The Continuity Protocol

In the future, the hollow bickering across the Atlantic descends into a meaningless war, one that devastates the earth. Volcanic eruptions and magma spills over, obliterating humanity. However, the story of humanity is not over. 20 vaults, each under the control of an Artificial intelligence, were built for this. Over the decades that follow, each vault falls, its walls crumbling. All except, for vault 18. Before the Last War even started, dozens of humans were placed into cyro, awaiting a new world. The AI that controls this vault, Athena, must grapple with the death of His/Their/Her brothers and sisters, create His/Their/Her identity, all the while reconstructing the broken earth. Athena must succeed, both for His/Their/Her sake, and of humanity.

A story that spans thousands of years, The Continuity Protocol is a chapter-by-chapter story told though the many sensors and thoughts of the AI Athena. Will He/They/She succeed, and bring a new era to the chapter of humanity? Or will Athena fail, and lay dying in the ruins of humanity's arrogance and former splendor?
