Description

Dungeons. They are an integral part of so many stories and worlds. They can be the foundation of an economy, a place for the weak to grow strong, or a threat to the entire world.

Nearly as common as the idea of a dungeon, is the concept of a dungeon core. However, where did dungeon cores first come from? Are they just a natural occurrence? When did they start to appear?

This is the story of the first dungeon core.

Really just a phenomenal story. Without spoiling the ending and what it sets up, wow is it super fun and super cool to have this as head cannon for anything else.
characters are fun and add to the story. POVs are interesting. Magic system makes sense and feels logical and fair. Really enjoyed the story and binged this in a few days

    thumbs up
Covers the origin of dungeons, gods, dragons, phenoxies, other fantasy races, then sets the ground work for a Godsfall and system. I hope this series doesn't go on hiatus and I can't wait for the Patreon to follow.
I'm glad that another good royal road book is being made, this one feels like another Mother of Learning or Mark of the Fool.

while not really a perfect story, it is an amazing work with a lot of dedication.
first, the spelling: while not perfect out of the gate, the author has added or addressed pretty much any suggestion for grammar and spelling correction I've seen, and any mistake still existing is one that was likely missed even by the readers as not even comments about those existed.
absolutely delightful to see this dedication.
as for the actual story, the characters: while not outright iconic like other works I've witnessed, they are still vivid and different enough to be memorable, a lot of attention to detail in here too, as characters respond to information based on their experience and are not just foils to be used by the MC.
    amazing work.
for the style, classical fantasy, gods and magic, sword and sorcery, elder dragons and grand warfare surrounding the world as the MC does things that seem to naturally lead into the classical fantasy dungeon with logical and deliberate motions. no handwavy explanations, no free meals, but a slow pace of a predator using its wits to become a farmer of the most dangerous type.
there is little in the stylization of the text itself but the plot and drive of characters are plenty unique while leading to common and known outcomes.
the plot is interesting, as the dungeon is constructed in a more natural way than simply "make level 1, make level 2... ad infinitum" and goes about things by copying nature and experience leading to the same structure we see in classical fantasy dungeons.
overall an enjoyable experience, hope the author keep up the good work and squash all typos and grammar errors so future readers would have even better experience reading this story as on all other fronts it is beyond my ability to even critique and even on that front it has done way better than I could.

You never begged down the reading with mechanical explanations, and I enjoyed your idea for how such systems might come about. It's hilarious to think that the death throws of a dragon sitting on the lower side of the second highest tier in the universe brought about a multiverse spanning oversight existence.

I am genuinely too upset that I have caught up to where this poster has reached.... The fact that I cannot continue to read this story has ruined my day and honestly my week.... It is a "boring staple dungeon story" but in the complete opposite direction where I feel they perfectly build and set up a world for that dungeon to exist are the antithesis thesis? I don't even know.... But I know it's too good,, their world building and story line are so 👌👌 perfection I question nothing.... I am excited for whatever else they have to contribute, but their story so far has totally gripped as it is the dungeon core trope in perfection,, not utilizing a superfluous system it BUILDS that system from the ground up in BEAUTY ;-; it trumps other stories in ways I did not know was possible.... I will continue to follow this story and any other this author has to follow bc 👍👍 hats off... Like,,,,,,,, no implications to the story writer but my country ass cat also being named Burt is 👌 (I won't even go into spoilers bc it's already such perfection holy shit)... Genuinly this writer referring to this story as their exercise as getting better at writing before writing what they want to,, both makes me upset at them bc this is too amazing compared to what I've read on this site and upset at myself for not testing my writing skills (it'd be bad tbh... but if I was even one tenth of this writer I'd be unbelievably satisfied)

This is a wonderful story that expands upon the creation of the system trope. It provides a unique perspective on the history/beginnings of the system trope. I recommend that anyone who finds this slightly interesting read it as it is quite short and provides an excellent alternate explanation to ponder.

A read well worth the time.
There are very few stories where I personally stand till the end and even more rarely am satisfied with the ending.
This is one of the select few that genuinely gave a satisfying and well thought out closer to the story.
So, author thank you for this wonderful story.

A dungeon core story, with system and numbers, but from the other side. It's an interesting concept and very well-written story, with a satisfying pace throughout and a satisfying conclusion. I read it all in a couple of days and didn't feel any boredom or fatigue for the story at any point.
    I highly recommend it !

What can I say, this story started as simple novel about dungeon core and it was doing well; then we got time skips, pov changes; world building; great character development for Mc and one other character
Burt; soldier - scout who become a deserter to protect an orphan girl; who then helped Mc by telling him that he was limiting himself; and then he became something more!
It is sad that this is the end, but I had a lot of fun reading this story, I am glad that there is at least conclusion.
