  This is a Sci Fantasy world Apocalypse Survival mash up, with  some VR troops. Somehow the author managed to not screw such a mess by giving OP dangers to his OP MC.

  I don't know how but you have built a main character that is both rude aggressive and extremely lovable.
  I was swept up into the world building almost from the first chapter your narrative and perspective changes kept everything totally engrossing so if anyone is interested in a "tyrant" that maybe is the nicest ruler ever seen then I recommand they take this binge and hope for a possible "return" from the wonderful author who created this amazing world and adventure

  I am not one to rate stories, but this story is a one of the best i have ever read. It meets with all requirements of a good story. True that too many people survive in this story, but the author explains why. It is mind boggling how good this story is. The plot is amazing, characters are powerful but they can still be defeated utterly against the weakest opponents if they are not the least bit careful. I am always with bated breath when reading, waiting to see the out come. There is a virtual world thing with the windows and some stats but none of the numbers totals are shone, which give I believe a more realistic feeling and numbers in most stories make the MC overpowered early.  The battles, OH THE BATTLES, they are written in such a good way that you understand everything that is going on in the battle. The characters are all unique and vivid and you feel a connection with your favorite one. The point of view changes( the only problem with this book, uninformed POV changes, would like some notification) have each character have complete thoughts and views of the world.
  This is Truly a diamond in the rough, leaving readers thirsty for much,much more.

  I love the plot idea and the world you created. But you make in my oppinion 2 mistakes.
  1. Character, there are just to many of them i cant keep up and and forces you to make them shallow.
  2. Dialog, most of it is feels like reports or are reports there is this phrase "Show, don't tell " which fits here.
  Still i like the world so much that i can forgive for the Characters and dialog. Here is a link which migth help you improve:

  The premise of the Defective Hermit is interesting. Magic comes to our world, slowly disabling our technology and the survivors have to deal with the strangely dangerous new world. At the same time, the new arrivals are facing the opposite: they are forcefully transported to a strange new world. TDH is a story detailing their exploits, with a focus on Vincent Standish.
  While this initial premise was interesting, the story quickly gets bogged down in unnecessary details and soon it becomes little more than a story about logistics and old trucks/weaponry. I feel as if the author's focus on detailing the reinvention of all of this technology as well as the mundane logistics is smothering the interesting aspects of the story. TDH could have easily been a 5 star story but I had to deduct heavily for its many flaws.
  Below is a very spoiler heavy review where I detail my main complaints:
  MAJOR CRITICISMS
  1. The character cast is HUGE but also gets very, very little screen time. 30 chapters in and I still know almost nothing about the individual characters besides their basic backstory and job function within the StrongHold. 90% of the dialogue is about weapons, trucks, and kingdom logistics. The story has up to now failed to invest me in the characters. By chapter 30, the initial group of women that Vincent picks up to found his kingdom have almost no development. Their relationship to Vincent thus far can be summed up as "responsible for waking him up, makes him sandwiches." That's it.
  2. Very little that is interesting is actually happening. As I mentioned above, most of the story is exposition about logistics and technology, almost like a documentary. What little action there is falls into a very predictable pattern of
  A. Meets a group of refugees barely hanging on. They are all amazed at how awesome the Stronghold is. They join soon after.
  B. Random monster attacks
  C. More coordinated attacks by 2-bit villains that invariably get crushed by superior technology

  Some points to consider:
  So many abilities are mentioned with levels. Are those set in stone or can one improve them?  There seems to be no notification of progression. As the MC learns Earth magic and enchanting do his levels go in the skills go up?
  The Ding system otherwise feels very superficial.

  The early chapters feel like a stream of consciousness setting dump combined with very mediocre mc character building.
  Tried to give it a shot but couldn't keep reading. Even when something finally happens, it's still made incredbly uninteresting and bland to read.
  A standard royal road plot, below average execution. But at least the grammar is decent.
