow escapes, this is your jam.
The story is emerging, and you can tell that the author has put pieces in place to make for some interesting interactions. Without giving anything away, we get this sense that the character wants to resist the pull of society. So you get some of that survivalist vibe.
This is just my preference, but I want to see events where Raj is forced into interacting with others because he seems to prefers solitude. There are a couple extra characters introduced so far, and in those moments when the characters converge, I'm hooked, because the stakes are high for Raj when that happens. I do, however, think the author has this in mind and I'm excited to see how he goes about it.
    Well done! Keep on it!

As of now this story isn't close to "great" but it still seems to be more than enough to be tought of as "good". It more than decent enough for a first try at writing.
There are some grammar problems here and there but i saw way worse on popular story so it shouldn't be a big enough problem to stop anyone.
