The Endless Isekai

Description

So you're having a normal life as a normal guy and then suddenly you get transported to another world, so far so good. But then you die, and you get transported to another world again, and then you die, and I'm sure you get the idea at this point. And when it happens a couple trillion times, it loses a little bit of surprise factor, you know? But hey it's fine, even when nothing is a threat and we've seen the same thing an infinite amount of time, surely there's still fun stuff to do right?

Endless Isekai is about a protagonist stuck in an endless cycle of dying and reviving in another universe. The protagonist is absolutely overpowered, and the main challenges they face will be mostly due to the existential threat of boredom and immortality rather than any kind of big complicated plot. So it's kind of like a slice of life in a way.I haven't written anything in a long time, so expect a lot of grammatical mistakes, hard to read paragraphs and everything that a beginner writer entails. But hey, it's not like I expect anyone to read this story in the first place. This aged poorly.

Each chapter is rather short and around a thousand words, some chapters like epilogues and interludes are noticeably shorter. I will now post a chapter once every two days, but no hard promises.

There's a pretty liberal use of colored fonts and boxes, some text is meant to be nigh unreadable but some of it is supposed to just give a different vibe.

If you're colorblind or struggle with weirdly fonted text in general, I do believe there is an option in reader preferences to disable fancy formatting and color choices. which you can generally find at the top right of the chapter.

In all hoensty I expected something irreverent. ANd this is, but there's a lot more to it. It's hit hard in a lot of ways, especially in regards to the first crush thing.. The whole story though has really gotten me intrspective, which is not something most stuff on RR does. As hard as keeping up with the mc's thoguhts are, it's engaging to a weird extent, and I really love the thought and care that seems to have gone into creating this. One of my new favorites on the site. Keep it up!

    General review:
It is hard to give a good review on this story and explain what makes it good. There are no physical stakes, as the protagonist is immortal and travelling through the universe. Instead, what matters is the experience. Our protagonist is constantly looking for a new experience to distract himself with, because stopping and grieving cannot be an option. This is the starting premise, and is then explored gradually over the universes. The characters are archetypes, the worlds typically have one unique gimmick.
    Style:
The author has put a lot of effort into consistent meaningful colours and font sizes. The words themselves at times don't quite hit right, but the overall feel of each paragraph still carries through very nicely. However, do be warned: This story is better enjoyed than rushed through. This is just a style difference, not necessarily a bad thing. This is a warning because generally stories on RoyalRoad tend to gravitate towards rush-through-able.
    Story:
Main strength. A lot of what I want to note has already been said at the beginning (for this score), so here instead I will delve into some of the details. You can treat each universe like an arc or like its own individual story that is connected with each other through the lens of the protagonist. However, as it progresses, universes and the story as well bleed into each other. This matches the progression of the protagonist and what is happening to them, and that matching is pretty hard to do, considering you technically have thousands of other universes to call back on.
On an unrelated note: Do read the author notes.
    Grammar:
I read it fluently without stopping for any spelling or grammar mistake / confusion. Any breaks from a style manual is because the author has their own idea that they consistently stick to. The reason is easy to understand: bigger font and caps for louder things / emphasis, smaller font for quieter things, font colour for various reasons, e.g. red usually meaning warni

Looking good. This is an anthology of the various worlds an OP human visits.
Grammar seems to have a few mistakes, but is pretty readable.
Story is about the various worlds and the people in them, though it is a bit short the ideas shown are pretty innovative.
Characters are well portrayed, though in my opinion the 3rd world has the most interaction and thus is in the moment my favourite.
Style has no big drawback I could find, though the creative use of font is a plus point in my opinion, only problem being that some of the text is impossible or very hard to read in light mode.
It's pretty interesting and we're a third of the way through already, I think it's worth reading especially considering how short it is.

I’ve been looking for a premise like this for a really long time and I'm glad I finally found it, the way the author executed it is also exactly was I've been looking for.
idk why they require 50 words but here's this to fill in some blank space blah blah blah

It seems like Crack but it isn't. If you get past world 1 (which is just a few chapters) you'll understand. Leave is just watching stories, and those stories are amazing. I like the feelings that this story gives me, and the author's writing skill just gets better and better as time goes on. Give it a try.

This novel tackles the concept of immortality nicely. Very respectful and I can see a lot of thought put into this writing. Them feels also feel grounded and based on reality.
What I love is that this isn't about MC's obviously overly-overpoweredness, but the person behind that curtain. How is an immortal going to deal with loss and grief? For our MC here, it's solution is definitely not the correct one.
I can't wait to see what's next and I hope to see this novel's finale. Also, author-san, take a break once in a while! Take care, alright?

What's the meaning of life? Seems like this is one of those stories. Except it's more about an infinite journey that's about the journey. So there's no progress. There's background characters you might want to know more about, but they get left behind with no closure. Memories are buried and forgotten, character growth is ignored or reset per new world, no attempt made at self improvement. The side characters experience all the development, then they get left behind.
Soul bloat? Does the main character explode? The MC has a custom hacked system made to automate regulation of whatever issue it has. Don't worry about it, doesn't matter, no progress happens.
So what happens? Twilight Zone short stories of dysfunctional universes at the end of their lifespan. Like a robot world where humans wiped themselves out, and the AI robots are running out of batteries. Then we move to the next world. Very imaginative and unique, but there is no progress, just dead worlds, and side characters who get left behind.
I personally think the MC is revisiting the same worlds, and covering up the memories of it. The MC is very narrow minded, parasitic, and self centered, or at least that's how it got here. Except there may be some regret and atonement being covered up, but can't be addressed with active memory blocking. Quite frankly, they probably stole too much EXP, which ruined the universes, and needs to find ways to return it for balancing. So it seems like the current system is there to automate this task, while covering up what's going on.
None of this is really explained though, and it's not done in any efficient manner, just through each new story. Why? Atonement? Entertainment? I think there would be more efficient ways of doing both, but clearly the MC doesn't care about it, due to memory blocking, so is just doing whatever it is as slow as possible, and enjoying the journey, except how is that possible either?
There's something going on, but it's not a priority. You have rando
