Description

Ivy Crawfordhas done her best to put Craumont, and her past, behind her. She’d much rather live life as a Delver, exploring rifts in the world itself, battling monsters with her claws and magic in equal measure. But the past has come calling, and Ivy finds herself back in the city she once called home. Back to where the magic is quaint, and the Mages can be counted on one hand— but new shadows cling to familiar buildings, and old mysteries have only deepened. Ivy has changed, too, with scales, claws, and a tail earned from years of magic and Delving. Something has sunk its claws deep into Craumont, and just won’t let go. The Church she so loathes still looms large. If Craumont is to survive, Ivy has no choice but to slowly unravel the darkness over her old home. --- Updates Wednesdays with scheduled breaks, announced in advance. Cover art drawn byPatchesy.

Mysteries, happy monster girls sharing baths, eldritch adventures, pastries, flower-painted buildings, great queer vibes, and excellent writing. I’m really enjoying this series. The magical world building is especially good, and I’d be taking notes right along with Lena if I were in this world. Love the complicated relationship between Ivy and the people of her hometown too.

Ivy is a very fun protagonist, she's got a lot of compelling hooks built in and the time spent in her head is fun (also, I too hold long running grudges against people who have wronged me). Also, you should of course already know this, but she's a Dragon girl, and that's kicks ass.The developing mystery of the plot is good, and I want to know more. I won't talk too much about that, because mystery, but it's good. Do have to read several chapters before you start to see the scope of it, but it's great. The magic system is also a unique interesting one. Lots of fun, some nuances unique to this series. Still in the early stages of seeing what's possible (partly because there's incentive to hold back.)

God I love these two dorks. Ivy and her puns and her ADHD or whatever, Helena with her massive nerd brain hyperfixations and her remarkable proficiency with magic! But I especially love Benny and Manor, they're total MVPs.
It's very well written and I'm looking forward to more of both the romantic slice of life bits with added great world building and also more delving action!

It's a pretty good plot so far, with some intriguing details, with great characters that make me want to keep reading, such as Benny. Also, the magic system is interesting, and the fact that magic induces physical changes over time if used regularly is a really neat concept that I haven't seen before. Oh, and I have a incredibly easy time relating to the main character, which, as a neurodivegent person, that isn't something I come across often, so seeing representation like I do in this story is always welcome.

A solid wlw story in a fascinating gaslight fantasy world that so far has avoided the pitfalls that many such stories succumb to such as rushing the relationship or being overly performative.
Features solid representation for neurodivergence, gender non-conformancre, and how the most monolithic-looking organisations can be complex and interesting.

Well, I've made a terrible mistake. I've read this when only one arc is complete, and I desperately need more. Ivy is great - I have a soft spot for nonhuman characters who find thise traits fun, and unusually for Royalroad she has a deep sense of history. We're already seeing bits and pieces of the life that made her a character, and I'm fascinated by the process. I can't wait for more!

This story is great. It depicts an interesting, expansive world without dumping it all onto you, and its magic system is interesting - inherently transformative, teasing at the idea of transcending humanity. The story hasn't progressed too much, but it builds up characterization and emotional impact as it goes.
    Also, cute lesbian dragon girl.

Thankfully more happens in 8 chapters than most stores in 30-50.
we have a person who's had fulfillment and has won some fame returning home where no one will recognize them.
they have to interact with those she fought and have to explore her true love, delving
charmers of characters, excited to read more.

A fun little story, with a bit for everyone.  Dungeon delving, mystery, crime, romance, heartbreak, progression, sentient houses, and a dash of silliness. The main character is a mutating into a lightning dragon as she advances in power, but the story is fundamentally about a homecoming, and building a found family despite all the hardships.

I really enjoyed reading this story so far. The beginning is a bit rough, but once you're invested and the plot gets going, this is a very engaging story of good quality. You should read more than 3 chapters before deciding whether to read or not (ideally the whole first arc).
The grammar is fine, apart from minor tense errors. I think recent chapters have been better with that as well. 4.5/5
The style is nice, with enough descriptions and good flow. In some of the earlier chapters, the dialogue can be hard to follow at times. 4.5/5
The characters are all interesting. As the plot progresses, recurring characters show hidden sides and complexity. Even sympathetic characters have their blind spots and issues. All this meshes nicely with the mystery plot to leave you guessing. 5/5
The story starts slow, but the pace picks up fast. We get lots of hints at backstories and clues for the many intertwined mysteries at the core of the main plot, which makes for a very interesting read and gets you to pay attention. The pacing is good, with some fight scenes and lots of politics, investigations and character moments. We haven't gotten a lot of worldbuilding so far, but what we get makes for a plausible world that feels alive and has lots of potential for interesting turns in the story. 5/5
