Description
Loki and Thor are preparing for the Asgardian festival celebrating family when while hunting together in the forests of Asgard, Thor is attacked and grievously wounded by unknown assailants. Loki is left to unravel the mystery while at the same time sensing that the event has caused a fundamental change in the universe. The events of The Burden of the Throne take place prior to those of the first Thor movie.

- Taiyo RioRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Loki: Burden of the Throne is a nice bit of fanfiction that really scratched my itch for good storytelling. Following the attempts of Loki to uncover the mysteries behind Thor's mysterious murder, he also struggles with being accepted as the new asgardian king.
However, the downside of this story is that it extends too far. Cramming intrigue, character references, and time travel without taking time to properly flesh everything out, the story maintains a frantic pace to keep up with the constant plot twists.
I do recommend it however, if you are a fan of political conspiracies, time travel paradoxes and Sherlock-Holmesesque plot lines.
