Honestly, I came across this fic a bit by chance while looking for another story. But I'm not disappointed to have found it. And apart from some strange points at certain moments like the chapter where Napoleon asks to introduce military songs, and that not only do people not seem to understand French (which I thought was the language of the kingdom since many characters have French names) and that he also did not teach them famous songs like Le chant de départ or the le chant de l'oignon (and the fact that Napoleon knows how to play piano but I imagine that's a skill of Caelan).
And there is also this scene on the road to the capital where Napoleon tells the knight at the campfire that he has already participated in battles... knowing that Caelan never left his duchy and that he never took up arms. Justifying the officers' reluctance when Caelan told them about the lack of modernization of the armed forces earlier in the story,
But apart from other small errors... I can't wait to see the rest of the story and the conclusion of the arc "Montrevelle beast attack" which I imagine serves us as a sort of battle of Toulon as the first great accomplishment for Napoleon in this world.

alright, my review might be garbage but its the only review here so beggars cant be choosers, i like the direction the story is going, tho i have some minor concerns and who knows, i might consider them concerns but you think they arent bad, tastes are subjective, especially when it comes to stories.
My first concern? perhaps the pace, this is a bit of a spoiler but not since you should already expect reforms, but perhaps they are too fast? the wide sweeping reforms i think would cost a fair bit of cash but ill be honest, i also find it believable that the mc can afford it since the territory while behind still has strong foundations, however if you have played total war games you will know how expensive fleets are, and thats just recruiting, imagine starting from scratch like our mc, still not really a problem.
Another concern of mine are some reforms arent really necessary, well i think the reform of him teaching French marching songs is, could have stuck with the native language. Last concern involves the little push back on the reforms, this reforms are huge overhauls and while napoleon is a genius and would probably find way to reduce the push back there still should be, of course there are talks of it falling all on our mc's head, but you and i know the mc is cooking and they wont collapse so not much there.
Now this is truly my last advice, the characters? like lucious and the mc's sister? they feel alive but not, its hard to describe it, lucious is presented as our right hand man and while we see him, it feels like he hasnt been useful? idk, and the other relations? i do like the little sister and while the others havent gotten much spotlight like his father or mother, we havent seen their influence, liked this part tho
anyways our mc's mother has a maid who has a bit of secrets, and the connection is nice
